and i like the idea of a double length premiere.

I think it's especially good for shows like this where the setup basically takes an entire normal length episode or more so you get to actually see a bit of what the show is gonna be like.

I've been having a really tough time finding an old manga that I liked. It's an obscure series called Toto: The Wonderful Adventure; a shounen/action series loosely based on The Wizard of Oz, with a strong fantasy vibes. It came out in English around 2008 or so but seemed to quickly disappear from stores. I've never been able to find scans of it except once, and that was in some random language neither English nor Japanese. I could buy it online, but the last couple volumes go for nearly a hundred dollars anywhere I look. It really sucks because I didn't even get to finish reading it.

Yay slime episode is finally out. I feel the series is really starting to suffer from character bloat. They went through a whole episode and almost started having a meeting. I still enjoy it though.

The detective is already dead also has a double length first episode that I just watched. It was ok I guess. So far I kind of feel like the writing is bad, as if the author knows where he wants the plot to go but isn't able to make it go those places believably.

But man, I'm not sure if I just watch too much hololive or these characters are really looking like em sometimes. The girl looks very much like fubuki even more so than vivy reminded me of suisei last season. Kept expecting her to say "waifu? no no no, friends" which wouldn't have been that out of character for siesta.

EDIT: Woah, upon looking up if anyone felt the same, apparently fubuki and matsuri will appear in that anime in episode 3 as themselves. If thats the case, theres no way the design wasn't intentionally like fubuki.

Watched tsukimichi and dragon maid S episodes today. The first one is fine I guess. Practically speedran the isekai setup in like 2 minutes and main character seems strong enough that interesting combat isn't really something they are aiming for. More of a comedy angle I guess. Wasn't amazing, wasn't horrible.

Dragon maid S got that animation though. It's looking good. It was funny and yuri as always although I feel like they paced it poorly. The first half of the episode is a self contained funny thing and the 2nd half doesn't conclude so it feels like the ilulu part should have just been it's own episode and they could throw in another half length self contained bit with the maid cafe part. Also the damage tohru took looked weird. Like, thats not the kind of wound claws cause and then also the clothing just magically repairs off camera in like 1 second which maybe thats something that could happen in the show and I just forgot.

Trying to decide if I want to bother with the drugstore isekai. Might wait and see if the rating is good after a few episodes since I'm on the fence.

Looking the title and description, I think I glanced through a volume I found at a reseller like two or four years ago. It stood out half for having the Oz branding, but also it felt like wasted potential. (Although it made me think about a lot of other things inspired by the Oz brand, such as Tin Man (awful) and Wicked, as well as what could be done with it.)

Because I only saw the physical release, I can't really help with the search =x

I can access the site on my PC or if I use the Wi-fi on my phone since I use xfinity for my home internet.

But If I want to use data internet the site can't be accessed.

Which sucks because I JUST upgraded to unlimited data for my phone.

I can use a VPN to bypass it but It's still annoying.

Watched aquatope and the 2nd episode of peach boy. Peach boy is still fine but not great. Aquatope has freakin beautiful backgrounds and mostly looks great although the cgi for the fish is kinda meh. Ended up liking it a bit more than I expected to. Will keep watching for at least another episode or two.

Watched black company and..eh, I don't really like it. It kind of reminds me of episode one of combatants last season and that first episode was ass but after that it became good. I do not have the same faith in this one but I might give it one more episode.

Kanojo mo kanojo continues to be hilarious to me. Was kind surprised to see it rated so low where shit like vanitas and the detective one are rated pretty highly.

So far I'm pretty down on this season. It's not all bad, but a lot of its bad. Maybe once jahy starts and kingdom is back it'll feel a bit better.

I still have mixed feelings about Uramichi Oniisan (aka Big Brother Uramichi?). First, the whole thing feels very 4-koma (in that the manga just seems to consist of a series of set-ups to a joke / reaction rather than having much in the way of a story). Second, there's still just a general issue what he's doing in front of the camera which presents all kinds of credibility issues, although maybe the anime presents it in a way that you could believe that he's still a popular entertainer and not somebody who'd get fired either for low ratings (since the kids react badly to him) or because of his comments.

I'm kinda guessing they're going to add a love interest later on who might be another children's entertainer, and I'm tempted to hold out until that happens. Besides that, it's great for angsty reaction images. Currently 2 chapters in and it looks like 26 are available, so I could probably finish it pretty quickly this afternoon.

Finished reading Uramichi Oniisan, and now I'm sad because I'm out of Uramichi Oniisan. It's not a great series, but it was okay enough and there were some decent meme images in there.

idk, they've kinda changed direction. Early on, the kids were all brats, but later he's running into children who appreciate him more so he's starting to care.

I'm not really interested in "IRyS's first ara" or whatever meme shit that's circling hollolive this week. They also all play the same games so there's very little reason to watch any of them for the most part. I do enjoy Korone streaming every once in a while because somehow she's so entertaining when playing Mario that she breaks the language barrier.

There is some enjoyment in repeatedly watching someone fail at a game for hours on end, especially seeing their reactions, ect. but when this manifests as "X plays Oblivion 2 hours a week for 6 months straight", then yes, that's not interesting in the slightest.

I didn't learn my lesson in Ys 8 and spent about an hour killing a bronto thingy that they told me to run away from cause I'd have no chance. Not learning paid off though because it stayed dead and I got plenty of drops and xp. Not an hours worth by any means, but I won. That'll teach the game to underestimate me. Given that I can only handle playing games for like an hour or two a day, I really wasted it all on this. At least some anime to watch came out in the last few hours.

Watched 2 episodes today.

Spirit chronicles is the most straight forward power fantasy isekai I've seen in a while. Main guy OP at everything but boring, rich high society types all evil and mocking, and some supernatural conspiracy going on. The writing isn't good. It's isekai junk food but unlike most of that type, it takes itself completely seriously.

Battle game in 5 seconds I don't have a good read on. The artstyle is kinda weird and I can't decide if it's fine or bad. The writing is bad and the main character does not feel like a real human and didn't have the build and development to get away with acting absurd. The voice acting for the cat girl is actually the worst voice of all time. I despise it. The premise is inherently engaging though. Typical death game like btoom or darwin's game but thats an under-served genre and the main guys power is actually a nice twist. The ability he is given is that his ability works however his opponent thinks it works so as long as he can bluff well he could always pull off a win. No idea what restrictions it has since it's just episode one.

So the show as a whole is a mix of pretty bad and fairly interesting. I do think it'll end up being bad overall though. A decent premise still needs at least ok writing.

It's kind of insane to me that stuff with terrible amateurish writing becomes anime. When I think of the insane amount of effort and time thats put into bringing something like that to the screen...is that really the best they could find?

I'm often baffled by some of the things that become tv shows or anime. A few don't even seem like a good idea in the first place.

idk, I guess they probably just go by perceived readership in some cases, or things that personally interest a producer/director/etc.

Started Black Clover. Like 5 eps in so far. Guessing a lot of people hate Asta's constant yelling. It is grating, but I can deal with it. Seems like it could be enjoyable though.

I bought One Step from Eden about a month ago; just started playing it over the weekend and I love it (figured I would since I like Slay the Spire and other roguelikes/roguelites). Just finished a run for the first time; the end of a Pacifist run is really cool; when just as Terrable is about to kill you, all the people you spared in battle return to help you defeat her.

Despite being a Mega Man Battle Network veteran, I had a lot of trouble with One Step From Eden. Kinda disappointed me as it looks a lot like BN but doesn't really plat at all like it. Apparently the developers made the game without knowing of BN's existence.

None of the characters really jived well with how i play games. Where as in Slay The Spire 1 card decks were actually a viable strategy (idk if they are anymore).

One Step from Eden is fabulous, I have 120+ hours in it. Frost is so over powered. Once I had the game slowly and terribly lag and come to a halt after filling my deck with Blizzard/hail/Fimbulveter cards after a few loops the game just was unplayable.

Uramichi might have got me started on another manga kick.

After being intrigued by the thumbnail, I started reading a Chinese or Korean webtoon titled My Delightful Boyfriend. It's about a super-jacked high school martial artist who winds up moving to the city and falling for a vampire. You know, just your every day slice of life.



The only problem is that only 19 chapters are available atm and there was a like a 2-year scanlation gap in the past
