How useful is Cloud USB2 paired with his USB?

depends on if you have Zack's CSB. if so it's basically the strongest thing in global right now. if not it's probably not as good as characters like Bartz, Celes and Zidane due to the setup time, but still good, especially if you have the AOSB.

The Glints are lame, and my experience with Maria's LMR shows that start with en-element LMRs are pretty disappointing if your USB has en-element anyway.

I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that Aeris's is better straight up but multipurpose utility is not to be denied either.

I'm not taking Elarra's that's for sure. But I'm probably not taking a healing one win general. If I did though I'd take Aeris's first

from a pure gameplay perspective i feel like you would be crazy to consider anything but Elarra. MAYBE Aeris if you already had Relm, since Relm is at least a passable substitute for mage teams and Aeris can potentially be better than Elarra in physical teams.

but this is a fan-service game in addition to being a skinner box. it would not be crazy at all if you don't care about Elarra's character to want to grab something for your favorites rather than the the most optimal choice for the skinner box.

2/11 Aerith LMR and Ovelia LMR.

Doublecast LMRs are never bad, but I really wanted those USBs, especially Aerith's.

I'd almost be tempted to go for a full price draw on this banner. Probably not, since I'm now up to 6 dupes, but healer USBs are so important for torment, and I have a whooping 2 of them (Yuna, which isn't instant, and Aphmau, which is great for party IC, but lacks survivability with its weaker heal and an often wasted Hastega)

Definitely considering Aerith USB over Elarra USB on the select, after this one. Aerith USB+LMR+LM2 sounds amazing, and I absolutely prefer Aerith as a character over Elarra.

I think Aerith is better for physical teams but the fact that Elarra speeds up her own actions is a legitimate advantage. I think Last Stand is probably better though (and the extra turn of fastcast for the rest of the team is great). Elarra is obviously way better for magic teams which seems to be what I'm having more trouble with.

Shantotto I've wanted for a long time and it would really help on Geosgaeno which I'm still struggling with.

Quistis would mostly just be for VIII torment (I already have her glint and LMR, as well as a pretty sold VIII ice team in Squall USB2, Rinoa USB1, Selphie USB, Lagnua CSB) although I could use her on almost any Magic team. Although she does kinda feel like a narrower version of OK.

And yeah, I would consider a 50 mythril draw with 1 legitimate top tier USB and 3 others that would be a huge help in their corresponding Torment (I already have Ovelia's)... except I have no mythril left.

As an Elara USB user I rarely need last stand anymore, regenra let's you shrug off damage from most bosses, even from Famfrit with faith and savage mode! Heck I rarely use heal spells on her as well, I mostly use summons that hit weakness for more meter building or Allegro/dances. And if you have her bsb she has last stand as a pocket option anyway.

Not sure if I'm going to do the LM draw. The list feels pretty dated, it doesn't have Ramza's dualcast LM, it doesn't even have Galuf's QC3 LM which wasn't in the last V event and isn't in the next V event... that one was pretty high on my list. So not sure what I would take... is Laguna's 20% ice imperil LM worth it? Maybe Zidane's doublecast wind or Shantotto's triplecast witch? OK's is still good but I have even less use case for him than I did last time since I've already cleared Earth Magicite.

My plan for the selection is to try to save 50 mythril for another pull on the healer banner first. But maybe I should stop overthinking it and just take Elarra.

I wouldn't count on that. This is the first year we're getting the full JP Golden Week stuff, other years we just got a special black friday banner (or banners). Although it would be nice if they give us something special to make up for not getting the lucky bags and all the other stuff we haven't gotten. CSB/AOSB/Glint dream select??

Does that team work for you? I've been trying to do Geosgaeno with Ashe, Shantotto, Rapha, Aphmau, Larsa... but I can't stay alive without a last stand. I guess Relm does give you more healing power than Aphmau, sadly I don't have her.

Do you just eat the petrify and win with two AOSBs or how are you handling that?

Also Rapha's damage is pretty pathetic. I thought it would be better because of enLightning but her stats are just too low... I could really use a 6* lightning rod.
