Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 8 complete!

Elliot just went Matt Engarde with the whole, "I'm gonna hack myself, okay?" I didn't see that coming, but honestly, it all kinda makes sense.

also my fiancee just finished episode 6 and she's devastated because Shayla was her favorite character

Mr. Robot S1E8: Yeah, it really does. As much as a surprise as it was to me when it happened when you look back it explains how Darlene has acted towards Elliot the whole time. Before it seems like she acts way too close to him for no explainable reason... and then it turns out actually there's a very good reason!

Mr. Robot S2 complete! Honestly, I don't really feel like they turned the quality around in the second half. There were great parts here and there, but there were also bad episodes, like 12 and especially 11. The whole season felt like it wanted to be dark and use fancy techniques to try to be deep or whatever and it just didn't work for me.

The conflict between Elliot and Mr. Robot in the last few episodes just felt pointless. They seem to reconcile, and then they're still fighting. We know Elliot wants to take down evil corp, but he tries so hard not to for whatever reason. Why did Mr. Robot keep Tyrell's location secret and say he was dead? Because the writers wanted to manufacture a conflict, of course!

Also, not sure what the writers have against Obama, but all the stuff about him was kinda dumb. Philip was great early on, but everything seems a bit too easy for him after that. The huge shocks due to the hack were dumb in general. Felt way overexaggerated.

I'd still say the FBI stuff was mostly good, and the China stuff was solid too. Glad most people seem to say S3 turns it around, at least.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this, since B8 loves the Undertale OST. I think it's a solid OST, if not a bit overrated. This was my favorite song in the context of the game though.

Undertale probably my favorite song from the game also.

After that I think some combination of Bonetrousle/Death by Glamour/Hopes and Dreams. I also love Your Best Nightmare way more than it probably deserves.

Undertale the song is indeed a good song. I don't think it's my favorite from the OST I've heard but probably Top 5? Def Top 7. Though based on my knowledge-of-the-game-gained-through-osmosis I think like 4/6 of those other tracks aren't even on the routes you played. >_>

He said he did pacifist, so I think the only big songs missing would be Battle Against a True Hero and Megalovania

Specifically in context, I think I'd say Your Best Nightmare is the best song in the game. Up there with Undertale at least.

I don't like listening to it on its own though.

Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 9 complete! My fiancee caught up to me, so she wanted us to watch it "together" from long distance.

So, this was the episode where everything went poorly for everyone except for the big evil corporation. I was right not to trust everything I saw from Elliot, but I didn't foresee all of this! I'm getting major Umineko vibes with this stuff.

Mr. Robot S1E9: The "Where Is My Mind" piano cover near the end is such a great shoutout to Fight Club.

"But still, I have to know. Why did you do it? What did you hope to accomplish by doing all this?"
"I don't know. I wanted to save the world."

The Episode 9 twist was one I was pretty sure of by that time, it was the Episode 8 one that blindsided me. I like that the show doesn't even really bother with the conceit by that point either with Elliot basically resigned when he's speaking to "us" about him being Mr. Robot.

Also I totally forgot to comment on Episode 8's scene with Whiterose. That was such a compelling scene/dialogue. Definitely one of the most memorable ones IMO.Whiterose's delivery, tone, and lines are all done perfectly.

Well, it's 5 seasons of 31 episodes apiece, from the looks of it.

also there are movies too it looks like but I don't know if they're worth watching

DB needs Kai a lot less than DBZ did

No stupidly long battles except with Piccolo, and that's still mercifully short compared to Z's!

I mean, it adapts 16 volumes into 151 episodes. That's pretty absurd! For normal pacing, you'd typically want maybe four episodes per volume at most. Kai is five episodes per volume, for comparison.

Sorry! I got myself stuck last night trying to think what has been revealed to you at that point because there were some things you mentioned I definitely wanted to comment on that I couldn't quite remember if they came up in the last episode of S2 or don't arise until S3.

I'm sad you didn't think Season 2 bounced back a bit in the back half, I thought moments like Cisco's death had the tension through the roof as it built up to that. Felt like the adrenaline in me was surging as it approached especially with music choice. Generally I felt the FBI plot and how it crossed with the main cast at various times did a sufficient job at picking up some of the slack.

Season 3 is definitely a return to form though IMO.

Yeah, there were definitely still moments in Mr. Robot S2! The episode where they're in the 90s TV show parody was the best. Cisco's death was good, and so was the FBI plot in general. Zhang/White Rose is good too. I just wish the main plot had been there too.

Yeah, all the "i wish i had done more" takes are like "lmao get out of here." A few of the individual players, when the press found them later in the day, sounded better but that press conference was sooooo bad.

"Our position is it didn't impact the game." lmffffffffffffao. that owner just made the whole situation even worse with everything he was saying.

Also, Fire Emblem Three Houses: Silver Snow beated.

Another fun final map with a great final theme (though still taking Apex of the World and CF Chapters 12 and Final have it beat.) lol everyone with Brave Weapons and Miracle made for a trickier map at times than expected. Somehow I feel like Edelgard is still the star of this route lol her position as my favorite character in the game continues to grow but going forward I will be leaving the Black Eagles so we'll see if a new challenger can arrive. Next up will be Azure Moon but... that'll probably be a few months away. Think next up for me (besides my continuing Fate/Grand Order on the side as GACHA ZERO HOUR looms just over the horizon) will be the Baldur's Gate 1/2 collection. Then probably Dark Souls 3 but we'll see things are always in flux.

The MVP Scroll at the end was hilarious because once Shamir joined she was MVP like 70% of the time lol. Catherine was an incredible new addition along with Seteth. They could just steamroll entire maps if I let them. Also I had Lysithea rolling around as a Gremory who received the Move+1 item and had 5-range Dark AND Faith magic from Thyrsus + Reason/Faith S-Rank skills. It was kind of ridiculous. She had too many silly skills that I couldn't really make a spot for the Tomefaire skills lmfao.

Unlike Crimson Flower where I just winged it, I had my Silver Snow Final Team of 10 planned out from pretty much the jump. It was: Byleth, Seteth, Flayn, Shamir, Catherine, Lysithea, Felix, Leonie, Ingrid, and Annette. Since Silver Snow is apparently the closest we get to a Church Route I wanted to give them a more prominent role here. Though I still had 4 returners from my CF group with Lysithea, Shamir, Felix, and Ingrid. I just like them.

There's a post-credits scene at the end of the episode (which is true for the season finales of 2 and 3 as well) so if you stopped at the credits you probably want to check that out.
