The waste of money isn't nearly as important as the wasted experience by not fusing, especially with the huge exp investment of a 7*

Basically, if you fuse them individually, and fuse the high level cactuar into a Lv. 1 cactuar, you have the potential to reap a tremendous amount of experience. I got a x2 bonus fusing a cactuar in the high 20's into a Lv. 1 cactuar, and it brought it up 10+ levels in a single fusion.That is an enormous gain that would take several runs of Cactuar Dunes to get an equivalent amount of experience. Long-run it saves both time and NRG for a bit of short-term pain anytime Dunes or a raid comes around that rains cactuars on us.

there is one very notable other benefit: Great/Amazing Success chances.

take the current raid: you've got 5 meltaltaurs and a bunch of the usual 3* ones. take all those, put them into one metal.

take that one metal and put it into a LV1 metal.
take thatmetal and put it into another LV1 metal.

it being cheaper isn't the big perk, it's the fact that any increase of EXP is an increase on the collective unit you've made and it can make a huge dent.

7 star Squall and Rinoa are lackluster at most in the JP meta but I mean with GL exclusive buffs the may be serviceable. Enough to warrant pulling like a madman? Hell no. You gotta keep your eye on the horizon. FFBE is real good about giving you what you think you want and then the next week or so after you go for broke they give you want you actually NEED.

Also I believe Hyoh dropped I think 5 or so weeks after 7 stars came out so use that timeline roughly to plan your hoarding. He also had a 25k step up just like Squall/Rinoa do.

unless they're changing it for the US, Hyou is an 11k step up like Raegan, not a guaranteed one.

technically there was a DQ event in between this time too, maybe we'll get 7* Dragonlord early! i have no idea what the fuck we'd get in that.

Boy, I really need to learn how to play this game. Got Marlboro down, but because I forgot how badly multi-hit LB's chain, I wound up mucking up the LB kill and the result was I got my turns skewed again. I got back on track, but the second attempt got borked as well because I didn't realize the LB was the problem (dammit Fina, why can't you chain nicely with others?!). So I finally killed them all on Turn 39, the third time Great Marlboro went down that battle.

Yeesh. This time should go better. At least I got the whip, so that'll help a fair bit.

Edit: Gaaaaah! I was one turn away from winning when the Barbs chained too much damage onto the smaller malboros. Threw things off and I died. And somehow, some way, Basch died when he had been surviving with several thousand HP before with no trouble whatsoever. Very confused.

Ah well. I can live without the whisper for now.

Nope, no I couldn't. Had to make one last go at it, and I got the LB kill. Glad I can put this trial behind me, although it was a lot of fun to figure out. I have no idea how people are willing to do this sort of thing blind.

Malboro is the hardest trial by far.

Its so annoying because you have to find a good team that can do reliable damage to kill the small ones withing 4 (3) turns and then have to have the patience to not go fast as hell and muck up your turns. I mean you can by all means go balls to the walls and kill the small ones every turn but if you end up screwing up then your turns are off and youre eating devours and snorts.

I'm going to save for the very, very slim chance that I get dupes of Squall or Rinoa tomorrow. I've got a 100% Moogle to blow on a TMR, and if I can get a couple of them I'll use it there. If I don't, then it'll likely go into SBDF since I'll get a ton of use out of that swimsuit. I may go ahead and do Orlandeau anyway, since I don't care much about getting his TMR bonus, but I'm in no rush.

Also, Cactuar Dunes and Gil Snappers this weekend. Definitely going to be spending a lot of NRG pots.

Huh. Well I can't read. That's awesome, less need to stockpile for weeks on end for an enhance bonus event.

So 7* Olive is terrifying. I'm getting 15-17 million damage from Immolating Shot, though I'm pretty sure the ones I'm borrowing have Machine Killers stacked to hell and back. Is it sad that I'm excited that Edgar is getting a couple of TMR moogles from the upcoming event, as I still don't have a Machine Killer of my own yet?

I have two of Dark Fina, Ramza, and Orlandeau, and if I decide to do the Rookie Quest, I can have two Lightnings. I have a Brave Suit, but I haven't awakened any of the abilities on any of these units from this batch.

I'm not sure if I should start dedicating resources, or just not worry about 7* yet.

Olive survives her nuke in a few ways. Apparently it's just current hp, so healing an injured one works, barriers work, and... This is probably a bug but evasion works.

I was wondering if there were any ways to get around that when I saw that the damage was being done to her instead of her just passing out. I'm suddenly reminded of D&D Rogues being able to avoid full damage of something like a Fireball spell with Evasion, even if they were in the middle of the blast.

I assume the evasion avoiding is a bug but the rest shouldn't be. But I'm fine if we go just as intended either way!

She now comes with 250% DH out if the box after enhancements and Sparky.

The TDH meta isn't what she's going for at all here. Just regular DH with 2k attack. I haven't gotten mine that far yet, best I've done is 1730, though I did roll Prishe recently so that'll be a jump eventually. Won't do it now since hey, more 7*.

In other news, I finally finished the last 10% of TMR farming my other 3 Noctii. I have 5 Rings of Lucii now, and my current TMR farming team is Noctis #6, 2x Desch, Marie, and Gladiolus. Manual TMR farming is tedious as hell.

Are the "locked?" Are they only the ones from this first batch?

I tried to convert my extra Orlandeau and realized I had to unlock him first. None of my other duplicate 5*s can be converted because they aren't part of the current 7* batch.
