I mean i'm good at games like this and rocked the original PSO and the diff seems fine to me. If you know how to play i'm sure it's cake, but for new players there is plenty of difficulty.

I think it's more about knowing how to gear but I don't feel like I know how to play, thats the problem. I still use the wrong ability by accident like 70% of the time and miss time my dodges and counters almost 100% of the time but damage was too low to force me to adapt and fights were too fast to try and manually adapt. I also think braver might be part of the problem. Thriving bellflower is just too good for the unaggressive enemies on normal and hard. Every fight is dash into the middle of enemies, use thriving bellflower once. Instantly everything is dead. Move to next group. Now on VH I have to use like 5 of those to kill the higher tier normal enemies and I feel like using higher damage but harder to use moves has a point which is awesome because the braver has really fun to use moves.

You can use morning mistreaver and dodge jump cancel before the attack part to be insanely mobile and its so fun just zooming everywhere all the time. You can juggle enemies nocturnal blossom and halt your fall with either thriving bellflower quickly or cherry blossom finale slowly but for more damage and you can end the juggle with lunar flourishing and its just great.

I also realized you can block cancel out of basically everything instantly and have no idea why it was hard for me yesterday. Dodge canceling still has a ton of positioning uses but I'm focusing even harder on countering now. It's making me dislike most monster attacks though. They all pretty much have a giant long tell that ends in a lightning quick unreactable attack so it's just a timing minigame essentially.

Stupid question, sorta, but is the monthly premium pass worth it?

Whats in it?

if its the same premium deal as jp, it gives you priority access to blocks (normal users can't enter a block once it's past like 90% full or something), 30 days of my room and my shop access (good for first month, but once you get going you'll be able to keep them up as long as you want without much effort), access to better drinks that can give better effects (largest atk or HP boosts for main effect usually best, and the secondary effect can include rare drop rate or exp up), more fun points, max of 40 CO's accepted at once instead of 20 (probably one of the biggest effects of premium), pso2 day bonuses (once a month, but i forget what they are), player to player trading, and more login stamps

if its that battle pass shit i have no clue cuz thats new to na

as for if premium was worth it, first month absolutely if you know you'll be playing a lot (but buy 50 inventory slots and maybe another mag first, they're still more important). afterwards, I'd get it if i was feeling super in the mood for pso2. sometimes you just wanna log in for one urgent quest a day; premium is nice there but might not be worth the investment.

premium used to be god tier before we got multi block matching and people would camp out certain high population blocks a full hour before an urgent quest, but that's not an issue anymore and block access is just icing

Been playing all day, got to 20 for my sub class, but mostly was trying out the other classes. My other 2 char slots open up tomorrow so I really wanted to get a feel for all the classes.

My least favorite so far have been:

Summoner. As ages mentioned above I think, with only 1 summon and some blah spells, just not fun to play at first. Maybe later when I have more stuff figured out, but I highly doubt it.

Fighter. I actually usually like dual daggers, fists/gauntlets, twin swords etc. I like faster attacks and manuverability. Sadly that just doesn't seem to translate very well for fighter from the experience I had. It probably changes later, more than likely if you have a high melee damage boost on your mag already, and boosts from skills and sub class, the multiple hits will end up doing more damage. Instead, I found the fighter took about 2x as long as the hunter or braver to kill the same monster with an equivalent weapon. Wasn't fun.

Gunner!!! No, No NO!! I wanted to love the hunter. I was seriously considering just going gunner/ranger main because with a cowboy hat and 2 guns, I woulda just felt badass and loved my char...but nope. I tried it and I pretty much totally and completely hate twinguns. The SECOND tier twinguns seem to kill slower than the first tier machinegun from ranger, and ranger also has the insanely good launcher. I just can't enjoy gunner and I'm sad about that more than anything else.

My Favorites, and a shocker here.

Hunter/braver combo is awesome, I don't know which I'll main. I need dex for the braver katanas though and I have been going pure melee so far. I have a rare weapon for both and they both eat things up. Hunter looks like it might be more defensive but I think you can get most of that defense from having it as a sub. Meanwhile braver gets Katana and longbow...which both rock. My favorite is the wiredaggers though...but I don't have a rare so I've been using the sword instead, which while clunky/slow, still hits multiple enemies and currently does an insane amount of damage. I'm gonna go this combo with the beast girl I have currently on ship 1.

Ranger to me is insane. I don't know, I still don't have a rare machine gun, just a tier 2 one, but even without that it whipes everything out faster than my hunter (who is also a higher level). The launcher is nice as well, but my machine gun kills everything so fast while I'm moving at full speed, and I can target weak points so easy, that my only actual objection is everything seems a bit too easy with him, even without good weapons (And I'm still using the starting armor mostly btw).

But the third most favorite has been the Force. At first I was like Meh, but I got more spells (like Rabarta) found out about charging (which was probably why I hated it at first) and even kinda like the ranged attack thing that lets you cast at a distance (mind you I don't find it very useful for casting, but it's great to use to attack things while Rabarta is hitting everything around you etc).

I wanna hit the daily quests on all 3 chars every day probably but I'm not sure who I want to make as my main character, especialy since we are supposed to be getting constant content till december. I may not be able to keep up with all 3. The force is really fun, but I can see it getting difficult to play solo later on. The hunter/braver is strong and fun, but has to be in melee on the bosses which is significantly more difficult (although the defenses you get might make that not as important). I got universal directional block though and a few other things from the skill tree now that does make him more defensive, and his rare sword just destroys stuff.

But the ranger (other then having to level gunner as his sub class..although I could just use exp tickets etc to get his level up instead) may be the best choice if there is hard content coming up, since it seems to be waaay easier to just breeze through stuff with him, and I don't even have a ranged mag (a pure melee one that is around level 40 now (it evaolved awhile ago to get a PA as well).

Anyway, really enjoying the game. Summonger/gunner were dissapointing, and fighter just didn't compare (for me) to hunter or braver at all. I have not tried the jet boots bouncer class yet either....perhaps I will eventually.

I've been playing more on very hard and it's a lot of fun. Was getting a bit worried I just wasn't going to have much fun in general but this is nice. Fought a chrome dragon (although the code lady said haze drawl but it definitely was just the normal chrome dragon) and some of the nightfall bosses which was cool. I'm getting MUCH better at parrying. You can hit block like surprisingly early and still get it. Once you really get into the flow though and just smash face only stopping for an instant to parry it feels so fun.

I've also almost died like 4 times now (although iron will is indeed broken). I managed to craft the hp regen ring although I'm not sure I've seen it activate. Up to level 44/26. I've done a few advanced quests which seemed pointless outside of the 50 billion photon boosters everything drops. No idea what to even do with those. Probably need to check the exchange shop. Completed bingo.

Out of curiosity, will the AI revive me if I go down? Also at what point roughly can I start getting 10* weapons? Oh and finally whats the deal with the negative photon back armor thats 10* but weak as hell. The description seems to imply it's got some hidden power and it's weird that it's significantly weaker than 7* stuff so I'm wondering if you can like eventually upgrade it to be good.

Woah wtf, I can trade in the photon boosters I got from just 2 advanced quests for an 11* katana? I don't have the mel power to equip it yet but that seems way too easy. It's a lot stronger than what I have. I got 72 boosters from 2 quests and you only need 50 for the katana. That seems too easy, I must be missing something.

I have full 9* gear except the bow. Currently I have:
Salizania+10
Longbow

Weapon barrier+7 (which is OP, I got it so early but it's still my strongest piece)
Vent Hexa+5
Fegari Piece+5

HP Restorate(R)+1

How long is the story btw? It's just an endless barrage of loading screens and then like 5 lines of dialogue and then more loading screens. I'm just wondering how long each episode is.

I have finally died. Dark falz arm on very hard bopped me. It seems like I get some pretty godlike weapons if I keep doing the dark falz elder EQ. That EQ was the first time I've had a party that kinda struggled. After a lot of attacks I'd see like 5+ people dead. Free FUN farm I guess. A bit sad I didn't get any weapons I can use but then again I don't have the reqs to use anything much better than I have now. Need to feed my mag more.

1's the longest and most boring (it only truly gets good right near the end), 2 is immediately interesting and 3 is a big ole ride. i dunno exact time but i imagine you could finish each one in 3-8 hours or something? episode 1 has about 10 chapters

I actually meant the follow up elder fight. He did the sweeping beam and I saw I think 8 bodies afterwards. I always pop katana combat during then since I can rail on the weakspot so I was always invincible through it. It really made me feel like I was heavily contributing. I wouldn't be surprised if I was top 3 damage in that run compared to some runs where I feel like I might as well have afked because some 75/75 with +35 weapon ends the fight in 5 seconds.

I did have trouble looking up the story but yeah it seems episode 1 is 10 chapters and I'm on the quest of chapter 4. I'm debating on if I want to start skipping everything but so far I'm trying not to.

Did another dark falz hand into elder. Getting more badges. I've got like 8 rising weapon 1 badges and you only need 20 for the 12* nox weapons. I've also got 16 irista astarite or whatever it's called and 50 of em give me a 13* weapon. It seems the photon booster weapons that are 11* are not class locked either which is cool.

Up to level 47. Leveling has definitely slowed WAY down in the mid 40s. I only got a level and a half for half an hour of spamming the dark falz hand. One fight actually lasted like 4 seconds. I wonder how. This group also mowed down elder much easier.

It annoys me that I can't counter while invincible from katana combat but I guess being able to freely spam out damage is already OP. I hope we get some harder EQs soon or I guess I should be calling them UQs now although that probably sounds like it's ultimate quests. Wonder why they went with urgent instead of emergency.

No one else playing I guess. The story is feels soooo long. I'm about half way through chapter 9. The builds really starting to come together and I do feel almost unkillable with almost maxed automate half and iron will and healing reversal and healing guard and healing ring and healing mag stuff and invincibility from katana combat, mag, and iron will. Was able to facetank my way through 3 bosses at the same time when everyone else left during the forest 1000 point UQ.

Half way through 49 so super hard is pretty soon. I'm so close to a lot of strong weapons from badges and astarite and stuff which is good cause I really feel like my damage is starting to fall off since I've been using the same weapon for like 20 levels.

Yeah, seems to only be a few of us.

I made all 3 of my chars to 20+ now. Did the force today. Finished all daily/weekly missions on them as well (so gotz da money).

I'm liking my force alot, she is rocking the damage pretty hard. I'm curious about a summoner/force combo though, since it looks like summoner can still cast spells with wands AND gets...well a summon lol, and the force skills would boost the spell damage just fine.....might be the best of both worlds (have not played with summoner much yet).

I'm thinking that might be a better combo than summoner/tech but I'm gonna do some research.

Funnily enough my first char (the hunter main) is my highest level, and has the best weapon, but is actually the weakest over all, because melee is just slower/harder to use and you get pounded more lolz. I'm still using basic armor on all my chars so if I get better armor for him and he takes less damage...that will probably change.

The ranger does consistent damage while constantly moving, which is easy, but....almost too easy, I can see myself getting bored with him.

The force on the other hand with charged spells does the hardest hits, but not sure if over time she is doing more or less than the ranger (kinda hard to tell right now...and I have not chosen an element to specialize in (also her mag is way lower than the other two mags since she just started).

I've been just spamming Foi (charged) on the bosses and smaller enemies and it one shots all the small stuff, and does 2k+ (for now) on the big stuff..which is a decent amount. I have not chosen between the tail or scepter but i'm thinking I will probably go Tail even though I don't use it for range attacks often, because it's easier to regen PP by normal attacking with it. I have rabarta on my rb button for groups of enemies as well.....and just those 2 seem to pretty much deal with everything.

My resta barely heals like 46 hp though, which is totally not enough lolz.

Anyway another day of playing gone, and i'm done with most of the newbie quests on all 3, so can start moving forward past the 3rd area etc.

Still have some major decisions long term for all 3 chars (although pretty much set on Ranger main for my gun character, and probably hunter as suggested by Ages for his sub (for the defensive bonuses I'm guessing).

My melee char is ugh tbh....right now at least..he has to actually GET to enemies to hurt em, and without defenses yet, he takes alot of damage on bosses (even though his weapon whacks em pretty fast). I don't know if i'll go with hunter main or Braver yet......Braver could at least have the option of some semi decent ranged, but requires alot more dex...which I have not been boosting at all.

Finally my force char who is so fun (and I still have lots of techs to get and try), requires, I think, the most skill to play..which I like. It has a really cool dodge as well, and at least in theory eventually resta will heal more than it does right now and actually be semi-useful. She is my baby/newbie but lots of fun and has great potential (also so many really useful skills lol...no way to run out). I saw some other chars with cool looking summons as well, so possibly eventually transitioning her into a summoner with force as backup could be awesome.

I'm pretty sure you go hunter sub because fury stance gives you 45% damage boost. Automate half and iron will are broken OP though.

I finally finished episode 1 of the story. Chrome dragon is fun to fight although super easy with braver since he attacks with combos that are perfect for parrying.

I also did dark falz luther (and now that I finished episode 1 I see why that translation is an obvious spoiler) on very hard and oh boy. For some reason people started the quest with only 8 people there but it was a weak 8 people. I was the only one that didn't die in the 20 or so minute fight (iron will procced once cause I could break the sword and didn't have katana combat up). I was soloing it for about half the fight but I was trying to break open the clock and never managed to (I think thats how it works but maybe I was just wasting my time). I ran out of moons after only like 5 minutes so people must have been using scrape dolls after that because frequently luther would do an attack I would counter and then I turn the camera and see all 7 other people dead on the floor.

I had been feeling really weak and sick so I was lowkey hoping to just leach my way through the quest but clearly fate had other plans. Anyway I eventually killed it and got meh drops. It seems 50 of his astarite gives me 12* bow and 50 of elder's gives me the katana but I never use bow really. I'm also up to 13 rising weapon 1 badges so only 7 more before I get a Nox katana which seems to the be the best thing I'll get for a while. I've only got 1 of the 100 rising 2 badges and only like 40 of 500 unique weapon badges.

I filled my 200 storage up already mostly with rares. I'm not sure if I should be saving them for enchantment fodder for other classes or selling them or what. I also have no real clue how the transfer affix thing works and I've got several weapons with mark joy or anger which would be great to throw on other gear.

Finally I'm like 99% of the way to level 50. It seems braver is a super common class as I see maybe 50% of people using it. Every UQ has me and several other bravers flying around with the dash and slash move. I never see anyone else get focus so I'm not sure if no one else counters or if it just doesn't show on other people.

Ah nice, damage and defense from hunter.

Yeah I did the UA with Dark falz luther with all 3 of my characters. I had to do it a few times with only 2 other players because it was late (I guess) or because I was only in my 20's and most other players were higher level or something).

I fought...some other boss once though, he was HUGE and did this attack where he summons a ton of swords (huge ones) that instantantly killed all of us. The other fights (with the guy that just shoots out lots of red orbs and then has like 4 towers apear around the corners) were pretty easy. My force did a freakton of damage to him while constantly moving/dodging. My hunter hard the hardest time but still did good damage, and the ranger just slept through it while constantly attacking lol.

This did give me the weekly quest for 90k meseta for all 3 of my chars though (along with 200k for each for enhancing an item). Having 3 chars is certainly going to help with money.

I messed up and took a tail bonus or two on the tree (not too many it was 1 point wonders) but realize now I can shoot with a rod, and that defeats any reason for me to use the other weapon. Oh well, it's just a couple points.

Finally unlocked and did a super hard mission (facility exploration) and damn that was intense. Had a bar lodos into bar lodos code and each of those fights took like 10 minutes. Dude was beefy. All sorts of enemies I've never seen before and all kinds of attacks and chaos. I think they should delete normal, retitle hard to easy, very hard to normal, and super hard to hard. That would feel right considering theres also extreme hard and ultimate quests later.

I am freaking invincible though. It's like 35% of the time I'm actually invulnerable, then the rest of the time I have tons of i-frames and parry frames which heal me, if I get hit I get healed, if i get low I get healed by ring and automate half, if I would die I have a 75% chance to instead be invincible for 20 seconds with no cooldown. I did almost run out of mates on that mission although that was like 30 minutes of straight fighting. Only 3 trimates at the end. I'm having a ton of fun although for my health I probably need to take more breaks.

Oh, i also spent some of my SG to get the gold mission pass. Apparently that normally pays for itself although since we started half way through the pass we can only get back like half. That gave me some more badges and I'm torn. I'm at 18 rising 1 so I could grab nox katana after 1 more UQ but people are saying the armor for 40 is actually amazing and lasts you much longer than the weapons. I'm still leaning towards grabbing the weapon though since it'll overpower everything I can buy until I get 500 unique weapons badges and I feel like by that point I'll probably have just gotten a better drop.

That is dark falz luther. You might have been thinking of elder earlier who has all the hands.

EDIT: Also when he freezes everyone for that attack, mash like you were stunned to get unstuck and then quickly destroy a sword. Negative energy will rain down on any area with a sword so if you just break one, you can all stand in that quarter of the arena and be fine. I think you can also i-frame the time freeze thing too but I'm not sure. Also if you have any form of invulnerability, you can just pop that and not die (like using photon blast). Probably worth saving for then if you have a weak party that might not be able to break the swords.

Whelp, I have become powerful. Did a mining defense on super hard which was hard indeed. We won with like 10% left on the final base. I was as usual immortal but felt like I was doing no damage since I was still using a meh 9*+10 katana and I got defensive boosts before attack boosts in the skill trees. However I got some rising 2 badges and went ahead and turned one into 2 rising 1 badges so I could get my nox (12*) katana and I did that then ground it to +22. I could honestly keep going and I probably will finish it to 30 next time I play but my melee attack more than doubled. As an added bonus, I no longer have that ugly orange blocky shield looking weapon on my back either. I kind of expect the game to feel easy next time I play it.

Now that I've gotten my important defensive boosts, it's tough for me to know exactly how to prioritize getting my offensive skills. I know what I want to end up with, just not sure which to get first. Well hunter is simple, I basically have just the fury stance stuff left. With braver I have the basic attack potency, the melee attack up, i need to finish weak stance and I haven't even bought basic stance. I'll probably just skip bow skills entirely.

I think I may have slightly neglected my defensive boosts, so I've deviated away from focusing on Fury Stance to get myself Automate Half. I had a rather rough time on my first attempt at a VHAQ, with that mysterious sword dude from one of the early story quests showing up and all but one-shotting me while I couldn't even see him because there was too much else going on and the tiny PC-sized enemy blended right in, then ended up failing the quest because I got careless and the Fang Banshee landed a couple hits. Gunner's rather squishy for a melee-range class. On the bright side, I've got Grim Barrage now, so I can literally fly around 24/7, which just feels awesome. I should probably have focused more on the passive damage bonuses than on all of my Chain Trigger skills, though, since stuff still isn't lasting long enough to really take advantage of it (that or the part I target breaks half a second after I apply it), but I guess there's not much I can do about that now.

Am I correct in thinking that I should hold off on spending Gunner points on stuff like Double Jump and Air Reversal and use my Hunter points to get them instead? Hunter's at like 29 now, so I'm not far off from being able to get them all there, but double jump would be awfully nice to have for such an aerial-centric class.

Slowly grinding away. Got my nox katana up to +30. I like how the potential actually changes how I play slightly. Giving the damaing sidestep +300% potency actually makes it hit pretty hard and then you get a bonus to perfect attacking out of it (or into it? I'm not totally sure). Got a decent 10* arm unit (Hey Remjees) and upgraded it to +7. That seems to be a pretty good stopping point for units I'm going to replace.

I guess I need to do more story but I'm kind of at a loss for what I wanna do. I've already fought just about everything. Like I guess I just don't have a clear goal of what I'm grinding to get strong enough to beat. Would be nice if there was some super hard quest I could attempt and get destoryed at to give me more grinding motivation but right now it feels like I can beat everything I encounter first try even if it's a tense fight. I'm at 53 right now and need 17 entire levels before I can get to extreme hard.

i think the current hardest content in the game is probably ultimate quests but that's... 75? to enter. good news is that you can just chill in there forever infinitely grinding

you should probably find others to do AQ/SHAQ with, I think you're in the level range when they're super efficient

Grouping is a lot rougher with my health. I basically mix playing and afking every 15 minutes or so. Theres been times where I have to stop mid mission and come back an hour or more later. Can't really do that in a party. Multiparties are great in this game though, I can just pop in and out whenever I need to and for the most part no one even notices.

I'm also wondering if there is anything good to farm units from. I have the one 10* unit that is decent but with weak affixes (at least it has stam 3). Would be cool if there was something that routinely drops some good 10 or 11* units. It'll be a decent amount of time before I can afford brissa pieces.

unsure of the exact state of saiki farming now (back when I did it you farmed via triggers, but I think people are farming now via spamming free field or an arks mission?), but I think you might be able to start going after that

saiki was what I used until 12* units. and i didn't start using 12* units until basically last year in jp...

I decided to use my Raghbelt Trigger to try and get myself a Yas 9k (10* TMG), since my 7* TMG is showing its age but the only readily available upgrade is the 10* one from Photon Boosters that I can't equip yet. The two Raghbelts drop three copies of the same 9* Twin Saber and an 8* Knuckles for good measure, but nothing I can actually use. Random loot is random, I guess.

I'm am kind of surprised by the longevity of my H&S 25, though. It's only 7*, but they were dropping like candy through most of Hard and that made it really easy to get them to +30, which has made them substantially more powerful than basically everything in the 8-9* range I've found (even maxing them out doesn't seem to be enough to make them a significant upgrade).

I feel like going for a +30 nox is the easiest way to upgrade. You only need 20 rising weapon badges and you get a couple per UQ as well as an easy 5 if you get the gold mission pass (which can be gotten pretty easily from the SG you get from the story.) If you snag any rising weapon 2 badges, you an turn each one into 2 rising weapon 1 badges so it's even faster. Nox weapons are decent 12* weapons and you can equip them at level 50. I'm thinking you can probably use that until you get a 13*.

On the other hand, I wonder how long it'll take for them to roll out stronger gear. Probably not worth farming too hard right now, just so long as you have gear that can work at the next tier of content.

I'm trying to figure out if I should save my rising weapon 2 badges for that gear or just convert it to rising weapon 1 badges and start getting brissa pieces. I could get at least one piece already I think but I'm still a long way from getting a rising 2 weapon. Also not sure if the rising 2 weapon is any better than the unique badge weapons which I'm steadily proceeding towards.

it requires running certain apps on your PC which require a certain W10 update version to run

the authentication is multilayered and won't be broken (unless they release on steam eventually, which is a possibility)

14* start appearing as drops somewhere in episode 4 (15* were introduced VERY late episode 5)... wondering how they will adjust drop rates considering I farmed for astra katana from the ep4 boss for months without getting one to drop, and that fight's time in the spotlight won't last nearly that long

Yeah, Nox is my next target. I got the Photon Booster one and that's made a huge difference (the Yas 9k would be better, but at this point, my only avenue for that will be to farm the forest Extreme Quest, which is pretty slow), but now that I've unlocked SH I can get in on SH Falz and start gathering the badges. Which UQ's is it that drop them?

I also really need to find some unit upgrades, since I'm feeling awfully squishy. I'm still using 3* stuff I've had since some of my first quests, plus the 7* one they hand out for free (which does seem to be genuinely decent and better than just about anything I've had drop, but I should still probably find some upgrades).

If I were to get the gold mission pass ticket now, would that retroactively get me the gold rewards for tiers I've already completed? I'm guessing not, given that I think it explicitly says no when you accept a tier reward (I dismissed the Gold thing as being a paid one before I understood the difference between AC and SG and never updated my perception) and there seems to be an option to purchase individual tiers for 25 SG each, but I figure it doesn't hurt to check. I do have the SG to buy the ticket, which would get me a couple Rising Weapons Badges (I'm getting close to tier 18, which gives some free ones plus 5 if I go Gold, plus I could buy Tier 2 and get the 5 from the Gold ticket, which would be almost enough for a Nox weapon), but if it's not retroactive, it's a lot closer.

Yes it does. It's totally fine to wait until late in the pass before you get it. If you actually get all 35 tiers (which you can't for this one) you make back 100% of the SG it cost to buy, so it's basically free but that requires doing like 21 of the 30 days worth of daily quests or something like that and of course all the weeklies and tier quests.

You don't need SH for them. I got 3 rising 2 badges from doing mining defense on normal both times I did it. Generally though mining def gives rising 2, luther and elder give rising 1. I'm not even sure you get more badges for higher difficulties.

I'm getting really bored playing this lately. SH has gotten too easy as well. It seems only the initial jump made it kind of challenging. Extreme quests are a joke, every stage lasts like 5 seconds unless theres something I'm missing. I guess I need to save up caps and try some SHAQs but I have low faith those will be much harder. I feel like the issue isn't even really about stats and more movesets. The player character is OP in terms of mobility compared to enemy attacks. On top of that you get long counter frames and you can dash cancel out of almost everything.

The enemies in comparison just don't seem set up to deal with that kind of movement. Almost 100% of the damage I take is because I tried to play as aggressive as possible and miss timed a counter. If I was fine with taking a little longer I could dash around the edge and use thriving bellflower and probably never take any damage which is most of what I do against non boss enemies.

Like for this kind of game you need bosses with long attack strings that retrack between every move in the combo and mix up their timing. This game just doesn't have that, at least not as far as I am. Bosses also don't flow between moves like at all. They have a very clear pattern of do attack, reset, do nothing, start next attack. Something like that might be ok in a game where players move as fast as something like monster hunter, but here it just seems woefully inept at dealing with ARKS.

It worries me because when I ask about hard content people just tell me about how enemies will eventually have so much health and do so much damage, but thats not what is supposed to make an action game hard.

we definitely move FAR faster than we did in the ep 1-3 days, yeah

there was a certain fight in early ep5 that was literally impossible to do damage with for low mobility classes so all run speeds got significant buffs and every class has more movement options

plus the base defense stuff is far more intense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AWTfP25uK8

Damn they go fast as hell in that. I had a bit of fun today playing with some people i met in game but I still have the same concerns which is also annoying because I wouldn't mind putting 10 bucks into the game for 2 inventory expansions and another mag but I kinda feel like I might get too bored to keep playing any day.

Playing with those people I got up to almost level 61. I feel like the easiest thing to do is probably farm nightfall SHAQ for brissa pieces and once I have 2 just buy the 3rd one. Maybe I'll mix it with saiki farming if I'm bored but the ability to use rising badges to buy pieces make farming brissa seem like it'll end up being a lot faster.

As far as I understand, saiki isn't even really much better until they add crafting. If I could get lightning dog or that other 2 piece I'd run those probably. I wonder what circuray set bonus is since each piece a fair bit better than brissa but it'll take a long time to get that many rising 2 badges.

I'm about halfway to getting a 13* from unique badges. Ended up in the rappy bonus area and got 54 unique badges all at once. That was cool. Honestly doesn't seem like it'll take too long to get the 400 needed for a weapon. Not sure which katana is better, probably need to look up the potentials. I should have that before I can finish brissa or saiki unless I get super lucky with drops.

EDIT: seems yami has a usuable potential (14% when tech perfect attacking) compared to the useless yasha which is a bigger boost but only when under 25% hp. That seems entirely unuseable with automate half and regen ring.

I keep getting these weapon badges and other things that say I can trade them in for weapons/items etc, but I don't know where to trade them in. I'm still using basic ? items I identify from fighting (Like 7 star I think) even at around level 40. I'm still killing pretty fast, but from the posts here it makes me think i'm missing out on something.

I did kill the dark falz guy twice though, the tips for mashing buttons and then destroying the swords helped a ton, thank you!!

2 of my chars are 25 and 1 is like 38, but I still have the initial armor on them (never saw something drop more then 3 star for the armor), and the weapons are pretty basic as well. My force at least has different rod types for cold and light so I can switch between the attacks I use.

I'm also mostly just running expiditions for exp at this point and tossing in a few client orders when they reset as well. Don't see a better way to get exp besides that. I still have not used any of the +50% exp etc items as I was saving em for later when things slow down, but I may start doing that on my 38 char at this point.

I do them on a higher level then recommended though. There seems to be a limit (won't let me do something over 10 levels higher or so) but I still don't have a prob killing stuff on higher levels. My force especially basically one shots everything with charges techs, and then kills the boss pretty fast.

I probably should look up some videos on how to get higher star weapons etc, but have been avoiding that so far.

the easiest 12* weapon to get is actually the one from badges, the Nox weapon. has relatively low stat requirements and is kind of cheap so you definitely want it in the 40-50 range. i just bought mine off the market for 100k (and then bought another and combined them so i had 50 element, but that's another story). I can now oneshot most things in VHAQ, which is my next grind spot

VHAQ at 40, but yeah, basically I just did a bunch of the main Arks Missions and caught about three sessions of urgent questing and here I am at 47

absolutely DO NOT save the +50% boosters because it is pathetically easy to get better ones later on. you can get exp +75% via photon drops (and you can also outright buy them), rare drop +250% via excubes (thus via 10* drops and doing any SH content)

triboosts are technically limited on a weekly basis but 50% is so small you shouldn't worry about conserving them, get stronger asap so you can start partaking of +75% exp and +250% rare drop sooner

also meseta boosters are bleh most places so just use those wherever. the only time in jp i use them is when i'm doing extreme quests because that is one place where a TON of meseta drops

Thanks Ages that is a ton of useful info. I also saved all my 15k exp tickets like an idiot, figuring i'd use em later for my sub classes, except my sub classes are leveling up very fast so I have not used any (I think I hae like 4 on each character so like 12 now).

Gonna check out that store in the shop area, I did go to the second story for the boutique to get my auxilary things, but didn't look around after that (was dumb). So much stuff is hidden or just easy to not notice.

I still one shot almost everything (I always use 50% element weapons, even though they are not high stars). That mainly helps with my force though since he has that one that boosts damage even more (I do the same element as the spell i'm asting so have a different rod for ice and light basically.

I have still not decided 100% to main ice over fire/lightning so have not invested in those skills yet. I think light works on everything and is easy to target weak spots with, so am boosting that with my sub. I kinda like ice's ability to freeze though as it works great in combo with light as well, but it's not great at targeting weak spots (but it does have a good AoE ability which an be really useful.

Probably going to main my force over the other 2, even though it's my newest/baby char, because the damage already seems great in comparison, and I heard you can like customize spells later or something to make it even better. I really like it's dodge as well, and I never use mates cause I have resta.

Both of the other chars work fine, but the melee guy is..well melee, so you gotta get up in the face of the enemies, which is slower (or seems slower to me), and the ranger guy seems to both A: do less damage for now even with blight bullets, and B...just seems more dull? I really like the BIG numbers from spells hehe.

light is the best bossing, and once we get tech customization it's REALLY good at close-range mobbing. ilgrants is actually absurd and if you have spare money and see one for relatively cheap I highly recommend getting it

ice is mostly meh outside of ilbarta which is also absurd bossing but fairly unforgiving. how it works is that every time you hit an enemy with it, it leaves a blue sigil on the enemy for like 5 seconds. if you continue to hit the enemy with ilbarta and not let the sigil wear off, the 4th -> 6th hits get meatier and the 7th hit is GIGANTIC. thing is, it's a gigantic PP sink, so you have to be actively regenerating TP to get 7 off in a row or have a pool of like 160PP (and have customized ilbarta, I think). fo/te is the only combo that doesn't really have huge pp issues innately but it still requires you to sit still to recover PP fast, so it's easy for the boss to target you and mess up everything. but still... when I get that 7th hit off on my level 50~ character, it's 100k. feels so good........

fo/te can take everything in all six elemental trees eventually, but light and lightning are probably the two best to start with. like 80% of the game is weak to light (and grants is fine if you dont wanna dump 200k on ilgrants), and lightning is solid overall with very nice mobbing via gizonde
