Man, I'd trade all my wins from the past few days for Desert! Looking back, I'd say it was my favourite discovery of noms, though I apparently heard it about a month before that - Discord search says my single comment was "WOW WHAT A GOOD SONG" and then I promptly forgot about it oops...would be willing to take a Kaine Salvation win as a spiritual successor

Freedom Planet lost because we're all stuck under lock and key.
Drift Stage lost because "Zadok" isn't nearly as optimistic as "To the Distant Sky."
GITADORA OverDrive lost because it failed the test.

Note: there was a late vote that would have tied the second match. However, I couldn't count it. Sorry.

Well that sucks then because I noticed that I was running late so I didn't post because I thought that I was already past the deadline by then. The rule in the topic said "Each set of matches lasts 24 hours, even if the new one isnt up by then."

I have 23-23 for the TOC match, counting cako's vote for Douwa Kairou.

At the same time though, this is what I remember from the past (and imo the rule that makes sense):

but the rules currently say

- Each set of matches lasts 24 hours, even if the new one isnt up by then.

so I don't know if cako's vote counts or not.

Due to a lack of clarity on situations that have not appeared previously, two of yesterday's matches will need to be re-run. While Confronting Myself clearly won its match, the other two are contested and need to be resettled.

For future reference, all matches begin at 10:00 or when the topic is posted, whichever occurs later.

There was also some discussion in Discord after the match as to whether Zadok is even eligible for the contest. It's a unique situation and I probably would have nixed it pre-contest, but it's here now and I'm not going to toss it. Sorry, Nilin.

I knew something was up when we went 18 days without a tie or any other issue! I'm kind of in awe that our first instance of rules being miscommunicated just had to come about on a day where it affected a match result, with said match also having a song found to be ineligible on the same day. Add to that some miscounting on a different match which was in fact an authentic tie (I think) and you've got a VGMC classic. Oh, and there was also a late vote from none other than the nominator of the ineligible song which would have affected the results of both matches.

Well at least it means more of my songs are losing than (almost) everyone else. I'm really only at 49% win rate though, which is apparently low enough for 52nd place.
