I bought a Valter. Aversa will probably be my second to +10. I like Joshua and Marisa and Robin more but she serves the most unique purpose of the others. Not sure who after those 4. Maybe Eliwood. Maybe some skill fodder. Probably just hoard in case another good TT/GHB unit shows up at some point.

I imagine the currency will eventually come in more quickly once they've realized they've grossly undertuned it just like they did with feathers. But yeah no huge rush. I'm just annoyed that they had the perfect gimmick to give these guys natures and missed it.

No they haven't. God knows why. The game would be so much more convenient if they just colored the good attribute green and the bad attribute red and explained it in the menus instead of making me go to a wikipedia page whenever I draw a new unit.

I wish they'd spend their time on new modes just developing fun maps to play.

Remove all modes that aren't story, arena and I guess arena assault from the game, instead give us a GHB style map to solve daily with a 2 week time limit per map or so.

Game is suddenly much better. I'm sure you'd get some lemons but if one was released per day you'd probably hit often enough that it'd be good.

There's like one mode I'd actually like to see in the game, a gauntlet type thing to emulate normal fire emblem where you build temporary copies of low level characters up featuring permadeath for the temp units, etc, but I have my doubts we'll ever see anything like it. As I only really play for GHB maps and to do gacha draws.

Having not touched the game in a while, heard about Grails and think that sounds neat. Racked up a bunch of orbs quickly and got a +HP -Atk Loki without much trouble, and with how Thokk works that's actually not a terrible setup.

You start with a fair amount of storage space so you don't need to worry about duplicates or unwanted unit for a while.

If you don't mind skipping ahead a bit in the story, you want to beat Book II Chapter 1 (Lv5 enemies) to pick up Fjorm and Xenologue 3 (Lv10 enemies) for Ike.

In regards to summoning strategy, one of the most popular ones is called "sniping". This is when a player only targets coloured stones that match the 5* focus unit they want. For example, if you wanted Myrrh, you would only select Red stones whenever possible and back out if there are none left.

In regards to unit stats. The same unit of the same rarity can have slightly different stats at max level (Lv40). For each of a units 5 stats, there are 3 possible final values: low, medium and high. Usually, one stat is selected to be the low value, one will be the high value and the other three will be the medium value. Sometimes a unit will just have 5 medium values, though. This stat variation is known as a unit's IV (because apparently there are a lot of Pokemon fans who play this game). You can determine a units IVs based on their Lv1 or Lv40 stats by comparing them to charts online. There's no easy in game way to find your unit's IVs. Units that are given out for free (like your Brave Lyn and Brave Hector) always have 5x Medium stats. Generally units with -Atk are among the worse variations of a unit. -Spd can hurt as well depending on the unit.

The biggest source of Orbs right now are the Story maps but they won't go anywhere. See if you can complete any of the lower difficulty versions of the Bound Hero Battle or Rival Domains first. The other special maps right now are just maps the cycle daily so you can do them whenever.

At the beginning, your team will basically consist of whichever 5* units you managed to summon. It's 20k feathers to promote a 4* to a 5* so it will take your some time to grow your roster that way. There are quite a number of useful 4* units to look into later.

It's nice to have a balance of each color on your team. Eventually, you may form cavalry, armor, or flying teams since there are skills available that buff the same unit type like Hone Cavalry or Fortify Cavalry.

You probably want a decent variety of units to start with. For example, you don't even have a 5* Green unit right now. Eventually you'll want to make teams of a specific movement type or blessing since a lot of quests ask for things like "Use a team of 4 armors to do X" or "Use 4 Cavalry to do Y". Hone Cavalry and Fortify Cavalry are relatively common skills so making a cavalry team generally isn't too bad.

Some players like to aim for a high ranking in the Arena as a long term goal. Arena scoring is a bit wonky so you'll need to read up on the details on it if you want to make a team for that.

Exp boosting is kinda useful at first since you are training a bunch of characters to Lv40. However, in the long term you will be drowning in shard and crystals so exp is never really a problem. In fact, you'll frequently want less exp while battling since that means the unit gains more SP on the way to Lv40.

Aether battles are a bit more complicated than they should be for sure. The tutorials are kinda bad. Just poke around the battles and building menus a bit. The key is that you kill the enemy team without dying, and killing the two aether structures are stretch goals to get an aether refund.

But I think I like this. Wait. I like this?

That's not how new modes are supposed to be.

Haven't seriously played Arena in a real long time. Much easier to just veer from 18-20 and get the easy orbs weekly than put any real effort in. I will eventually get some Lokis due to drawing for her because I want one with a decent nature on her, and then I'll probably use the Duel Skills on Matthew and Serra and rake with a good score, but before then yeah there's no point.

Got a lot of satisfaction of seeing my Nino just destroy someone's team because they tried to tank her with Female Grima.

(In compete fairness their only merged unit is a +1 Raven so I basically just dunked on a beginner, but still it was fun to watch)

Really hope they bring this feature to regular arena in the near future.

got a free dream female Corrin from the new banner. -spd unfortunately but +atk to sorta make up for it. better than Anna for next arena season at least, and good for auto-battling that upcoming TT.

this new mode... kinda skeptical atm. it's been very easy to win deathless, like significantly easier than regular arena. one guy i faced had the most obnoxious setup to kill their aether things though so i was only able to kill one. they basically gave up on actually killing anyone, 4 offensive cav units with no obstructions to go after you right down the middle and buried their aether in the corners behind tons of junk. another one i just messed up and hit a trap when i was trying to attack their aether, but could have attacked from a different direction and not hit the trap, so i missed out there as well, so i couldn't reach 900.

If your Lift is over 4000, you lose Lift for failed defenses. If your defense team is able to kill some attacks, it reduces the amount of Lift you lose for the loss. After your defense team loses once, you won't lose any Lift for further losses for the next 20 hours.

That's the incentive for having stronger defenses. However, I'm of the opinion that it's a lost cause. At least with the resources I have. So I plan to just take the hit every 20 hours and dump everything into Offense.

Yeah there are a ton of menus and stuff that were trickled in as new features over time that I could see being overwhelming to new players. They really should story gate more stuff. Just read the ? explanations in the corner for the menus and do as best you can. Most of it isn't totally important as you've realized

There's definitely a lot of different things to learn about. Units had a lot fewer skills at launch and complexity sort of grew over time. Eventually you'll have the common skills memorized and what types of units might want them via Skill Inheritance. Rare skill are rare so you can just decide as you go how to deal with them.

Yeah it takes a while to get used to, but it eventually becomes second nature.

For new accounts I'd recommend working on going through book 1 so you can unlock the sacred seal forge and the weapon refinery. Both of these are unlockable in the intermission missions at the end of book 1.

Though if you haven't already, you can get a free hero by clearing chapter 1 of Book 2(You don't have to clear all of book 1 to access Book 2)

Big things that are important to absorb how they work:

Skill Inheritance, Merging/Unlock Potential, Weapon Refining, Sacred Seals

But even then just getting dudes to level 40 comes first

Everything else is pretty minor. Like combat manuals are good to look into if you're running out of barracks space, but pretty minor.

The replays might be my favourite feature of Aether Raids. Watching some, it amazes me how many people still get caught out by Armor March after all this time, even on units it natively comes on. They usually still win of course, because most teams are still three from Reinhardt, Brave Lyn, Veronica or Fjorm + a dancer, but it raises a smile at least.
