But in general early on you are going to be running into a ton of new-to-moba players who legitimately don't understand the genre. It gets better.

I played a bit more last night, but just seemed to do worse the more matches I played. Sometimes I swear I was one-shot by a single enemy who was a lower level than me even somehow. It was brutal dying left and right that stage >_>

I think float stone is being panned unnecessarily here. Absolute speed doesn't matter as much as relative speed and beating your opponent to the middle creep in lane is very valuable.

Buddy barrier is interesting. I'll have to pump that one...

Edit: Though while thinking about it is buddy barrier also win more? Are you getting to the point in the game where it does anything without losing already?

COINS: Buy Pokemon or Buy Held Items

in general you will want to pick 1/2 pokemon to focus on, and use your coins to get held items. The game only lets you earn 2100 coins per week. We all agree this is very shitty because it's the free currency. Progress should be slow, but infinite, but instead you can earn you 2100 pretty quickly and then you are just sitting on your thumb for a week.

TICKETS: Buy Held Items or Cosmetics or Boosts or Item Enhancers.

I've bolded Item enhancers because ALL your tickets are belong to Item Enhancers. You will want to rush your most used held items to 10 (takes 82 enhancers) and then start to take some to 20 (takes 485 more, or 567 total). Unless you drop a lot of money in the game, levelling past 20 towards 30 is not realistic and is more of a long term goal. You will get tickets for leveling up, or for daily quests and the like. The cap on coins makes the coin boost completely worthless. You can consider using tickets for a Battle-Point-Boost to level your account more quickly, but since there is a level cap of 40 you will hit it eventually so that boost is pointless too.

ENERGY: You have the gumball-looking machine that will dispense random items every 100 energy you earn. There is also a limit to how much energy the game will allow you to earn each week so you'll only get a handful of rewards before you are capped out.

FASHION TICKETS: Cosmetics

GEMS: This is the paid currency. You can use it to purchase most things in lieu of tickets or coins. If you are out of TICKETS you can use GEMS to buy Item Enhancers at a rate of 1 gem per 1 item enhancer. This price is not displayed in the store so you would just try to make the purchase without tickets and it will tell you how many gems it will take. If you get the battle pass (490 gems) over the course of the season you will end up earning 540~ item enhancers worth of extra resources from the locked season rewards. So in this sense the battle pass is worth it if you've spent money because you will have a net profit of item enhancers.

I think that about covers it.

That seems like too many currency types. I might grab Gardevoir since shes my favorite, but otherwise I dunno what licenses Ill buy. Ill probably play pretty casually for a while if it holds my interest long enough. Its kinda fun enough just roaming around beating enemies, but Ill have to get a handle on which skills are better for level ups and uh what the hell Im actually doing during matches. I just go wherever and try to get points and level up basically

Do you guys think this game is a good indicator of what playing Wild Rift on a console will be like? Hopefully it has better auto attack mechanics. Like I try to get used to using the right stick to select the 'mon to focus on and most of the time it screws me up more than it helps. I did turn off most of the aim assist and auto select target stuff for skill shots but the auto attacking itself still often trips me up.

Sure the game comes down to Zapdos every time anyways, but having my team not as ahead and getting a pathetic shield I don't think is game changing enough.

I've found Absol cannot fight at all at Zapdos anyways. There's 5 other pokemon there at the fight and no matter what someone is going to try and lock you down and you'll be bursted regardless. The best way is to try and sneak behind somehow and assassinate someone from the back row, or use your ult to push everyone away.

The second you jump into them as Absol, you are dead in half a second, it won't matter if you have a tiny extra shield, you're still dead 100%. The other speedsters really don't have this issue as bad as Absol has it (concerning Zapdos fights). Zeraora gets big shields and recovery... Talonflame can be untargetable, Gengar do the hexy and can't be hit either.

The video is underrating Float Stone. Raw movement speed increase isn't as important as having higher MS compared to your opponents. It's like an arms race - if you're faster than them, even a little, then you gain a lot of inherent advantages.

The numbers aren't quite as good as I would've hoped, and 'out-of-combat' taking 8 seconds is definitely on the long side, but Movement Speed is still Movement Speed. It's the most important stat in any MOBA.

2.5% (or whatever it is at Level 20) increased movement speed is the difference between you catching someone, or escaping from them, or even just being in position to do something a split second before them if you can microspace well. Its not as strong as I would have expected based on its description, but it's still a solid pick.

Source: a person who got really high in League of Legends ranked partially because I stacked movement speed when most others wouldn't.

Basic boots are the single most cost-effective item in all of LoL though

The shield items do seem pretty good, I'll check them out when I can actually upgrade things.

but if everybody gets the basic boots (which they do), then it doesn't matter if they boost speed by .1% or 80%. Almost always, speed only matters relative to other players, as has been argued consistently here. Now, if the extra boosts KP would get are 7-8% above what other players tend to get and that's why they're effective, you have a point

I haven't played league in years, do people still buy boots 100% of the time?

Because if buying anything besides boots is objectively wrong your item is too strong

Ultra Rank Get! Had to work for it, but I'm definitely learning my way about Zapdos fights better. Really just have to pick my times to go in really quickly for a hit and run away before I can pick another spot to go back in for another.

I would also like to say I'm proud of my prediction of Cinderace being absolutely busted. I think I've played against a Cinderace in 19/20 of my most recent games, and every time they get fed and do a billion damage while being tanky and super safe.
