I noticed I had an empty prediction for the Auron/Geralt match on the Oracle website and figured out that I made a mistake in the Round 4 topic and put an "&" instead of a "%".

That basically confirms the November 26th return of the contest, since contest matches have traditionally started one hour after the close of bracket entries for past contests.

I kind of think matches in the legends bracket should be worth like... 25%-40% more.

Oracle gets(a little) boring at the end because the matches aren't worth enough.

Maybe something to consider for next contest(if there is one)

There used to be some kind of bonus, actually, for the Top 5 picks of every match in previous Oracles. I never understood exactly how it worked, but maybe that could be applied the next time there are matches that go beyond the final rounds.

I think that's the one time I just ignored completely how things were supposed to be and just went with gut feeling. Despite how I thought Sephiroth was stronger, I just couldn't completely believe the fanbase preferring him to Tifa any longer. Seph was the clear safe pick, but Tifa felt right and I felt like I could risk taking the upset here.

Just a heads up that in a few days conditional picks will be accepted for Battle 145 and 146 (and later on 149 and 150). The reason for this is the characters for these matches will not be decided until just before the battles start.

When making a conditional prediction, you just need to make it clear what you are trying to do. You don't need to follow this format exactly.

If Crono wins Battle 143:
Cloud - 57.00%
If Pikachu wins Battle 143:
Cloud - 55.00%

If Snake wins Battle 144:
Zelda - 51.00%
If Samus wins Battle 144:
Samus - 54.00%

If you don't put a condition on your prediction, it will be used regardless of which character wins the previous match.

So, does everyone else taking Mega Man over Pikachu have a good reason for doing so, or is everyone like me and doing it even though there's no real reason to expect a different outcome?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm rooting for Pikachu even though I fear a fueled Mega Man revenge.

I'm personally of the opinion that Mega Man is the more beloved character, and in a match as close as their first fight, bracket votes (or anything else, really) could fairly have given Pikachu the win.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get the same result but couple of different reasons for me

I think Crono/Bowser fans are more likely to favor Mega Man than Link/Ganon fans and you are forced to vote in both matches. I don't have a particular reason for thinking that, just a gut feeling.

I think people are people are more apathetic in the losers bracket and I would think that Pikachu would gain more of that casual/apathy vote that is lost.

In a close match, especially one repeated so soon afterwards I get the feeling that the result will either swing the other way or no longer be close. Pikachu likely got the underdog/momentum vote first time around and is less likely to get it the second time around after already beating Mega Man once.

People are probably less likely to rally in a losers bracket rematch (or the original losing side is more likely to rally) which probably favors Mega Man. Hey rally this person to victory over the same person they just beat last week doesn't quite have the same luster to it.

And basically only 1-2 of the above have to be right for the result to swing

Oh and final thing is the pic could swing it but admittedly I can't even remember the original pic to know if Pikachu had an advantage. Nor have I looked at the pic for the upcoming match

Oracle standings update will likely bit a bit delayed today.

Pikachu got a rally in the first match, so I picked Mega Man thinking the rally wouldn't show up a second time.

I picked Mega Man because it was really close and Pikachu only barely won with the help of registered user bonus in a match with low votals. The votals had fallen a bit due to the break and I expected them to be higher again in the rematch, which would mean more anonymous votes, which would help Mega Man.

I just figured there would be enough people who would vote the other way just to see the result flip.
