lower attack speed doesn't mean less damage dealt though; every attack in every character's attack chain has a specific multiplier on your attack statistic. for characters like xiangling that attack really fast, it's like 20-40% per hit; for noelle, it's like 80-120% per hit

Right now I just really need higher damage output because I cant reach Floor 5 of Spiral Abyss until I can get more stars on Floor 4. The damn barrier Mages just make any timed stuff annoying.

the key is taking advantage of the ley line disorders. floor 4 is electric focused with water enemies, so tldr the damage bonuses stack to where electrocharged does 4.4x the damage it would normally do. most of the enemies already have wet applied to them 24/7, so the ideal setup in there would be two lightning characters to spam electrocharged and one water to apply wet to everyone that's not wet.

you can also just wait and powercreep it via brute force. eventually fischl will become so nutty she can solo pretty much the entire floor

i just haven't even tried spiral abyss since like week 2, the rewards aren't going anywhere till i'm able to beat floor 9 anyways

and floor 9 is two level 70 bosses lol

Klee seems like her playstyle would be right up my alley, but I just really don't wanna waste what few primogems I have left on such a small chance, and the 4* units in that banner are not interesting to me in the slightest.

My main team is Razor/Fischl/Qiqi/Venti. I sub in Kaeya and Xiangling a lot, though. Other than them, Barbara and MC are the only two characters I've leveled past level 20. Venti is my only character ascended past level 50. Either Fischl or Qiqi will be next. Maybe. This game was a loooooot more fun to me when I could just wander around and find a bunch of shit everywhere.

the worst part of spiral abyss is that to unlock floor 8 you need to get 6 stars in floor 7.

Which is actually not that easy unless you have two fairly decent teams.

the main things i'm being gated by are electric shields because both ice characters are sub level 20, and not having a good second healer (Noelle really doesn't cut it). so far i've just gotten by with keqing dodging damage with the i-frames on her ult spam

even without bomb suction they work well together, because venti works well with everyone by default

I've seen people champion Sucrose. She seems to be very hit or miss. I'd gather a few opinions before you dismiss her. Personally, I don't think I'll be interested in acquiring her, but she can be very strong under the right circumstances, and IIRC she gives a ton of elemental mastery to the group.

The dialogue is nothing particularly amazing. It functions. There are definitely spots where it excels, due in part to some pretty nice worldbuilding. The combat is passable...some characters will play better than others, though enough investment and a deep understanding of the mechanics should enable anyone to excel, sometimes to a pretty nutty degree.

I guess it depends on what you're wanting to get out of the game. I'm still enjoying the simple act of climbing up and gliding around a visually appealing landscape. Frankly, I've never played a game that was such a good simulation of what it would be like to have ADHD. You set out to collect some of the regional collectables, but there are some enemies around a chest. No big deal, you'll just beat them up and wait a tick, there's a ghost that needs to be guided back to its home. Simple enough, but its home was right next to this puzzle that needs solving. Off a way in the distance is some funny little shrine that needs a key to get into that you don't have, but next to it there's a lot of shiny rocks that you can break that will surely be useful and what were you even doing out here again?

Cly: The day I enjoyed the game the most was the day I decided it was time to explore the map in the second nation, and I just worked my way across the beginning areas of the map, bit by bit, uncovering all the secrets.

I dumped nearly all the resources I'd been farming for the last 5 levels into bringing Traveler and Banjo-Kazooie up to 70. Their talents aren't maxed, but I've upped the important ones. I need a better weapon for Fischl, though, and I didn't touch artifacts. I've just been collecting all the 3* drops and the odd 4 until I decide to go nuts. It probably wouldn't be wise to wait until I get higher quality stuff, but I'm going to try to hold out, I think.

Question about elemental mastery, because I've heard conflicting info: Is it the person who initiates the elemental combo that needs the mastery, or the finisher?

If you upgrade artifacts and then funnel that suped-up artifact into a newer better artifact, it'll level it up as if you had used all the original artifacts, I believe. At least whenever I auto-level, it tries to use my +6 artifact not on someone and it levels the new one up by 6.

dunno if artifact exp is 100% transferred but it does seem to be most of it, so i'm raising my 4* to +8/+12 without feeling guilty about it

finisher needs EM, all statuses are equal after they've been applied

but you'll probably occasionally end up accidentally finishing on your openers if you're using someone like xiangling or xingqiu, so having some EM on them doesn't hurt

swirl doesn't stick, so it can only be used as a finisher

you aren't able to really cause a huge number of reactions with mc like you can with other characters though, and swirl to begin with has a very low multiplier, so i wouldn't invest heavily on EM if you're using MC has a carry. the swirl won't scale with most offensive stats like atk. your reaction damage will have to come elsewhere in the team

MC will get a whole lot better when we open up more elemental options for her/him. Probably gonna be a long while for that though.

honestly i'm kind of impressed that he's not shit tier as is

both wind and geo versions of him are viable, and the geo ver is still the best secondary geo support in the game..... for the two other geo units we have...........................

Granted, this is probably Klee, but better (for me). I was completely unprepared to get Diluc instead, though. I *guess* the right choice is to swap out Traveler? With Fischl and Xiangling, "Anemo" is the stock 4th finisher, but most of the time I want to have a healer. Plus, my Anemo isn't Venti.

i personally like anemo/diluc/fischl/healer slightly more than xiangling/diluc/fischl/healer since an anemo can actually do some good damage to someone suffering from fire and electric. (And while i dont love mcs anemo ult i really like her e ability once leveld)

Xiangling is good but imo her abilities are decent but its really her autoattacks that make her shine, but your going to want to be autoing with diluc.

imo raise 5 characters as your main core, and swap out the 4th between support and healer depending on content (remember you can pawn off unwanted artifacts onto barbara cuz she likes hp). once you're outpacing world content you actually literally don't need healing because everything just dies before it can think about touching you. a lot of bosses also can be beaten fairly reliably without taking damage (looking at you lightning elemental. not looking at you, oceanid <_<)

in the short term there actually is no merit to having an anemo support btw, you need the 4pc set to make them worthwhile. so for now, if you don't have that, MC is definitely the best choice to eject. unsure if traveller with the 4pc would be worthwhile for overworld content that you're generally steamrolling too fast to apply res to, but they are definitely worth it for bosses
