Lol, I don't even travel at night, just find a place to bed down.

Btw, I picked the game up because of this topic of yours. Most I've been sucked in to a game since monster hunter world came out. I had been looking at it a bit but the trailer vid on psn didn't exactly thrill me.

Just wanted to say thanks.

Glad y'like it. It's definitely got some rough edges, but it's still pretty enjoyable. I know I've certainly been surprised how much I've liked it, considering it was a blind buy.

Traveling at night is a lot easier when you (1) have a horse to rush through all enemy encounters (2) avoid main roads, since that's where most ambushes take place. I dunno if you have a horse yet, but you'll eventually get one as a main quest reward, I think when you're sent to investigate Neuhof's raid. Not sure what happens if you buy a five-star horse before that, though...should test that on the next playthrough.

Yeah, Kingdom Come is an incredible game. It was my personal GOTY back in 2018. I've already done two full playthroughs (one at launch and one last year), and I'll probably end up doing another one later this year.

I hope the next game is even better.

Yeah, I wish they would've let Kuno's band of bastards hang around on that hilltop and do more patrols. I dunno if you ever went back there, but they clear out lickety split, the same way deadbeats skidaddle when they owe people money. In fact, they left so quickly, I'm not even sure which of those bastards died. The Stone?

Now that I think about it, the same person may have died in my playthrough. Oh well.

Anyway, just got psyched to do the night raid mission and even went to my costume trunk to fetch black, low-visibility, noiseless wear. Kitted Henry out completely and was a friggin' Batman with stabby knives during the mission. It seems it's scripted to fail, though, which took a lot of the fun out of it. It's one of the few stealth jobs with lots of preparation time afforded, so I was hoping for more. Bringing Hans along was stupid as hell, too, all things considered. At least he'll be sidelined for the foreseeable future, haha.

Now it's time for a trebuchet or something. Things ain't looking good for the hostages, but I'm sure Henry will come out on top.

Dammit, my game crashed while I was doing pre-Siege of Talmberg prepwork, so now I have to go find a bunch of herbs again and stuff. This time, I'm going to talk to everyone, save, then do it again, 'cause there's a fair amount of running around. It's tough being the only competent person in the whole kingdom, I guess.

Remember Urban? He's the guard to the monastery custodian's house and tasks Henry with finding Procopius' ramen bowl or something. Turns out, if you don't return it to his cave as you promise, next time you speak to the meathead, the game may hang after the conversation. So, like a good Christian, I simply murdered him before he had a chance to foul up my game any more than usual. Good thing the forge area leads right down to the river.

Built the trebuchet after a lot of countryside trips, and managed to fend off Istvan's reinforcements down by the "ford". Now, the trebuchet is in danger of destruction. Reminds me of that one mission in Dragon Age: Inquisition, haha. The problem with this series of events is how the big bad seemingly knows what we're doing at all times, and at the right moment, when really it shouldn't be anything of the sort. Kinda annoying, even for scripted events.

Beat the game! It kinda got me in an FAQing mood, honestly -- haven't written anything since last March. Might try to do some stuff after I go through the DLC thoroughly (skipped the tournament stuff and Johanka's part of A Woman's Lot).

As for the storyline at the end, I rather liked it. Yeah, the part where Henry is Radzig's son is kinda lame, and letting Istvan escape is lame, but not everything has to be super complex in medieval times. This game definitely got me more interested in a sequel -- if not for the lovable characters, but to see how the gamecraft (bugs, etc.) improves on a sophomore take.

Yeah, I want the armor pieces. Did you get the House of Zoul armor from Band of Bastards? I'm curious how the tourney prizes stack up to it. Been wearing it ever since I stripped it off the old man's corpse, haha. I'm also curious how the Headcracker perk works in the tournament and if it's as OP as it could be. (Headcracker gives +10% chance of instant knockout on head knocks, if you remember.)

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Hmm, now I'm intrigued. Should try this later.

I have the clinch perk, so that should help. As for Magdeburg stuff, it should be inferior to Zoul stuff, at least defense-wise...I think. Usually, Zoul stuff is better than anything you can scrape off bandits' hides.

Also, I kinda want to go through again and maybe do some of the quests/feats I missed.

  • killing no one in the entire game besides Runt
  • beating game as a virgin (lol)
  • building Prabyslavitz without knowing how to read
  • betraying Matthew & Fritz in "Gallows Brothers" (which I didn't even do...or maybe I couldn't do)
I think there were some other secret achievements that seem kinda funny, like beating Hardcore mode with all bad perks or something.

For the "Cuck Henry" playthrough, did you just go through the game as quickly as possible? I suspect that's the easiest way to ensure you don't accidentally kill someone and forget later on.

I think there's an in-game list of activities (criminal, kills, etc.) like Skyrim, but I never used it. I think that could probably be used to keep track. Are there any hard spots on that kind of playthrough? I'm sure you can just do nonlethal takedowns or run away from most stuff, and leave major conflicts to NPCs, yeah?

Batons are nonlethal, huh? Never really got around to using bludgeons and maces like I wanted, unfortunately. I suppose combined with fleeing like a ninny as often as possible, and looting battlesite corpses for $$$ and gear, it wouldn't be too hard to go through the game in short order. Not looking forward to that monk mission, though, haha.

Won the Rattay tourney on my first try! Well...I guess second. Long ago I entered unassumingly and lost in the first round (pretty sure this was before I had weapons training from Bernard). Kicked Black Peter's ass by finally getting some perfect combo+counter stuff down. I rarely use combos, though.

I wish I'd paid more attention to the quests that fail by advancing the final battle stuff. I know one of the Miller theft quests failed, but I wasn't too interested in doing that, anyway. (Picking a very hard lock in Stephanie's bedroom for jewelry or something, even though it's impossible unless you're super high in the stat. Lame.) One of the quests, for the Talmberg huntsman, is glitched and won't even start.

The final missions aren't that difficult, honestly, so you should just go beat it. You can continue to dick around with leftover quests and stuff in the epilogue, if you want.

Yeah, I remember reading the secret achievement for it, so I was a little disappointed. It still displays the "new quest here" sun icon, though, so I thought maybe it would work...but naw. Unless I'm missing some trigger condition, like a certain time of day, etc. I have some other "become a poacher" quest already started, which I thought might conflict with it, but the window to complete it may have already passed, so...

Huh, I thought Johanka's part of the DLC would also be a flashback, but she just wanted me to check out some mine from her dreams and help wean Ambrose off the devil's dice. Honestly, when she said she wanted to tell the townsfolk about her dreams, I instantly had a "you gon' get burned at the stake, lady" thought, but that didn't happen, thankfully. I didn't get the trophy for drinking with Ambrose, even though we both got sauced and I had to pickpocket him while barely able to stand upright.

Gonna reload and do that properly. I guess I have to pick the options with the "three beers" icon beside 'em?

Hmm, I'll need to check my drinking skill. I rarely drink anything, especially now that I have the "nourishment doesn't decrease while you're standing still" perk, but combined with Saviour Schnapps + drinking in the main plot, maybe I reached the limit without knowing it.

Picking every "three beer" option in a row worked out fine. The quest ends up failing, though, so I'm going to restart. As it turns out, my drinking stat is at 9 right now, so maybe I lucked out a bit, haha.
