How many games does he actually buy in a month, maybe two or three? He spends nothing to upgrade his equipment or improve his streaming capabilities, so he's already putting almost all of the money he gets towards day-to-day expenses. At this point, he's basically running a begging stream that just happens to feature a bit of gameplay.

No words.

Yeah I remeber that, a while ago someone asked Phil if he'd rather fight Mike Tyson or someone else, and Phil choose Tyson convinced he would beat him with speed.

It's amazing and hilarious as fuck how disconnected from reality he is.

I would love to see him try to fight Mike Tyson and watch him eat his words (and a fist). I wouldn't pay to see it though because it would be over in 3 seconds. He can barely walk because of his back, how does he think he's going to beat an athlete who has trained for a significant part of his life, even past his prime?

Phil's only exercise is walking in the mall once a week on his day off, and his arms and legs have visibly atrophied from lack of use to the point that his body looks like it's sixty years old. I don't believe he could beat a normal person in their fifties.

The idea of Phil getting in an actual physical fight is hilarious to me.

We all know this'll never happen. He leaves his house once a week at best, remember, when someone donated the controller that was on his Amazon wishlist, it sat on his porch for 2-3 days.

He is deathly afraid of confrontation. Every time someone manages to call him out in game, he will block communicatiin and THEN and only then, will he retort. Fuck, he was even afraid to confront an 11 year old girl. This is what you see in his chat all the time, unless you are there to talk Phil up, you get banned.

Hell, he is so pathetic he ragequit Super Turbo over a trollish name. I guess he lost his spine over his "severely herniated disc".

Nah, old Phil is much more enjoyable, he is a bitter joyless asshole:

PewDiePie achieved 100 million subs. That is not only fucking impressive, but he is just one guy. No network, company anything.

Phil of course, had to lash out again, calling PDP irrelevant. Weird thing is, even after weeks of being uploaded, Phil's videos barely break 1k views, whereas PDP's videos break millions of views in just a day. But sure, "irrelevant".

Also, apparantly someone promissed Phil a Genesis mini, and has backed out of this, Phil took to twitter to inform of us of the sad news. Now, rumour has it, that this is the guy who also asked Phil to return it after he was done with it, only to be scolded and hence he dropped out. Wether true or not, Phil's pity party worked, since someone else "stepped" up and bought it. This is a man who made 8k - 10k over the month of July, but spending 80 dollars is just too much for him.

Phil had another slip up, he wanted to say he doesn't have any money, what he actually said was that he doesn't have any spending money.

There is apparantly a mystery bill coming up this September, which has Phil worried. He is also taking more days off than usual and Kat's birthday is coming up. Again, a huge disconnect between what Phil says, and what he does.

Phil also got angry at his chat, because people asked him several questions regarding his favourite/least favourite somethings. I am sure he couldn't even recall details about a game/games he played last week.

Ever notice when he spends time off stream, it always starts with a "story" about food, and him and Kat eating out? I honestly believe that food is one of the few things that gets him remotely excited anymore. Well that, and clocking out.

I know it's a minor thing, but it always annoys me when he says someone "stepped up" or needs to "step up." The term means taking responsibility or doing the right thing, and I think it's pretty repugnant of Phil to imply that his viewers basically owe him their support, as if anyone not "stepping up" to support Phil financially is somehow shirking their duty or doing less than what's expected of them. Again, it's something small, but I believe he uses that term intentionally to guilt his viewers.

No it's a fair complaint, he knows very well what he does. By using the term "stepping up" he shifts the responsibility to his viewers. You'll also notice that when an "emergency" arises it's always "we".

"We are going to face this problem, we are going to make it" etc. But when the "problem" is conquered, it's back to "I". Phil is very careful in his choice of words, in order to indoctrinate his followers.

He may be an asshole, but he is not a moron.

He obfuscate the truth constantly. He loves saying that no one has proof to catch him in the lie. And that is absolutely true, but he has never presented evidence of his situation (taxes come to mind for example) either. And as long no one knows the truth, no one can disprove him either. That is the game he plays.

I can't really fault the people for voting "bad" games.

The problem is that he only plays the games for a couple of hours. In Morrowind that is barely enough to get through the character creator/opening of the game. Morrowind requires you to pay attention, figure stuff out yourself. Pretty sire Phil would get his ass handed by the first basement full of rats, and there would be enough rage down the road 10 hours into the game. The same goes for most games, you need to get invested and that takes time.

The rage-a-thons this guys does are bullshit just because of that. Imagine him playing SFV the entire stream, imagine how butt befuddled he'll be near the end of the stream. Now THAT would be a rage-a-thon. Bit like with everything in his life, he barely half asses it.

From the bit of Tevin's restream I watched, Phil wasn't even trying to fake the rage. He just seemed bored and uninterested in the games. Maybe if he wants to use these marathons to raise money for his neverending financial crisis, he should come up with something that he actually gives a shit about.

Yeah, I definitely caught that he wasn't interested in the games he was playing in the short time I watched the stream. As a viewer, nothing puts one off more with a streamer than knowing they don't want to play the game(s), especially for someone with as little interaction with the viewers at it is.

And it's not as if this is an uncommon thing. Tune into any of his streams and there's a good chance you'll see him slumped back on his couch, yawning and looking bored out of his mind. If it's pointed out to him that he seems disinterested with the game, he'll likely blame chat for not interacting with him, or he'll blame his fans for picking out the game. As the host of the stream (you know, the one making 100 grand a year to play video games for an audience) it's obviously not his responsibility to keep things entertaining.

Sometimes, I'll pop into his stream, just to see what he's playing, but I end up leaving after like five minutes because of the above. I watched SF5 a little more than usual to hear his tired old "this game is eating my inputs/the lag is horrible/this game is shit" spiel, but it didn't last much longer than the five minutes.

So...he just started the Blair Witch game and he ignored the phone call at the very beginning of the game that sets up the plot and explains why your character is doing what he's doing. "ACK ACK ACK who cares about plot ACK ACK ACK!"

Edit: 5 minutes into the game and he's going around in circles because of his Mr. Magoo vision and declares that the game sucks. Apparently following a fucking dirt path is too hard for him to figure out. "Nothing's happening yet, this game is boring, I thought it was supposed to be scary."

Scroll through the entire thing, it contains 2 clips of Phil losing 200 dollars on matches, he also wins a 10 dollar match and trash talks after that (even though he is net -390 dollars), and he lost another 200 ollars to Mixup at that ECC, no clip though.

Nevermind, found a clip with commentary, it really shows how hard Phil got boddied. He never bothers to learn a game's mechanics and nuances, just one combo and go, like he has always done:

Yeah like in MvCI his first main team was Thanos and Nemesis, and he got bodied hard.

It's a cycle you will see in ANY fighting game he plays. Because he does have muscle memory for a lot of moves, when he starts at the bottom of the ladder, he'll have no problems beating new players to fighting game genre. He'll climb through the ranks pretty quick, and then he'll hit his ceiling. He'll get matched with people who are of similar skill: People who are veterans like he is, or people who are new, have put in the effort and learned the game.

The latter one is important. Because no 2 fighting games are the same. Sure input methods may be the same, but things like frame advantage, buffering, option selects, canceling, super, etc, Phil never bothers to learn any of those. Something he did during MKX, was crouch punch + tick throw. Against someone who is new, this will work, they'll block, be at a disadvantage due to recovery frames, and Phil will then throw.

Funny thing, all you have to do to get out, is neutral jump on wake-up and the throw will whiff. And the problem is, Phil doesn't know combos, mix-ups, anything like that. So when his strategy fails, he'll get annoyed and frustrated, call people out and out comes his usual torrent of excuses. Phil assumes that character X does Y to achieve Z (so attack, into block into throw). He also expects the reverse, but if someone uses A to achieve Z (A is the opener to combo Z), then Phil is flustered and you'll hear shit like "that doesn't work offline" and the like.

Why this is important and I bothered typing it out? The link to the match with commentary in my previous post. Mixup runs circles around Phil, he took him out 10-0 and never was in danger of losing as much as a single round. Phil loves to talk "technical" terms about fighting games and people might be susceptible to it, but he is just full of shit.

Also, this circle of "X character does Y to achieve Z" can be applied to pretty much any game Phil plays. If someone behaves in an unexpected way, Phil will be at a loss what to do, in shooters that means he'll spray 'n pray all panicked and complains that "that is not what happened on my screen" when the kill-cam comes.

His brain doesn't retain information for some reason. So he'll default to what he knows, and tries to apply that to every game he plays. He's played through the Dark Souls games a dozen or so times. Fuck, I haven't touched the first game in years, and I still know all possible routes and item locations in the game. But if Phil is playing a game for the first time or tenth time, he will make exactly the same errors.

The way Phil talks continues to fascinate me.

-Was going through a couple of clips, he keeps saying shit like mature adult (funny tidbit, in Dutch mature means volwassen, adult means volwassen too, so basically he is saying in my language his is an adult adult or mature mature), but I also heard him saying playing something cold turkey. Of course his explanation for a rainy day fund is in my top 5 things he said.

-Also saw a clip of Destiny reacting to Phil about buying a car, it was hilarious as fuck and you can see how much he tries to brainwash his followers into believing his is some kind of authority on the subject he talks about. He said stuff like "a buyers market for cars". It's hilarious. Oh and of course, the infamous oil change because the car didn't notify him.

-Also saw a clip of his Judgement playthrough, where he once again misused the word penultimate.

-One of my favourite things recently was Phil defending himself that he couldn't remember everything: "Not everybody has a photogenic memory, where they remember everything."

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=photogenic%20memory

the recall of an individual who edits their own memories in order to enhance their own reputation or repress an undesirable truth.

UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHING INTENSIFIES

-Calls being Italian a race (I guess the worth ethnicity is strange to him).

-His misuse of the words factually incorrect, when it's clearly about an opinion.

-The way he uses "Modern Era", kind of like a spin to "current year".

-And one recurring each and every year: the hardcore gaming season. If you google it, if you ignore the urban dictionary (it's just there for shits and giggles, you'll see that the only results that complete match the phrase, are Phil's. No other person in the entire fucking world uses it.

I imagine his odd use of words is partly because of how much he's isolated himself. The only person he talks to on a regular basis is Kat, and it's unclear how much they actually talk. For the most part, he's talking at (not to) an audience of strangers who aren't in any position to talk back. Every day he says basically the same things. In many cases, he repeats the exact same words and phrases again and again, apparently possessing a very small vocabulary. He isn't participating in normal conversation, so he's only experiencing the manner in which he uses words. Plus, he doesn't respond well to criticism, so he never improves. Case in point, I know I heard someone correct him on his use of "penultimate" at some point in the past, yet he still uses it incorrectly.

The whole thing is fascinating, and I wonder if any other streamers have had their language devolve in this way.

I think that other streamers have an actual active social life outside of streaming. Phil goes out of his way to avoid interaction, and because no one can give him feedback/correct him (and if you dare do that in chat, prepare to be scolded) his way of speaking changes.

If you create your own bubble and no one can challenge you, you literally start living in your world.
