Anyone else in here take their leftovers to the extreme? My wife and I have a calendar of all our meals and stuff so we can keep track of when each meal was cooked. I just finished some peanut curry the other day that was over 2 weeks old, lol.

how did it get to be 2 weeks old lol Lol sometimes. But more often it's cuz we cook huge portions and it's just the two of us. I try to use everything when I cook, as little waste as possible. Sometimes when I cooked potatoes or other root veggies, I use the peel, mostly I cut them and fry. For example last time on my cabbage soup I used most of the carrots.

it's my mom's birthday tomorrow and she likes chinese food, so i'm gonna make a shitload of fried pork wontons and sweet and sour sauce tonight, and then some chicken chow mein to go with the leftovers of those tomorrow. i might also make some beef and broccoli or something, which i wasn't initially planning on doing, but there was some sirloin on a $5 Friday deal yesterday that i just couldn't pass up. Hell yeah, post plenty of pics i've never made savory pancakes before. that sounds pretty good, and they look tasty! i might try it one of these days. This is the recipe I used (also added some Italian seasoning & Lawry's seasoning salt to the breadcrumbs before mixing them with the eggs, and once the mixing was done I also added a dash of sherry to the mix): https://www.atasteofmadness.com/2017/11/egg-and-breadcrumb-patties.html If you ever make them I recommend serving something moist over them, like eggs benedict for example. I made turnip green chips today. had some sitting around from thinning turnips but they were a bit old and too sad looking to just sorta cook normally in a pan so I figured if you can lay a bunch of kale out on a sheet and bake it to get kale chips, maybe the same would work here.
.... well, they weren't inedible at least. definitely wouldn't recommend it though. kale is sturdy enough to make it work but these basically just turned into some extremely thin papery things that instantly disintegrate in your mouth and leave you with this slightly burnt leaf taste --- THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! my first brisket sous vide.
sous vide for 40 hours then 3 hours smoked at 275. tasted great, it was almost too tender. it just fell apart. I wasn't prepared for all the juice in the vacuum bad, saved that and made a nice vinegar bbq sauce. my family was real skeptical that it would be worth the 40 hours, totally was. --- Minimal, yet feature rich. https://imgur.com/bphehs8 ... This was an easy meal, however it is one of my favorite . No bells and whistles, just well seasoned turkey meat and chips. I will come back with something more complex Sunday or Monday. But I wanted to post one my favorite meals. I could eat this every day. If I had a nacho chip that tasted like Nacho but was low crab I would eat it every day.

man, i posted the pic of my Mexican pizza to a few subreddits, and it's getting some decent traction on r/FoodPorn but they really did not appreciate it on r/mexicanfood, lol. the description of the acceptable content in the sub's sidebar led me to believe they wouldn't be such sticklers about "authenticity". guess i was wrong. I wanna make my own ketchup but I feel like it wouldn't be worth it when I can buy some store brand for half the cost. My mom has made own ketchup from home grown tomatoes once and it was pretty delish. But the made a more loose version. Anyway. This is what I made up from my own head: It looks pretty sloppy and the angle made it look like there is more veggies than there is. Anyway, its a kind of ratatoullie with red lentils, cod and pan fried fresh brussel sprouts in butter, topped with the first leaves of the cooked sprouts and a crumble of deep fried carrot and parsnip peels.
