Yeah A Realm Reborn and Heavensward are free but you have to pay to play anything after that, which is Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and later this year Endwalker. The free trial is HUGE though. That is hundreds of hours of content you can just go play right now.

I assume the last 3 are from Zadnor. The card packs will be annoying and expensive. The dungeon and trial ones will be annoying and time consuming. I'm fairly certain there are NPCs in Kugane that drop the Eureka cards I need, but that will take forever to get them that way. Winning the Tournament... I *might* be able to do that, but fuck that lol
Overall this is very very doable, but it will be time consuming.

The stupid padding quests are finally done for the relic line. Now I just need to grind some things.

- Castrum Milk for that last achievement clear (and hopefully lost actions give me ones I use).
- DR 39 more times (second gabriel, up to 630k mettle a clear, artifacts for 515 step, two items per clear for 535 step, achievement)
- Dalriada 49 more times (hoverbike, 3.3mil mettle a clear, three 535-relic drops a clear, achievement)
- Some more mettle and lost actions along the way.

As long as I don't die ever, which is unlikely due to accidents and connection issues, DR and Dal alone should give 186,270,000 mettle (excluding Castrum's low amount) and 225 of the relic item. That means I can expect 27 more proofs by the end of my relic grind. This means I'll have more than enough items for fifteen of seventeen relics--so I'll need to do lv70 dungeons or HoH for the rest--and have 3/3/9 (HP/Heals/Dmg) on my Honors. That isn't counting what I will earn along the way between Skirmishes, CEs, and whatever dungeons Mentor gives.

Then I guess I'll go ahead and do my duels while I work toward additional mettle. Whether I or someone else I witness win a duel, that will be a nice buff for an hour that doubles the gain of mettle, too. So we'll see how things go. But doing those duels with 9 Honors in outgoing damage will be nice - 45% boost.

I stepped into Zadnor this morning. In a single 3 hour lockout I went from Rank 12 to almost 21 lol

Also I only need 4 cards. Varis and the 3 from completing Zadnor.

Meanwhile, it turns out the reason I'm missing field notes comes down to rng being a little heavy-handed in some skirmishes or CEs. If rng wasn't such a butt and a half, I'd have that hover cycle from XII already.

LOL! So a couple of the i525 pieces for healer, from Zadnor, are leaps and bounds better than the crafted i510s - the gloves and pants. I grabbed those, glamoured and melded them, and put them on. So my Whm is sitting at i519 at the moment, with the relic upgrade a stone's throw away and the chestpiece from Tower being some rng tomfoolery away. Hopefully I'll have the relic done before I run the NieR raids tomorrow, because then I'll at least feel like I'm doing a lot to make those things go faster.

Once I get the piece I want from the third raid, I'm switching to my summer glam for healers. =)

With an active party and no duel buff? A z3 group can get you from 22 to 25 in a single lockout, and hanging out in z2 (plus CEs) will get you from 21 to 22 in a mere fraction of the time. Then comes the wait for Dal, which is faster if people are actively doing stuff in Zadnor, and a single run can take roughly half an hour. So let's say about five hours from r21 to the ending cutscenes of the Bozjan story.

It really is. I'm missing Lyon II from duels and Dal, Dyunbu from two or three skirmishes in Southern Front, and a couple others. Hopefully I will get them soon.

Got my VI-S this morning from Unreal! I don't know if I want to get the Incitatus next or just get to 600 leves and then I can buy the next mount in however many months. And tomorrow I'll be stepping back into Bozja and hopefully Castrum to start getting the Field Notes I'm missing.

Also I've been watching Bellular's daily clips talking about his experience playing XIV. He straight up said "if you're playing XIV like WoW and you don't like it, the problem is you're playing it like WoW and not like a video game." lol Also Asmongold said he wants to play XIV which is interesting, but I also don't want to see a bunch of toxic 14 year olds running around spewing shit. But it's cool to see the game exploding right now, and the more mainstream exposure it gets, the better imo. I remember when I started playing there were only like a couple hundred thousand active players. There's 2.5 million active players at the moment, which is crazy to me.

I joined a PF party for their last run of DR for the evening. We beat it in 19 minutes and 45 second, as opposed to the usual 35 minute average from queuing in like normal. Watching the enemies melt so fast they could barely do their mechanics was great.

Went into Bozja. I only got 2 new field notes, but, they were both used to complete the first page so that's progress. I still need like 17 though so this is going to be a long haul lol

Thanks to the runs of Dalriada I have been doing, I have some nice 525 gear for some of my jobs. Four more coins until Dragoon has some decent pants.

On that note, I should have to upgrade the Cryptlurker ring Sam, Mnk, and Drg wear so I can buy another and fill the second slot with a 520 at least. Then I just need to replace the 440 neck and wrist for them, as well as the hands and . . . either pants or boots for the two Striking jobs (I forget which slot). I'm fairly certain it's the shoes, because I might be wearing the decent pants from Paradigm's Breach? Anyways, if need be, I will wait for the i515 gear to come out in EW, make those missing slots, and go that route.

Now if only tanks had a wider selection of decent gear outside of Savage raiding. The fact that my tanks will finish this expansion below 520 average bothers me, but not enough to go do the third tier Savage fights when I have so much else that takes more priority, like getting the 15k score achievement from Ocean Fishing. <_<

Is it weird that while everyone is jumping ship from WoW to play FFXIV, I'm morbidly curious to buy a WoW sub and check it out? Like I've played it a little bit before. I played it when Classic launched. I didn't get to 60 in Classic, but I remember I really really enjoyed my time with it. And a couple times that month I played retail and I remember retail being really weird. Like "3 million people play this game? where the hell is everyone?!" and that leveling was so fast, and rewards were dished out so frequently it felt like it was designed like a mobile game despite being a pay to play game. It was really weird.

The golden age of WoW ended when Mists of Pandaria came out. Like if I were to hop myself on excessive painkillers and spend time I don't have on any form of WoW again, it'd be Classic BC or Classic WotLK, as that was when the game was at its best of the two times I played it. For years people have wondered if any new game would be a "WoW killer," but the irony was that WoW killed WoW.

I am so annoyed with the four field notes I have remaining. Like, I have better things to do with my time than hang out in z2 of Zadnor for a skirmish that may or may not spawn, fight it, and then NOT get the desired drop for the umpteenth time. The other three, at least, can come from the duels, so there's a chance I'll get them there. But we should have to; drop rates should not be this low. Especially in Zadnor where people are bound to be hanging out anyway to get our Honors, because that's another grind as well. Never we mind the relic drops people need. <_<

Speaking of which, I am currently at 132/180 Loathsome Memories, 22/195 Timeworn Artifacts (possibly the worst repeatable step of this relic line), and 50/210 Raw Memories. Once I have those desired numbers, I will finish the remaining relic weapons.

I got my Drg pants from Zadnor today. I upgraded the Striking ring like I said I'd do and grabbed another 520 one, so next week I'll do the same for casters. Then I will consider between the HQ 515 gear this late autumn on the remaining slots, or just filling them up with augmented Cryptlurker stuff so I won't have to spent time or effort gearing up alt jobs for the first few levels into the expansion. Once I get the caster ring done next week, however, I'm upgrading the 520s my Ninja is wearing over the course of four weeks.

The day before servers go down in preparation for open bet-- I mean Early Access, I will throw all of my belts at Maelstrom, pick up some extra Dark Matter, and make sure all else is done beforehand as far as running content goes. Aetheryte Tickets ought to be well-stocked too. Then I can hit the ground running . . . at least until Raubahn once again stops everyone single-handedly. =p

Yeah as long as you unlock the areas, then in Kugane NPCs will drop the cards from those areas, and the drop rate is stupid high, even for the "rare" cards.
