A lot 9's and 10's praising its characters, story, world and attention to detail. Seems like the main campaign is more on the short side so that may be a relief for those drenched in other open world games at the moment.

Yeah everything I've seen has been, "this is probably a great game and is still good even with the bugs, but man some of these glitches and bugs are awful".

Similar to The Witcher 3, this sounds like a game that will be worth waiting a few months to play to get the best experience.

eh reviewers have been doing that for decades. Jeff Gerstmann talks about how he powered through all of Ocarina of Time in a weekend to get his review out in time.

Great will get this on PC probably during Easter sale times.

Most of the major bugs should be fixed by then and I can't imagine PC not being the best platform for this.

It would be nice if this good. I have been really worried about it, and every trailer has made me less excited. That long video overview about the gangs really had me worried this game may end up being straight up bad.

Looks like most of my worries can be laid to rest besides it being a buggy nightmare. Hopefully those are nailed out before the PS5 version hits in a couple months.

when the game comes out it's gonna be a wild ride, there's just too much hype for this not to massively disappoint all the joker cosplayers out there

Technically, this game should've come out in March and not have been cross-gen either.

I do not have a gaming PC and only a base XBO model, so I hope it isn't awful. I can deal with some bugs and glitches (as long as it doesn't affect saves or completely breaks something permanently) but I do want it to be playable and not a PowerPoint either.

I don't think reviewers are inheriently problematic, but 50+ hour AAA titles that have limited review windows I am always skeptical on.

Apparently they were given a hard time box of 40 hours to review the game before it came out. How long to beat shows 46 hours for a normal run and 82 hours for main + extras

this led to some critics reviewing the game without mentioning they never finished it which meant they never realized the game was literally unfinished.

the first review pictured there is positive! one somewhat critical paragraph isnt shrieking, you weirdo

and the author of the second one is literally trans, so the trans representation in a game that touted itself as progressive and inclusive about gender stuff is relevant to her. Just because you dont care about it doesnt mean its wrong to discuss.

polygon doesnt even give games scores, so you cant complain that theyre dragging down the metacritic score or whatever.

I'd be surprised is this things looks or runs anywhere close to good off of a base PS4. They pro versions? Who knows, but all the PC reviews all tend to have issues with bugs of some sorts. Not necessarily like game-ending/breaking stuff, just random jank you would tend to experience with a game of this size/things happening.

Overall performance tends to be all over. I've seen some say it dropped frames hard on high end stuff, and some people have said that didn't run into any performance issues at all(or very little) with mid-tier builds.

If it's anything like the Witcher 3. It'll run perfectly fine for everyone in 6-8 months.

I'm not surprised to learn it's buggy and I dont expect the Day 1 patch to fix it all. But the question is how buggy we are talking here. Skyrim bad? Skyrim at launched was the buggy shit I've played but in ways that didn't ruin the experience much. Worse than that and we have issues.

Honestly people nit picking individual reviews is almost exactly why I just believe in statistics and the wisdom of the crowd and base my expectations on the aggregate scores. They all average together.

As I mentioned before for big AAA titles I expect grade inflation, but it's usually pretty accurate.
