If I had to start with 4 pokemon for an ideal teamcomp, Cinderace, Snorlax, Eldegoss, Gengar.

Cinderace, Snorlax, Eldegoss are the big 3. You can build anything around those 3 basically.

I don't think I "get" Cinderarce... he's probably the character I'm the worst at. I feel stronger as Gengar or Slowbro or Charizard... I feel like one on one, I die as Cinderace more often than I beat the enemy.

Cinderace's strength comes with teamplay. When he's got teammates helping him out in fights and playing frontline for him, he can just melt everything and not have any worries basically.

Cinderace is incredible at harassing people with big damage before the fight starts at all.

Wigglytuff's kinda garbage, IMO, but I've only played it a handful of times. If you take Rollout, you aren't supporting anymore apart from your ult, but any ranged attacker will just flat out slaughter you.

Mr. Mime's passive filter is MUCH better for survivability and its barriers bring to mind Tassadar (before changes) in HotS, or Anivia in League, or Earthshaker in Dota. Feels more damaging, too, but is also rarer to see.

Snorlax is a support. The reason he is so good is he for some reason can also brawl

Mimey is legit. He does stupid amounts of damage and the wall is great.

Not as great as Snorlax's wall, though. That's the best move in the game.

Wall can divide a team in half and can push opponents into your team or pin someone to the wall. It can also provide pushback and create a loss of control to characters like Gengar and Zeraora when they jump in. I consider it to be the superior move in most cases.

If there is no character trying to jump into your team then Snore can be better at allowing you to score 20~ points next to a sleeping enemy. But you could also just use Wall to coordinate with an ally holding a lot of points so they can score while you create space.

Cramorant has a super good early game. I'm scared any time I try diving him because he can oneshot you at like level 3-4.

Snorlax is dang good.

Im having a lot of fun with Machamp right now. I feel great in the jungle, reasonably tanky and like I can 1v1 anybody. Submission is an awesome escape, engage, CC. Pretty good burst if I need to try to steal Zapdos, too.

Ok I just started playing and havent read the rest of this topic

my first match against real people I just destroyed everybody. scored liked three times as many points as anyone on the team, got I think 14 KOs... is Talonflame really good? did the other people just suck (probably this)?

Talonflame can do a lot of damage but he sucks. Also those people likely also suck.

possible theyre just bots (or children) but yeah probably suck either way

Its still going pretty well for me after six matches, but nowhere near as dominant as that first one.
I might stick with him even if hes legally bad. I like being able to chase dudes down when they try to get away + I like Talonflame itself a lot and would rather not main one of the really obvious popular ones.

Maybe Ill give Mime and Venusaur a try next

(I hope at some point they add Croagunk/Toxicroak. Id probably play them no matter how bad they were.)

Even the coin boosters arent worth it, you still have a weekly limit to earning coins. It would have been better to use tickets to buy the items and save your gold for licenses

It will become especially awful once we reach player level 40 and there is literally 0 things earned from gameplay.

Man, I have no idea what the value of any of these currencies are. I think I saved my tickets because you can only use tickets to buy the item upgrade materials and I thought those would be important.

I made a post earlier (#366) about it. It's really annoying. And yes you don't really want to spend tickets on anything else except Item Enhancers.

Final spot is a bit of a toss up, could be any of a few good damage dealers. But I feel like those top 4 are almost a lock for any actual serious team.
