Do you look at that data of surging sterilizations and plummeting birthrates (undisputed by the Chinese government) and say "hmm, this sure seems like a totally natural result of Uygher women drastically changing their minds about having kids starting around 2016"?

Yeah it's that and a result of China's regular non-genocidal birth control policies. The birth rate did not "plummet" and Xinjiang's growth rate is still higher than the national average

You might notice that birthrates around the world fall as civilizations get more technologically advanced

I guess China just released all the Uyghur prisoners from the concentration camps so they could star in that dude's video. See where I'm going with this? maybe qanon was a bad comparison. This is more like thee moon-landing deniers.
You mean to assert that every single Uighur made an appearance in that video? That's far crazier than anything we're declaring.

There is no corresponding drop in non-Uygher births or increase in non-Uygher sterilizations (in fact, there is a drop for the latter).

the more authoritarian, the better. matters the most for internal results, real or fake (see: North Korea, 97%+ approval ratings for commie dictators).
the more money, the better. matters the most for interfering outside of the country.
imperialism has faded more but there's still weight to that too on both inside and out.

so the US has a high level on the last two but China's 3/3 because they're the one country where that hasn't faded and instead grown. whether it's trying to take those islands, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the border on India, or colonizing a third of Africa, they've got everyone else combined beat.

Genocide includes forced sterilization, etc:

I'll grant you that colloquially when people say 'genocide' they almost always mean mass murder of a group.
And? What does this have to do with my comment that people in this topic don't know what genocide is?

this is obviously impossible, but I think it is pretty clear to any serious reader of this topic how much the perceived negative aspects of other countries are considered moral imperatives, or damning in comparison to the negative aspects of the actual country we live in, which are always hand-waved away and downplayed or dismissed. just look at the previous post suggesting that somehow NK has the most illegitimate approval ratings while also claiming that more money = more manufactured consent. The super wealthy in this country have many, many times over the amount to spend on fooling us than the other countries elite do. And a corporate news environment will always favor the most favorable conditions for that very same corporate news environment.

It would, but his supporters and the people who honestly believe that Biden didn't win the election are so stupid that they think this is a sign that there was fraud, not proof that they're desperately looking for it.

But I mean, it is? If you want to be 100% cynical and dishonest you could say it's "only" because we're highlighting the atrocities committed by the Trump administration but that a majority of the discussion is on their actions is because... well... that's the administration that's been in power over the life of this topic series.

We do talk about the should-be-war-crimes perpetuated largely through drones that occurred under Obama (and expanded under Trump lest we act like we somehow "improved" in this regard - we most definitely have not.) The hundreds of thousands of deaths under the War on Terror, and for more historical actions the treatment of Native Americans. Just not as much because generally this topic talks about current news.

Nah. Sorry friend, there is a difference between fascism and not. Biden will put people in his cabinet that even if they suck by my standards are better than say Betsy devos, an actual ghoul. We have more progressive members of congress than ever, more progressive policies are being passed. FDR and LBJ did not campaign on reform and civil rights, it was after they were in office that they bent to the will of the people. I picked who I wanted to fight, and it wasn't the fascist. Any other opinion is just stupid. Sorry!

You're the one who doesn't want to change anything. You just want to sit up the moral high ground and say "I didn't vote for Joe Biden!" as if that actually accomplishes anything. It doesn't accomplish a damn thing. And it's time people stop pretending that it did.

Biden hasn't DONE much of anything anything yet to turn on - yet despite that there has been plenty of criticism of his potential cabinet picks and "unity" plan and stuff like that. There was plenty of criticism of his past record during the primary and except for the like two people who actually support Biden most people are on the same page.

Your position isn't unique, you're just angrier about it

One vote here, and one vote there adds up quickly over time. And if you can't vote for Joe Biden, I can't imagine you voting for other moderate dems in seats in the house, congress, state level and local level. And it also means for all your political advocacy, you don't turn out the vote like Stacey Abrams did in Georgia, which helped win Georgia for Biden and kept the Senate Seats in play.

And political advocacy is meaningless if the people in charge aren't willing to listen. Republicans are never and will never be willing to listen. The Democrats at least evolve on their issues, even if it takes a long time. And Republicans, for the worst, bring out the worst in people by appealing to their most base and vile beliefs. They make it okay.

so the answer is no, you could not find a state where voting for a rapist war criminal would have made anyone's life better, but you still defended doing so. you also have no idea what state I live in, what my political advocacy was, or what a difference it could have made. I didn't vote for any Republicans, nor did any of my advocacy focus on helping Republicans get elected. Maybe if less people were willing to settle for Democrats, we could actually accomplish anything.
