I usually win offense even with their fortress at 2 so I've been focusing defense, personally. Seems like more potential upside there

Yeah, if you can consistently win and break the Aether buildings on Offense, it is better to go for Defense. Your defense team will still lose almost all of the time but you can't do better than perfect on Offense. Even if you aren't perfect on Offense, it is worth keeping in mind if a few extra stat points would have saved your run or not. If your losses were due to unexpected CPU movement, extra stat points might not have saved you anyways.

If I'm at 4k lift or above and lose a defense, do I get dropped below 4k?

No, you can't fall below 4000. If you are at 4020 and take a full loss, you only lose 20 instead of the normal 80.

But will your tier drop if you are at the edge of 12 or above and lose a defense?

Yes, your Tier can go down if you lose enough points. You just can't go below Tier 11.

Hrid (worst nature of -Atk/+Spd. If I needed any incentive to fodder him. Came off a circle of 2 Green 3 Red)
Glorious Lucina (+Res/-Def. It's whatever but I kinda wanted her)

I won't complain about a +1 to Grima (now +5! Can I get a good nature before +10? Stay tuned!), Distant Counter Fodder, and a Lucina I guess.

Speaking of (Legendary)Grima....

After this banner, Legendary Grima won't return until late February. So anyone who wants to grab her(or more merges for her) may want to get them now.

Of course this also strongly suggests that we actually will get a legendary colorless hero for December. Unless they just have three non legends on colorless for whatever reason.

So perhaps something to look forward to next month.

We can all pretend we won't pull Mist instead.

28 orbs for a Noire and a Hector. Was aiming more for Lucina merges and a Cordelia with better IVs than the one I have, but I know I could easily go through my remaining 75 orbs without seeing anything so I might just hold off here and continue saving for Christmas.

After hearing some Fire Emblem Heroes remixes in a certain upcoming game I decided to finally to download this game, and I finished the Preface maps

I'm mostly interested in hearing the English voice acting and various interactions of characters who didnt really get to say much in previous games

I'm not stoked about the gacha aspect but I'll likely just roll every day or whenver just to see voice acting of new character I draw

Ha. This man wants dialogue for his supports. You'll get none of that

You get orbs from doing story, quests, login bonuses, and the various modes, and you only get one free summon per BANNER, not day. Free orbs are fairly abundant though

Yeah, for written dialogue, you have the limited time Forging Bonds mode which is just 4 specific characters regardless of whether you have them or not, you have getting 5-star characters to level 40, and then I guess story/paralogues/xenologues (which you're not going to find anything great in).

Most of the voice acting for a character can be heard by tapping on them when you're on their character screen, but they also have a few voiced lines for attacks when their special activates and for when you move them around in battle. There's a place in the game where you can view that stuff for all characters you summoned in the game without having to actually battle somewhere in the menus, but not sure where that even can be found in the menus at this point.

I'll add you when I can, Ange. You'll probably recognize the name pretty easily.

I bought the Lv3 Fortress (O) and have a bonus structure. I fought someone with a Lv1 Fortress (D) and no bonus structure. +12 to all non-HP stats.

Last time I stopped playing because my emulator stopped working but I was also thinking of quitting at the same time. I'm sitting on a large stack of Orbs so I can always come back in the future. I just don't have any plans to do that right now.

I'm at that point, too. I've dropped to Tier 17 on Arena and got to a whopping GC Tier 7 last week. I haven't even bothered doing Arena Assault in over a month. I was sitting on a little over 100 Orbs, so I just did desperation full multi-pulls on the legendary banner to see if I got something to change my mind, and it took all but 7 of them to get a +HP/-Atk Cordelia, so that's probably the end for me.

If a planned playthrough is just to do all the story chapters (including paralogues and extra stuff) + maybe prepare for what I see Level 40 special maps and maybe Arena, roughly how many characters should I stick with to train to get to level 40 + 5 star?

Also according to FEHeroes wiki you don't need to be level 20 to upgrade stars with hero feathers:

There's really no "set" amount of characters to train up, and it largely depends on the player's needs/whims. For now, try to have a balanced team of 4. One red/blue/green. Colorless isn't strictly necessary, but can be helpful(again depending on your team).

You can upgrade a character whenever you want. They'll have the exact same stats in the end regardless if you upgrade them at level 1 or level 40. However, leveling gives that unit sp so going 1 > 40 (4*) and then upgrading them to go 1 > 40(5*) again gives you more sp then just upgrading them and leveling.

Of course grinding sp is far less of a hassle these days then it was at launch, you can just go to the daily training maps. You can probably afford to upgrade right away, or at 20 if you want sp for a skill first.

By playing and summoning, you will eventually reach a decent number of 5 stars for almost all weapon types, so I wouldn't worry about it too much for now. I would start by having a good red/blue/green unit + dancer (ideally make one of the colored guys a mage), it's the most flexible early comp IMO.

You can rank up characters at level 1 and you should be fine, however be mindful that some characters require hefty amounts of SP to unlock their skills (especially inherited skills) and a huge amount of it comes from levelling (especially in weekends), so as an early player who doesn't have access to a lot of blessings and valor skills you might want to consider levelling them up to 40 before promoting. It's not a big deal as you can farm SP after level 40 in training maps, it's just that you might unlock some skills at a slower pace.

Beat Infernal Hrid. Actually used a different strategy for once. Ran Serra/Tharja/PegaNinian/Siegbert and basically just buffed Tharja out the ass and had her run around killing everything, having Serra kill what she couldn't (Hrid and that Manakete)

Had to put Swordbreaker 1 on Siegbert so he could tank a round from Hrid as I killed the annoying gravity cleric round 1 (probably saves the most headache if you can do this) rip 3* Sully fodder. Once I did that it all clicked pretty well.

I was able to do Infernal Hrid with my typical flier squad of Myrrh, NY Camilla, NY Azura, and Summer Corrin. The only unit I killed on the first turn was the green cavalry mage. Things were easier after I decided it is not worth killing the armor unit on the first turn.

Got a -Atk +HP Nina to combo break at 8.5%. Somehow even worse than my -Res +HP Nina and Nina doesn't have a lot of good skill inheritance options either. Ugh. Done with this banner for now.

I just did this. If you do it with the 4 5 stars the game gave you, you can breeze through the game on hard without much trouble

It's not as simple as "Time Zones." If there was one consistent deadline (like every other mobile game I play) it would be easy to track
