I mean, if I'm honest, I disliked her more when she was pretending to be Yda. I am a huge fan of the monk outfit she swapped to. Why did people not like her in Stormblood? Was it because it was, y'know, STORMBLOOD?

I talked this over with Kanzaris a while back, and we came to the conclusion that the Far Eastern part of the story (minus the Steppe) was lackluster, but the quality of the characters carried it. Conversely, the Gyr Abanian half of the story was a pretty decent story dragged down by its lifeless characters, one of whom was Lyse.

So Gosetsu alone? The major Far East characters suck. That's why the filler episode of Azim Steppe steals the show over there.

The Ala Mhigo storyline also has its one good character in Fordola, along with the bulk of Zenos's contribution for whatever that's worth. I much preferred it to the Far East.

Hien is damn good too. Gosetsu absolutely steals the spotlight, as well he should, but Hien is great and criminally underrated. Not to mention Soroban.

Hien I found just as bland during the main story as people say that Lyse is, and his interactions with her (and the entire motivating factor to go find him) feels really forced.

Though I was also pretty neutral on him until they gave him the idiot ball in the patch story. No love for that guy now.

FWIW I agree on Fordola, though she was merely "decent" for 4.0 and got her moment to shine in the patchquests.

Hien's pretty meh, yeah. Honestly didn't really care for Gosetsu either, though part of that was the bad story with Yotsuyu.

I enjoyed the Far East storyline way more than the Gyr Abania storyline. Like, a lot more. Had no idea opinions were divided on it.

Somehow spamming guildheists of all things just came through for me to get me my last 1.5M xp I needed to get my monk to 70 in the middle of the night since HoH queues appeared to be infinite and I had used up my roulettes

(guildheist+comm challenge log entries, not the essentially zero xp from the guildheists themselves)

yeah I'm excited to see how it works

if they fix the issue of forcing everyone to be in the same instance like BA did, that'd basically solve my only complaint with BA. was not fun spending an hour or two entering and exiting hydatos until you got everyone in the same instance, one that hopefully didn't have another group planning to go in!

My understanding is that Delubrum Savage is something you queue for, so theres no worries about instances being an issue nor portal snipers.

They also need to fix Castrum Lacus Litore because that content is dead as hell, and it seems like you will be required to have that completed to unlock the next one. Probably just need to increase the reward payout but I'm not sure how they keep it alive long-term.

Absolutely need to up the rewards and probably nerf the bosses. Giving zero mettle and zero exp is a baffling design decision. Throwing in memories for the relics would also be a good idea.

People needing to do it to access Delubrium will help, but that won't last.

i actually really like adrammelech so i'd be sad if he got nerfed

changing the scaling so the first and last boss could be cleared by 2 light parties would be a good change though. that might actually already be possible, idk i've never tried or looked into it.

I got one party with enough people to hypothetically clear it (20ish) but our dps was imbalanced on the first boss so we wiped

Adrammelech is a super fun boss and shouldn't be touched.

The intermission phase of the last boss should be nerfed a bit to account for disparity in both coordination and skill for what's intended to be a "pickup group raid."

It's going to be the new expac, since Fanfests have all been cancelled. I'm guessing we'll get roughly what was revealed at the first two Fanfests last time around - name drop, some hints about the MSQ, a look at whatever region we're going to, names for the 8 and 24 man raids, at least 1 new job, a beast tribe or two, and probably a bunch of other stuff I can't even think of because it's outside the established pattern.

Yeah, new expansion hype. My only question is if it will be a big reveal or a small one, since when fanfests were a thing they would piece them out over time but we've skipped the first teaser. I think we are overdue for at least one job reveal and a trailer?

We're almost certainly going to end up in Garlemald but given how that plotline is going both in the MSQ and sidequests there will undoubtedly be some sort of swerve we probably won't get to see yet.

As for new jobs I'm expecting a healer and hoping for a caster. Chemist seems to be the fan favorite for healer and I think that's a great choice. Personally for a 4th (non-BLU) Disciple of Magic I'm hoping they do something weird and make a magical melee DPS, like Mystic Knight/Spellblade. Mechanically something like a reverse RDM where you are primarily melee but have some spells. Plus Mystic Knight has sick outfit potential.

Not sure, in the past they said it would only affect a couple of content patches and they'd be able to get the rest on track, but I'm a bit skeptical

Yoshi has said their workflow is now such that they can get new content out in the same amount of time it took them before COVID, but they're never going to get back the 2 months or so they lost. Everything is going to be 2 months later than it would have been before COVID, forever.

Classes shown off in trailer: Chemist, Geomancer, Mystic Knight / Magic Fencer, Paladin (one of the latter two being WoL's expansion class. Zenos will probably be flexing one of them which is probably going to be a new melee dps).

Goin to Sharlayan and/or Meracydia (more likely the former) to deal with the inevitable bullshit that comes from those towers and to find a way to DA MOOON which will be the last location

For the expansion - I would expect Garlemald ruins at this point, given what we've seen so far in the Post-ShB MSQ. Could be a Stormblood situation where there's multiple areas in the expansions instead of all the new zones being on the same continent/region.

I had a good laugh at one point of the Delubrum quest chain, where Lilja nonchalantly shrugs at the notion of Misija accomplishing her goal of becoming Gunnhildr's vessel by pointing out that we'd kick her ass anyways.

Yeah uh...I think I'm going to hold off for a while on the relic until it is nerfed. This is worse than the anima, and I did the unnerfed sand step twice!

The one thing that gives me pause is if I do the next Ultimate, because the relic will certainly be BIS for that. But given that I'm still working on e12s I might not have to worry about that for a while.

I'll do it once for the 'authentic experience', but I'll probably hold off on alt job weapons.
