Oh yeah, I forgot about Prabyslivitz. Sounds interesting.

Unfortunately, the inverter in my TV just died, so that looks like it'll be the end of my PS4 adventures for now. =|

Okay, I got ahold of a smaller Samsung to play on. Not that great for a gamer, but any port in a storm, I guess. Moving all this stuff around might urge me to get the N64 out and put the PS3 away.

Been doing a few quests lately. Hung out with Capon in his tub with some wenches, then started helping out the widow at the horse ranch. Apparently Divish stopped buying horses from her, and he gave a pretty stupid reason for it.

I also got decent enough at stealth that I can creep up on dudes and HAHA! STABBING! them as they move. Also found some bandits near Prabyslavitz in pre-ambush mode, and sent their souls to Sithis as well. It's good to know my loot runs can be extended a bit. I think enemies wearing mail coifs can avoid this, but I'm not sure (sometimes people break out of my holds).

Here's my pupper getting his daily exercise by hamstringing some fleeing bandit.

Here's the tub quest. Theresa gave me flak for it right after, even though it had only been a few hours...and she was sleeping...which is odd. My tinfoil hat theory is that she crept into camp and put her ear to the door for several hours. (I can also give her the quests Capon collected for Klara, which should be funny...but I don't want any blowback later. Not sure if I'll keep 'em.)

Finally, the harlot of Talmberg seducing sweet, innocent Henry away from Theresa. Sadly, I can't pickpocket her, so opening her "very hard" trunk for one of the millers will be rather annoying. Gonna need to practice a bit to finish some of these quests. Even the one for the executioner ("they took my jerb!") requires picking a difficult door.

Bonus pic: I picked a lock in some old castle foundation and found some sweet stuff. My RPGer senses immediately think this is part of some treasure map quest, but I'm too lazy to track those down. I did find one in the attic of an old mill, though, which was a welcome surprise. The helmet/shoes I found were all in tiptop condition, too, and had one of those colored rings I associate with Japanese New Year's.

Nice, won that stupid horse race. The other riders know jack about the geography, so you can pull ahead at the end by taking this easy cut-across up a switchback.

It's basically just giving money to have something built with nothing worthwhile for plot or gameplay whatsoever

Also be warned up front that some buildings are exclusive IE you can only build one or the other

Another warning it actually drains money at first so don't start it unless you have enough to build a few and make a profit

Hmm, now that I look, it seems I can't do any Prabyslavitz crap yet. I thought it was the "Ruin" quest, but that might be Bernard's random "kill bandits" stuff. Gonna have to wait until I advance the plot a bit. Up to that quest where you find Timmy at a windmill, haha.

Latest quest I did was that water-carrier mission for the beggars. Started it a couple days ago, but just got around to it now. Theresa asked me to put in a good word for Antonia, so she got a job carrying the poo buckets. Beggars can't be choosers, haha. To be fair, if Theresa asked, I would stab Radzig in the face with a rusty lockpick, so Antonia caught a break by being her friend.

Oh, and I was up at the Inn of the Glade, and an old whore asked me to get back 20 groschen from some john who stiffed her. So I waited until he left, failed a pickpocket, chased him about five kilometers away and killed him in a field. That'll teach him to withhold funds equal to a couple salamis!

I'm not sure if killing witnesses corrects any reputation penalties, but I did it anyway.

Anyway, went back to Skalitz for a quest to dig up someone's hidden dovecote treasure. Didn't have a spade, so I had to ride to Talmberg, then come all the way back. If I'd known there was a huge battlefield here to pick over for spoils, I would've visited a lot sooner. Too bad the victors tend to be heavily armored bandits, making it difficult to kill one, let alone three or four.

Anyway, dug up Beran's cup and a couple dollars, so I guess I'll go give it back to him in Rattay. No sense being too greedy. It's good to know that digging up graves and secret treasure increases Stealth, too...would've had my spade readied sooner if I'd known.

EDIT: I've also been feeding Mutt fried dog meat and lard, so I think he's going to be the most powerful dog in Poland soon.

Yeah, that's what I'm planning on doing. For a long time I didn't have a horse, so I didn't feel like carrying it around. From what I've read, the horse you initially ride to Talmberg doesn't despawn and you can use that early on for gettin' around, even though you don't own it.

EDIT: Also, sometimes I find pilgrims trying to sell me stuff. One dude sold me a cheap skillbooks, treasure maps and some dice. Do these dice actually get used for gambling or is it just some tchotchke?

The game calls it farkle at some point, but I never bothered playing it outside of one mandatory attempt (and I quit prematurely lol). I'm going to keep some of the dice I find now, though, 'cause I want that achievement for winning $1000 gold or whatever. But yeah, when I can find a bunch of battlesites and pick them over like a vulture, worrying about trash rewards from a peasant seems entirely pointless.

Been doing some main quest crap today. While looking for Timmy, some thugs came by and tried to muscle info out of me. I lied, sent 'em on a wild goose chase, then murdered the guy left behind to guard me. Threw his body in a coulee, just to have a laugh. Later found the simpleton and agreed to keep his secret, since it's clear anyone could talk him into anything.

Radzig sent me back to Prabyslavitz to do recon and sabotage, so I'm currently out in the woods in the middle of the night, about to pounce. My dude is actually rather stealthy with some of his perks, and in the rain, he's like a TF2 spy. Not sure what sabotage will entail, since I didn't bring any poison or rotten meat, but...we'll see how it goes.

Alright, I finished the sabotage. I was doing pure stealth at first, but save scumming kept fouling up, so eventually I just fought a bunch of Cumans, then ran around poisoning and burning stuff. If it was too much for one trip, I'd run along the earthworks walls, hop it, then run around the perimeter to do it again. Radzig wants me to mobilize basically everyone in the region, so hopefully this won't be overkill, lol.

Killed Runt in a duel. Shame that all those bodies filled with delicious loot are going to have despawned (probably) by the time I return. Still, now I can do those moneysink DLC missions to rebuild this place.

Also, the big bad seems like the hat-wearing dude I met a long time ago. I forget where he's from...maybe he visited my dad's forge? Or met with Radzig early on? I think that's the guy. He had a German name, I think.

It's also worth noting that I've had such difficulty with lockpicking, but one single piece of advice made it so much easier. And that advice? Hold the right analog stick between your thumb and pointer, like you would the knob of a safe. Haven't failed a single attempt since I learned that. Of course, the simplified lockpicking is ten times more easy once you know that, since you don't have to worry about moving the rotor thing with the other hand.

EDIT: And on a random note, I found a chest in Prabyslavitz that has 1,900 better long-distance arrows (120 power) inside. Now that's a score.

Whew, it cost about 20,000G just to build 3-4 buildings. I left my other 11K in the box, so I didn't have anything to buy the stone/grain/etc. with, haha. Looks like I'll need to be less selective when looting corpses from now on, 'cause it's gonna take a ridiculous amount of scratch to fund everything...not that I mind. It's nice to do missions that have some minor upside for the world, not just stabbing Cumans in their esophagi.

Hmm, made about 7.5K hauling absolutely everything bandits dropped all the way to Sasau. Should try to farm these hoodlums closer to home, though, so I don't have to fast travel all the way back to Praby. Checking in on Skalitz on my return trip is a good idea. (Note to self: can I sell this crap to Praby merchants to increase their funds?)

Welp, cured Merhojed of its plague. Finally I can say "somebody poisoned the water hole!" and mean it. This was also the very first time I ever successfully brewed an alchemy potion, so that was nice. Mostly I just bought classes and books for it. Pretty fun, actually -- the only reason I don't do it more is because I need an alchemy table, and you can't take those with you on the trail (unfortunately).

Unless I'm missing something, this half-rebuild Prabyslavitz doesn't have a stash container anywhere. Gonna have to visit battlesites, walk all the way to Talmberg, save, then make the route from now on. Hopefully I'm just missing something, 'cause I'm getting sick of going all the way to Sasau and back for loot runs. (Granted, the armorer there has about 40K gold since I've been using him forever, haha. That part's great.)

Upgrading the rathaus finally spawned a storage chest, so now I can just loot Skalitz over and over for quick looting. Of course, now that I build the most important building in town -- the tavern -- I'm generating money hand over grubby fist. Seriously, it makes 1200G/day and single-handedly offsets all expenses.

Pic dump time! Here's Prabyslavitz after we threw out all the bandit/Cuman trash:

Here's the town after I build all the buildings and partially renovated the cathedral:

Here's the burnt-out city of Skalitz, complete with its own walking, talking bandit action figures. These fights spawn each time you approach, making it pretty good for reliability. Plenty of beds to sleep/save in nearby, too, including one right across from the tavern. You can spawn the battle, sleep for an hour, then loot all the bodies.

Here's some random dead body I found in the forest. It couldn't be looted and seemed fresh, so I thought it was some bandit lure...but nothing happened. I wonder if it's part of some quest that hasn't started yet?

Here's me in my Cuman costume, replete with all the stupid animal parts that make no sense. Matthew and Fritz are having a good laugh while Jack Black puts on his poker face. Can't count the number of times I've almost sold this cumanwear -- it's pretty easy to do it accidentally when you loot other Cumans of all their crap.

If you know where to fight battles, you can definitely make bank on loot runs. I think I made 7-8k on one long one, and if I chained 'em together, I could do even more. It's too bad you can't build Prabyslavitz until halfway through the story, though -- it would've been nice to get it started early. If you want some tips for building, you should:

  • know where free sleep/save camps are in advance, 'cause you might be slow
  • build an armorsmith in camp instead of a swordsmith, since most loot you take is armor (swordsmith won't buy)
  • you can probably get more if you haggle (I don't bother, but there's an achievement for it, so maybe I should)
  • Get a fast horse, take the perk that lets them carry more, then get the noble saddle from Zora (win Talmberg horse race). It can carry 500+ pounds of loot then, haha. I don't even think the weight of you, the rider, impacts it, so there's a lot of freight being moved around.
Shenmue 2 is great, though, so don't wait any longer.

I rebuked 'em 'cause they're helping with Prabyslavitz, but then Matthew got mad and won't do the quest. They also won't go to Prabyslavitz until I finish their quest. Good thing I have a previous save to avoid screwing all this up, haha.

Nah you never get a reticle. That and the wonky way they had the bow pull up is one of the reasons archery sucks so hard

The way the bow is pulled up and the general line the arrow follows never goes with with levels in archery. They tried to make it realistic but just made it bad instead

And it's better than it was at launch but still full of bugs. PC might have a player made fix but consoles are still pretty prevalent

Dang, I was hoping a reticle was in my future. I heard you can still gauge shots with Henry's left knuckles (which is what I've been using), but it's just not the same.

Also, I was cutting across south of Ledechko and accidentally started the Band of Bastards DLC. Not sure what's in store for me, but now that Prabyslavitz is out of the red, maybe I'll dick around with it. The cast of characters seems pretty good.
