It's more Pistons/Lakers 2004.

Pistons were considered the second best team in the East (like Toronto) and the Pacers won 62 games (like the Bucks), but Pistons knocked them off 4-2. Then were heavy underdogs to a team that had won 3 of the previous 4 championships (like the Warriors).

Toronto noise update:

it's an hour and a half later and cars are still honking as often and as loud as ever. I also just heard 8 really loud bangs a few minutes ago, that sounded like a cannon was being set off. Police sirens occasionally interspersed amidst the cacophony.

If this is the reaction after the 3rd win, makes me wonder what it'd be after the last...

I don't remember it ever being this bad but then I realized, I've never been in a city when a professional franchise has been successful (the Marlies don't count)

I remember the square being closed off when Canada won the gold at men's hockey in the 2010 olympics... and I think I remember some occasional honking during World Cups. I wasn't in Ottawa when the Sens were in the cup finals, but that's not really a city or team that generates "drive around for two hours honking your horn" levels of enthusiasm. If/when the Raptors win I'll need to arrange with my boss to work from home the next day since I'll get no sleep that night, lol.

It's just so weird to think the Raptors are so close. It seemed like you had these juggernaut superteams that would always stop them in the east (okay, Lebron moreso than a superteam), or stomp them from the west. It's crazy.

Kawhi is so ridiculously likable despite him actively trying to be like the opposite. Have to wonder what happens if he never gets hurt in that Warriors/Spurs playoff series. That could have changed the NBA landscape a lot

I like the meme where it says Kawhi just goes home and sits with his his wife and kids at the dinner table acting like he got home from a standard 9-5 job and his family don't even know he's a basketball player because I could believe it.

With how celebrities and sports stars are nowadays its refreshing to see a guy like Kawhi is just about winning and doesn't care about the superstardom or personal glory or anything that goes with it. Dude just wants to win and go home

50% offensive KD is still lethal but show me him running up and down the court before I'd be to worried. His def6would be slim to none currently (please god)

50% Durant is probably still a massive improvement just from reducing the number of minutes of the guys who have had to fill in for his minutes

Not going to lie and say I'm not nervous that there's a chance Durant comes in and changes the entirety of this series.

They need to get the win tonight, the last thing any Raptors fan wants is for this to go to game 7.
