It's the second one imo. And that's kind of what I mean! Criticism within the progressive movement is fine and that's why it's possible to have minor disagreements with AOC without her being a neolib sellout, which is what some people seem to actually believe.

Yes, those are the Bernie supporters who'll vote for Trump. They're a small segment, though. They'd rather burn down the establishment than fix anything. Those people aren't in it for the long haul. They don't care much about getting things done, as they do about virtue signaling.

My point is that society has never really valued human life over freedom until this month. The shelter in place net negative deaths only show you how we risk death literally every time we step outside. Society isn't designed to optimize risk reduction like that, otherwise we'd never let anyone leave the house or drive a car.
