Doctor Aphra is pretty cool. Also, it's neat to get some glimpses into Vader's mind that you don't really get in the movies.

Quick reaction consequential matches which I'm pretty unsure about:

Div 4: I could see any of GTAV, RDR, Xenoblade, or Three Houses winning here. Not sure what to think.

Mario Kart 8: Am I wrong in having a notion that Mario Kart is typically underestimated? If so I think it could win a few matches.

HG/SS: Depending on how much people penalize HG/SS for being a remake (even though most people think it's an amazing remake that's possibly the best game in the series?) I could see it being stopped as early as the match with Nier Automata or going as far as the finals.

Mario Kart hasn't usually done well in contests, but it honestly gets some crappy draws at times. It got a good draw this time, so I think it can win a match or two.

F/GO: Fifth Singularity cleared. That was a long one. Pretty good though I think it may have gone on like one node too long story-wise. Onto the Sixth which apparently is where shit gets real both in battle and the story. I'll find about battles soon I guess but the story definitely just got real... and a lot darker!

Also I'm doing much better on my amassing of rolls for the desperation push in a few days. Already at ~25 and I think I can get like 15 more just in Summon Tickets the day of. That would still only be a 25% chance but that's back in business as far as I'm concerned. And if I can make good progress in this new Singularity or even manage to clear it in time that'll be another decent haul.

I think Sekiro comes out of that bottom half of Division 1 before getting blown up by BOTW. I almost feel like it's a slight waste of Sekiro but eh.

oh my god trails sc. oh fuck it i'm taking it to win that match let's go. (this could possibly cost me two rounds but my snap thought is Walking Dead beats the winner either way but maybe I should have more respect for DQ on this site)

Oh boy Division 2 looks like a lot of fun. Took all top seeds in R1 but then it gets crazy. I have RE2 taking the division but I may have to look into ME2's past history but I feel recency + Bioware fading of late hurts it. I want to take Bloodborne but I just can't do it off my hot takes would need to see a good argument for it.

Hrm. that Overwatch/Death Stranding match gives me all sorts of questions. Overwatch strikes me as very not-GameFAQs game while Kojima probably has some cred here.

P4Golden v RDR feels like it could be a very consequential match. RDR wins that under non-life-support votals but with them? I think P4G is live and I think the favorite over GTAV? Xenoblade v Three Houses might be the rare interesting SFF match just because I'm not sure we know how the HIERARCHY will play out there. Going with my heart way too much in this division and somehow have Three Houses > P4G. May definitely have to revisit this for a saner pick.

wow allen with no respect for x-stat heavyweight mass effect 3 here i see. Fallout:NV v Dark Souls 3 might be interesting but that one damn FO3 match like 10 years ago + New Vegas being liked within the Fallout Community has me leaning there.

oh boy Division 6 is another Chaos Division. lmao that Sonic v Ys match tempts me but I think Sonic gets past that... twice even! That KH3/SFV/RDR2 pile-up feels pretty consequential. Think conventional wisdom is take RDR2 and don't look back but I'm shoving all in on KH3 to win the division and will go bust unless I rethink this lol.

oh wow division 7 not letting up either. Dark Souls v MGSV could be interesting. Went Dark souls but feel bad about it. Arkham v Xenoblade 2 feels like a "winner wins round 2 too" match. ride or die with nintendo though but i'd feel a lot better with OG Xenoblade. Got TLOU winning the division but really want to take Dark Souls because if I'm taking it over MGSV why not go all the way?

oh my god is division 8 the one where allen just threw his hands up and dumped all the troublesome games? got pokemon over skyrim but man you got F/GO and Hearthstone here.

Ended up with a final of BOTW > HGSS in the most GameFAQs final. Paused for a second on letting Witcher 3 beat HGSS just for standing out there in the semis but no mercy.

I'm not really sure if Xenoblade got stronger. Since the Switch version isn't out, there still isn't really a good way to play the original Xenoblade. Not that this counts as a good way but Xenoblade vs DKC2 was even after the New 3DS version came out. In terms of just overall praise for the game, it was already highly praised back in 2015. I'm not sure how much more strength Xenoblade can squeeze out of that without people actually being able to play the game.

I think Xenoblade can benefit from the premise of the contest since it does have the reputation for being a great game, which I think voters will take into consideration when we factor in that a lot of voters won't have played these games.

It's possible but I'm not really a big believer in that effect. But Xenoblade is no Mario for name brand and Fire Emblem isn't a complete unknown. I don't think it will make too much of a difference.

Rumors have a release date being announced soon for a release in the Spring, though none of that's for sure.

Yeah, E Pluribus Unum is all great until the end, where it loses momentum. Alas.

Camelot will be a bit tough! You'll have a few strong Saber bosses to take care of, along with a strong Lancer and Archer.

Forget the bosses even these regular battles have a huge difficulty spike compared to everything previously. =(

sure got my attention when i wiped on the first battle of the singularity with the lineup i crushed the Fifth Singularity with lol. Have had to do a lot more moving the lineup/order around and stuff here so far.

Camelot's often considered the hardest singularity, so if you can beat that, you should be able to beat the future ones. You'll be getting a Saber welfare servant in March, too, so that might help a bit, though maybe not. This year's pretty good in terms of welfare servants, so you'll get quite a few.

For free servants, Euryale and Hans are both pretty good to level. Hans is great at support, and Euryale is awesome against male servants (who make up most of camelot)

Up to ep 7 of Mr. Robot S3. Some pretty exciting stuff happening! I'm kind of on team Whiterose, so her succeeding while Elliot fails is pretty fun.
