A conspiracy nut thought Gideon was part of a conspiracy that caused the crash and was a "crisis actor" who was essentially playing the role of an innocent victim to engender public sympathy/distract from "the truth."

I'm sure it's been beyond obvious by now but Mr. Robot engages in a lot of topical social commentary about the present day - hell just watching it a couple of years after airdate probably makes it seem even more heavy-handed than I think it was meant to be because it was scarily accurate at times in ways I don't think it necessarily meant to be. The late Season 1 episode (the finale, IIRC?) where Krista's jerk ex complains to her that the Ashley Madison leaks exposed him to his wife? The Ashley Madison hack that exposed user data literally happened in the week before airdate as I recall. I think they dubbed in the specific reference by having him namedrop it while his character was off-camera/focus on Krista but I mean the general plotline had to have been written out way before. and the scene shot, etc. A big recurring theme of Season 2 and beyond is a deconstruction of the "revolutionnnnnnnnn" concept that Elliot pulls off in Season 1 with the 5/9 hack and is sometimes romanticized in culture by showing some of the ugly consequences that could and would arise if the system really was torn down in an instant like that.

I don't think so, I think it's more: Some lone wolf individual/small vigilante group just upturning the system with no real plan beyond "fuck yeah fight the power" and thinking it'll lead to some enlightened public uprising and liberation is... not realistic. E Corp is like very clearly bad and I don't think the show is all that friendly to the excesses of capitalism either! I think it's just showing that the fantasy of just overturning and solving it all in a single act is just that - a fantasy. It wouldn't all just magically work out. You'd need a much larger plan to deal with the aftermath.

I also think the core message of the show isn't actually about that and it's truly much more of an introspection into the characters, especially Elliot. And I also think a lot of this fits together a lot better by the end when you have all the information. Esmail had originally envisioned Mr. Robot as a movie before turning it into a TV show but he had the thing planned out start-to-finish so it is extremely cohesive and you'll be seeing things at the end of Season 4 that provide further context and information to events all the way back at the start of Season 1. I think it does a phenomenal job at addressing all questions by the end that may seem outstanding at the time as you watch it.

Dragon Ball Episode 60 complete! I'm watching extra episodes to make up for not getting to watch last weekend so I can stay on my pace!

The tower in this episode reminded me a lot of the Tower of Salvation from Tales of Symphonia.

According to Funimation's listing, this is the end of season 2, meaning I'm now 40% of the way done! Odd place to leave things off though if this was really where the season originally ended!

Played some more of the KnK Event and made it to Floor 3 but argh the AP costs are killing me here. I got to kinda cheese the Valentine's Day one because being new I kept getting Master Level Ups to refill it and for the first week it was nearly self-sustaining, it was only in the second week where I had to slow down and wait for it to regen over real time a lot more.

but now this event gives like no exp and costs a lot of ap for it. =(

But on the positive side omg Shiki and Fujino's Noble Phantasms are too hype. I literally go out of my way and play inefficiently to use them sometimes just for their amazing themes to override the battle theme (although the Event Music is top tier since it's right from KnK's OST but still so are their themes!). and lmfao how is fujino's single target with that animation that is incredible.

Whew, finally completed World 5 in Ring Fit Adventure. I'm pretty sure I'm overleveled at this point because the boss fight was super easy, but whatever!

It's pretty easy to complete the KnK event with just naturally refilling AP if you feel like waiting. But if you want to have fun with apples, go for it! Either way works.

I assume you noticed, but the Craft Essences you get from the shop increase the number of enemies that spawn. That'll help you complete more missions with less AP (and it also makes the battles longer, haha). Friend Supports should have them equipped too. You can actually set your support list to only show Servants with event CEs up, which can be handy.

Dragon Ball didn't really have seasons. It just aired continuously, week after week. The seasons were just how Funi organized it for disc releases.

As I have lamented on occasion, Witcher 3 betrayed me and started incessantly crashing on PS4 for me at one point to an extent where I just couldn't continue and had to give up. I was really enjoying it beforehand though, to the point where I keep giving that Switch port a long look so I can give it another try, so you may want to take a look into it. I feel like that price is a crazy deal at any rate.

I don't think so. I didn't and while I as 100% missing things I think you can get a grasp on what's going on pretty quickly.

Hmm. Hard to say. I think you'd be onboard for the story/characters. It's the gameplay/open-world I'm more hesitant on. The combat wasn't great IMO but I also definitely didn't have a great grasp on the mechanics. You have these spell things and I just didn't use them and sworded things while rolling around like a zelda game.

It also has a big open world that I'd say is more in the vein of Skyrim than BotW but I don't think you played Skyrim so I don't know if I have a good other reference point for you. You have a map and can set markers so what I would do is set one at a place marked as a place of interest, head there, then put a marker down at the next one and continue on. Like a less organic and fun Sheikah Slate thing but it provided me with some direction (I have tried to play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion twice and both times I dropped it after the prologue because I was just too overwhelmed) What I described here is what I did for Skyrim and it worked out there for me.

I played a bit of Witcher 3. I liked the story and characters, but I found the act of playing the game (like, moving around and interacting and such) to be pretty miserable. I kinda wanna try playing it modded on PC at some point.

I've finished volume 3 of the Darth Vader comic series, which deals with the Shu-Torun War. It's kind of cool to see Vader in action more than you do in the movies because he has a dry wit and a tendency to lay the smackdown on everyone he meets.

The NFL is looking to expand the playoffs to 7 teams per conference. Sounds kinda dumb. I mean it's a much more harmless dumb than expanding to 17 games but yuck.

I mean, I'll take it over what baseball is trying to do, which is truly terrible. It does seem unnecessary though.

what baseball is doing is almost comical. i almost want to see the trainwreck. NFL just looks like it wants more money. I think it overpowers the 1 seed by making the gap between it in 2 way bigger and also while you do have the cases of 10-6 and 11-5 teams missing the playoffs I rarely find myself thinking "dang if only there was one more slot"

But I mean "whatever" it's probably one of the least disruptive of the various change ideas they've floated in recent years.

Yeah, it's very rare that you have more than 6 really playoff-worthy teams in a conference. We didn't miss anything by not having Duck Hodges in the playoffs this past season, for instance.

But yeah, they just want more money and so they'll keep trying to add more games. I don't know where they're going to fit a fifth playoff game though if they want them all to have their own timeslot. I guess it'll go 1/4/7 like Sunday games do.
