Also it's a shame you're not playing a physical damage class, as it won't mean much to you when I say that physical skills used to run off of a stamina bar, and it was possible to run out of stamina if you optimized your rotation too efficiently a.k.a. did a good job at playing. It was also tied to Sprinting - using Sprint completely depleted your stamina bar, which meant that physical jobs basically weren't allowed to Sprint in combat.

Early FF14 had a lot of jank that's been improved on since then, which at the very least shows the devs care and are listening.

Here's another random tip: heavily recommend that you zoom out the camera all the way during boss fights. You won't be able to keep up with some mechanics without a bird's-eye view.

Bright side is that being able to beat the enemy anyway means you're doing good on your rotation!

Final step you need 15 items. They drop 100% from Delubrum or low rate from Palace of the Dead.

The best RDM hat is, unfortunately, a BRD/MCH/DNC hat from Crystal Tower. Amon's Hat is glorious and has optional glasses.

I dunno how many more of these beast people are gonna show up later, but this initial batch of the main 3 is ridiculously unbalanced, especially after doing a few missions involving them.

Stupid little mole people.

Annoying squawking bird soldiers.

Fucking badass ripped God lizards.

If Amaljaa were a playable race you bet your ass I would have picked that.

The Ixal quests are by far the best of the ARR tribes, but unfortunately you will have to become a crafter to do them and I would not recommend going down that rabbit hole anytime soon.

The kobolds are also pretty fun! The Amalj'aa have an interesting setup but honestly I think their potential gets wasted. It's an issue with most of the nonhumanoid races.

Actually, what is the deal with all the stuff like weavers and alchemists? Do they not fight? I agent looked into that aspect at all.

No, they are strictly crafting or gathering classes, but theyre also full fledged jobs with quest lines and leveling and gear and stuff. As mentioned, I wouldnt worry too much about them right now, its extremely not necessary.

I agree that kobolds are lame, but FFXIV goblins are adorable

Leveling crafters/gatherers is actually pretty easy now with Ishgardian Restoration; definitely faster than leveling a combat class! The only thing I'd classify is crazy is trying to get a Saint title (I got just over 50k points doing expert crafts for the third season, which was good for 20th place but only about 1/6th of the way to 12th place by points. And let me tell you that doing any more expert crafts would have driven me insane!)

Yeah I think you need a level 60 character (though I don't think it has to be a crafter/gatherer?)

Well not just that but I'm reasonably sure you have to have completed at least the 3.0 story, maybe even the patch story.

Too much crafting/gathering quality of life stuff is locked behind Heavensward main story stuff anyways, I really wouldn't recommend trying to do it earlier.

Diadem chat is basically Barrens Chat of a new age, anyways. It's good to throw on a playlist around it for an hour or so and not take it too seriously.

Unless you want to go for fishing achievements, you absolute madman (but then, why would you level fishing there when Ocean Fishing in Limsa is a thing?)

I went from level 1 to 80 on FSH almost exclusively from Ocean Fishing over the course of about a week. I wouldn't have come remotely close to level capping without it.

It's actually really easy once you hit 60 because you get access to the gathering tribes quests which are extremely efficient. But before that it was leve and collectible spamming before they added ocean fishing, which was not fun.

Oh and custom deliveries, tons of exp from that and you could even start those at 50. I did 70-80 around Shadowbringers release, before ocean fishing, just by doing turn-ins on fisher every week and of course the crystarium quests which are each like a whole level.

I signed my son up for the free trial recently but he couldnt get on my world the first night...then the next day we tried again and he could.

Congested worlds never accept new characters. Standard and preferred worlds sometimes don't accept new characters - it depends on how many people are currently connected. For future reference, if you want to make a character on a popular (but not congested) server, try doing it either early in the day or late at night. Attempting to make a character anywhere between after school hours to whenever most people go to bed it going to be a crapshoot, but if you can stay up (or wake up) at like, 2 in the morning you should encounter no issues.
