Regardless of what he's done or how you feel about him (and personally I don't like him), you don't cheer for people getting injured. Especially when it's a career changing injury like that.

I am not remotely surprised that you feel that way because you have always been that way about players you dislike in sports.

Dude's a jerk to fans because fans are a jerk to him. I don't recall him ever going after fans until they started reacting like you're doing now. He at least has a reason to be hostile to them. Also I dislike Durant for what he has done to the NBA and on social media but can't fault him for going to the Warriors even if it did fuck the NBA for years. Dude wanted to win and theres no rule in place preventing it. The vast majority of players would have done the same thing.

Shitty for non Warriors fans but it's not like the superteam was created by the Warriors. Players have been doing it for a while and as long as the CBA allows then they are going to keep doing it. I can't see how you can easily prevent it whilst the soft cap is in place. Also got to remember it was the players themselves that enabled the current landscape by wanting the cap rise all in one go rather than phased in to prevent that scenario. The cap jumping massive amounts was what allowed the Warriors to do it and that only came about because players wanted their money and wanted it now.

Also other teams were at fault too. Maybe if front offices hadn't gone around throwing money around like it was going out of style that summer, some other teams may have been able to rise up. But teams were given a huge caprise and the majority squandered it by giving absolutely atrocious contracts to players who didn't remotely deserve them and we are still seeing some of those contracts in play now. Warriors out there giving Durant like 25m whilst other teams are giving players like Mozgov and Biyombo 17m a year for 4 years

I'm going on gut reaction from an objective observer who doesn't really care much for the outcome. I watched an initial cheer when Ibaka got the fast break. Then I watched as the cheer turned into manic, elated screaming when the play was over and Durant was calling over the medical staff.

When I saw Durant go down I said out loud "oh no" because it was obvious he was done for the series. To have that sunken feeling for the guy while thousands of people were cheering and taunting at him was really fucking gross.

Not only that, but they cheer for Kawhi who left SA for inappropriately regarding his injury. If he leaves after he just bought a house in Toronto, well, you know why.

It's almost like the public is going to base their opinion on your fanbase by the fans that they are able to see. Shocking.

I also already addressed this.

The public may, but that doesn't mean that we, as reasonable individuals, should just take that as an excuse to bash all raptors fans, nor does that make the public's point of view right. Yes, a lot of fans will make it look worse than a few fans, but we still know it wasn't all fans. We shouldn't be sticking up for "the public's" point of view when they're too stupid/biased to realize that, hey, just because a lot of people did a bad thing, doesn't mean that all or even a majority of fans feel that way.

I'm not bashing all Raptors fans but I do think it's some convenient handwaving to say that if the fans we could see did something that is perceived as negative, then the portion that we couldn't see just happens to be the polar opposite.

I think the chances are that if the portion of the fanbase we couldn't see was put into that same atmosphere, then we see a similar result because of mob mentality. Probably slightly lesser numbers as I'm sure that behavior is more prevalent amongst diehard fans and there's going to be a larger proportion of those fans in attendance.

Of course it isn't all Raptors fans, I'm not stupid. I just think it's naive to say that we get a completely opposite reaction from the fans we can't see.

And I totally get why the Raptors fans in this topic are offended by it. I'm sure any fan would be if other people are calling out your fanbase. I am not accusing any of the Raptors fans in this topic of being that way as that is not remotely what I've seen from you guys all season.

The fans were caught up in the moment. I mean, it was only how much after Kevin Durant was towering over Van Vleet shit talking him and getting up in his face. Most news stories say that after the players finally calmed the crowd, and they got a hold of themselves that they cheered "KD" and clapped for him when he was able to get up off the court.

News at 11. Crowds too into something can't take something into account right away and be classy. Almost like a minority owner shoving a player during a game.

People get caught up. Doesn't make their actions right, but probably isn't the bestest way to judge people either though.
