It's episodic and kind of random. I'll have one can a day for a stretch of five days, then a week without, then alternate every other day. It probably averages to 2-3 per week.

The one constant is that if I'm eating pizza, I'll have some soda.

Also it's diet soda about 90% of the time.

I think diet usually tweaks the recipe a little so there are other differences in taste vs. the standard.

Whereas zero sugar is always the normal formulation but swapping sugar/HFCS for aspartame and acesulfame potassium.

I used to drink a lot a few years ago (more so energy drinks) but then I switched to sugar free energy drinks. I was drinking a lot, like 2+ of the big cans a day. Then like 3 months ago I cut energy drinks out completely and drink exclusively water / flavored water and infrequently juice. It helped slow down my metabolism (I was like 17 - 17.5 BMI and struggled to gain weight regardless of calorie intake). It took a while for my body to adjust to it but once it did I put on like 10 lbs in a 2 week period (which is a lot when you were sub 130lbs) and in general have started feeling healthier and now find it easier to put on weight. What I drink were the only part of my diet I changed.

I basically can't drink normal pop now because the sugar makes me A. Crash and B. Gives me a really bad headache within 1-2 hours of drinking it and ruins my entire day

Almost never. I used to have 4-6 oz of Coca-Cola with breakfast every morning, in a wine or martini glass. Then some more with lunch, then maybe something caffeine free with dinner. September 2020 I quit cold turkey, and only had my first sip of ginger ale a couple weeks ago.

Ginger ale is gonna be my exception, but only if I'm out to reduce my consumption [since I know many restaurants don't carry it]. I won't buy it to have at home.

Water's been good, and I'm really into candy these days - it's still sugar but it's nowhere near the sugar content of pop.

A couple times per month. Sometimes I'll get a fancy soda if the restaurant has it, and i keep a handful of bottles in my basement for random occasions.

Most often, I'll steal a sip of my spouse's soda when she buys one.

1-2 cans a day during the summer. Something about a cold Coke on a hot day is very satisfying. I dont have soda often the rest of the year, usually just if I go out to eat.

i'm less strict about it nowadays- it used to be literally never

nowadays if i'm tired as shit and see soda in a gas station i'll grab one for the caffeine- they tend to not be as intense as energy drinks or coffee

Yeah, I noticed this with Mountain Dew. They have Diet Mountain Dew and Mountain Dew Zero Sugar co-existing on the market just like with Diet Coke and Coke Zero. I have done a side by side taste test of both Mountain Dew flavors, and I noticed Diet Mountain Dew tastes slightly different from Mountain Dew Zero Sugar.

Mountain Dew Zero Sugar also does a far better job at replicating the original Mountain Dew flavor, where as Diet Mountain Dew is just slightly different.
