Keep in mind SephGoku's take is largely based on them pre buff. I think that buff they just got is significant for their viability. You can feasibly hit two level 3 Overstrikes with them with some limited quickcast shenanigans now.

That being said Tidus's USB1 is one of the better ones so it has some stiff competition. In general though I think it'll be more of a lateral/slight upgrade than a downgrade. We'll see how the math plays out when some people play around with em

with a chain, USB1 is definitely going to be better. you have a 35% chance of doing more than 100k with that while also building the chain more. the instant cast 1 even offsets the quickcast to some extent.

i could maybe see brave USB being better without a chain, where the chasers won't do much and sapphire bullet might not even cap.

Even with the buff I still don't think overstrike Braves are really that great, even without a chain. I rarely use Terra's Brave over her USB1 and I have no fire chain, just seems like quicker cast chain fiajas just get the job done before I would really need an overstrike (having Phoenix magicite also lowers the appeal of her brave) Maybe it's better for some characters but not Tidus, with Sapphire Bullet and 6 chases that's 11 hits (16 if he doublecasts) 1 free OSB is rather underwhelming.

The buff benefits Thancred really good though since he does 10 hits and gets his higher breakdown quicker.

I am updating my FFRK chart now that I am back from a couple month break. I think I am at the point that I bet I can hellmurder a lot of content without realizing it. I need to get started o nthe 4* magicites and the holy/dark ones are stopping me at the moment so I am compiling all of my soul breaks and hoping you guys can give me tips on a solid team, because I am pretty sure a few of my elements are going to just hellmurder 4 star stuff

Kain's in particular wasn't even improved at all. it gives instant airtime 2 and you don't wanna waste that. i guess if you don't get enough meter to cast the SB every 3 turns you might occasionally take advantage of that buff to fit in 2 brave commands .

I did D??? on FFX with 59% on second try with Wakka Yuna Auron Tidus Rikku. 60% should be really easy to hit, but I think a lot more is possible. I kinda crumpled like a house of cards cause of a healing botch and with all the breaks I have Yuna burst seems to be adequate healing here.

I'll give it some more tries when I'm pressed for rubies but for now I'll accept that.

I don't tend to spend money on the game, I didn't miss them. Although good to know I should want that USB!

Anyway I have been compiling my ideas for a dark team

I have Shadow USB/BSB (Abandoned Past, Shuriken Storm) and Nabaat USB/BSB (Giver of Pain, Shuriken storm) and also Fran's Vanquished Cries USB and Alphinaud's Tera Flare USB and Seifer's CSB and I don't think anything else for him really.

So I am thinking Shadow solo with Seifer Chain, pUSB (that's kind of my default), Aerith healing (she has her broken USB) and Shelke doing Shelke things? Does this seem reasonable? Like I said I just realized the different parts I have and I figure gen 2 chain is good but not sure how good Shadow is.

Also I beat the dark (not sub 30) with basically literally just Beatrix BSB/USB. Those 15 hit combos over and over and over. I literally just used Yuna and Holy for my other DPS (I have like no holy DPSers like wtf) and beat it in 36 seconds with my other three unchanged of aerith/Shelke/OK

Also I just realized I got a Tifa USB that is earth and also gives me haste, which makes me more flexible for thar. A shame it's my only Earth USB outside of Bartz but yeah.

Here's what I am working with right now. Going to organize this by realm at some point but yeah. Going to spend the rest of my tickets on ice orbs tbh, I somehow ran through all of them!

Then my next goal is going to be do enough torments to get the water 6 star for tidus (my boy) and go from there. I was just 20 short but decided to splurge on bravery motes to get Beatrix dived which gave me my shadow dragon kill so yeah <_<.

I think I have enough stuff to beat a lot of the 240s though, haven't attempted most of them yet.

Just sub 30'd the 4* fire magicite in 23 seconds. I got off Bartz' AOSB and Tidus' AOSB just before my 99 chain expired and did like 500k damage in .1 seconds <.<

Noctis (and non elemental in general) isn't really worth investing since it doesn't get the benefits of most of what the meta revolves around currently (equipment elemental boosts, magicite boosts, infusion, imperils and chains besides realm) Noctis' only niche is spamming his Super to give the party instant casts since he falls behind elemental characters as DPS, even against bosses who resist all elements with gen 2 chains around now.

i assume your team was Orlandu, Ramza, Vaan, Tyro, Aeris/Elarra? Ramza should be doing more damage than Vaan under his chain.

still, Cloud/Zack would be way better than Orlandu/Ramza.

How should he be ran?

A wind team would work better than Holy, Zack/Cloud/Vaan/Tyro/Elara.

Zack for chain/ripping blasts and imperils, Cloud for damage/AOSB to get through the last phase ASAP, Vaan for breakdowns and chain building with Dash&Slash if you also have one of his USBs. Tyro for Godwall and use him as an entrustbot or dancer.

well like i said you should be using Cloud and Zack

i guess if you were to use Ramza you should have assault saber for sure. then i'm not sure if it'd be better to give full break to Ramza and wrath/entrust on Tyro or just stick with pure assault saber on Ramza and give full break to Tyro.

Oh man, I totally forgot about Vaan. I just used my Dark team and overpowered him with offense, but it was close. He killed Seifer while he was in the middle of recasting the chain and Orlandu/Shadow had to finish the job with no chain.

i at least considered Vaan but without godwall it seems impossible to fit him in. i got my breaks from Rikku with hyper mighty guard instead, which is like equal mitigation-wise, just that it does no damage.

Have about 200 myself. Will mostly be skipping this next fest but I'll do RoP and maybe the Rydia earth banner for a draw or two.

I have 11 mythril right now so I'm basically skipping the fest, but I hope to scrape together enough for the realms on parade. Next fest is the big one so I don't feel too bad about skipping these banners.

Also, IX torment dropping this week. My IX team is probably stronger than most of my realms since I have the all-important instant heal USB, plus Vivi's USB, Quina's USB, and fully dived Zidane and Beatrix with BSBs and OSBs. I should at least be able to do 50% on the d??? and maybe more.

I got Vivi's USB from the last select and my Zidane is (unfortunately) quite stacked. Garnet and Eiko are also passable support with their bursts and me having Vivi and Garnet dived. With Amarant and his Ultra to round out the team I should have a vaguely decent shot at 50% on the ???, which is weird to say considering it was one of my weaker realms previously.

I have 55 Mythril at the moment (haven't done the FFX events yet though, saving those for Sunday) I should be okay for RoP, most likely won't pull on next fest (although I do really want OK USB3/AOSB...) I'll budget a couple pulls on FF1/11 for the torments but otherwise I'll be saving up for the fourth anniversary.

Not feeling confident on FF9's torment, my synergy used to be ok back in BSB era, I had a BSB for every character except Quina and Marcus. But I haven't had much luck with current stuff, only USBs I have are Kuja and (lol) Steiner, and I don't think Kuja can carry the win mostly by himself.

These next banners aren't really appealing though, don't want Freya or Marcus stuff and Banner 2 has too many Kuja dupes. I'll just hold off till a better FF9 banner shows up.

Im pretty sure the only relic I dont have I even remotely care about currently is Palom USB, so I can double stack that with Vivi USB and run train with double double casts...

Though apparently Bartz and Cloud USB2 would be good to stack with my USB 1s for them

I suggest you either target Chains, top-tier healer relics (Elarra, Aeris), or wait for the major powercreep of 4th anniversary.

Do you have no idea because there's nothing you want or because you're not sure what you should be going for?

If there's nothing you want then it definitely doesn't hurt to save for 4th anniversary and go nuts there.

If you're not sure what you need then yeah, trying for at least one chain in every element is a good idea. One physical and one magical chain in each element is even better. And Elarra/Aeris healing USBs are great.

Oh and realms on parade is always a great value. Do all of those unless you already have basically everything good for the realm.

No Earth (like 200 myth on Galuf/Gilg Chain)
No Light (haven't really tried)
No Water (8 billion draws)
2 Ice (Rinoa and 2x Snow, never drawn for either. Daily for Rinoa + 100 gem + Lucky for Snow)
3 Fire (never drew for any. Got Locke on a banner while drawing for Sabin USB, Gilgx2 as consolation while going for Galuf Chain and Vincent on FFVII realm draw)
2 Dark (Seymour + Golbez on 100 gem for Seymour and 15 myth IV Realm for Golbez)
1Lightning (Garnet from draw of a Legend Select)

So yeah basically have terrible luck on drawing for them but it balances out a bit

admittedly i haven't tried much for any chains except Zack, Garnet and Laguna but it's still really frustrating, at least 1000 mythril between the 3 without getting any of them. the other frustrating thing is that both banners with earth chains that i was planning on pulling on got nerfed so i just didn't pull on them at all (one because i got dupes, other was a fest banner that removed Tifa).

and of course the most frustrating thing, the simple lack of mythril. they don't give us nearly enough with how many different relics we need.
