And do you remember when I told you that Koyo is badass? Because of the way he came back in the movie and in Exodus. The cool thing is that in the times he came back he saved people from being assimilated. He saved people from suffering the same fate he did. Kinda makes me tear up at the thought. He's such a cool guy. Plus he has an awesome Fafner with awesome abilities now.

There's a reason I've been pushing Fafner all these years here. I just wish that other people here would give it a chance. It's underrated. I'm so glad XEBEC managed to make more Fafner but they probably deserve more fans.

I've watched the first season, haven't gotten around to the second one. Is it any good?

It starts really slow but gets progressively better, the first 3-5 eps are pretty much setup and world building for the season.

I think grown up Miwa looks pretty cute. Cute hair too. Also notice she's using a new Fafner based on her dad's one. Fafner Mark Eins Re:specter. She's also gonna use Mark Sein before Kazuki gets it back I guess.

Speaking of, this seems a lot of years after exodus, since Neo Soshi is grown up and they're back at the island? would that mean that a new tsubaki and seri will be back? poor seri :<

Also speaking of miwa, god damn that ending sequence made me sad... when yumiko and emery were saying good bye i was tearing... i knew something was wrong when yumiko came back but... god damn....

I wonder if mark sein and nicht will get a redesign in the new season, it would be kinda lame if they kept their forms while every other mech gets super powered and stuff, i mean sure those mechs are inherently stronger than any mech they develop since they seem to have the same evolution factor as the festums? but for example the diff between S1 Nicht and S2 is night and day, Sein not so much...

Oh yeah something i didn't quite get, when Kazuki came back to the island and used like the festum purifying power, he restored mimika, but did he also cure hers and everyone else's new assimilation thing?

Also fuck i just realized i learned most of the cast's names lmao, remember how many problems i had with the characters at first.

I'm not sure about if Kazuki cured the side effects. Man, it's so long ago I need to watch Exodus again lol.

Seri is best girl. Maya is second best. I'm sure Seri will be back with Orihime/her replacement when the island comes back on the surface.

Also I understand about Sein and Nicht. They've had the same designs for years, especially Sein since 2004, but I don't mind since they're so cool. Sein did get slightly redesigned for its CG model but it's still supposed to be the same design from the first season I guess. Do you remember how Sein first had a different design with the wire weapons on its back like wings and I think homing lasers? But then Kazuki got it to evolve into the unique form it has now. Nicht also started out with the same kind of design before evolving with its massive monster arms and shit lol.

It will be cool if Sein does evolve to another new form though. And I hope Kazuki will dual wield lugar lances again like he did in the first season. I was kinda annoyed how he kept only using one since the movie.

You have to let it go man. Canon made a heroic and selfless sacrifice. Even letting go of her chance of being with Kazuki.

As for Nicht, like I said Sein started out with the same design with the wire weapons and laser show. But both Sein and Nicht evolved into their unique forms. But Nicht actually RETAINED the wire weapons and lasers as you have seen.

May i mention how fucking ambiguous the whole soshi and kazuki thing was, all the way until the end where kazuki is talking to maya on the beach and soshi and akira were hiding behind the rock and akira was joking about soshi wanting to be there with maya instead of kazuki lol.

For the whole thing i totally expected them to go full gay for each other, didn't know all 3 were actually interested in maya lol

Yeah it's a funny cute thing about Fafner. The series makes it look like Kazuki and Soushi are gay for each other with some of their scenes but really they're not and Soushi and probably Kazuki too both like Maya. I'm all for Kazuki and Maya.

There was a funny part when Soushi gave Kazuki a haircut where it was all awkward and I think Kazuki even called Soushi weird or something lol. Man Soushi is such a lovable dork.

Kazuki has called Soshi weird at least 2 times, the first one was the hilarious scene of soshi showing kazuki how "normal" his room was, and then the haircut yeah.

I guess its more of a brotherly thing? but it was really super ambiguous, specially in the first season... the tl;dw i guess is everyone has the hots for Maya lmao

And yeah, I think Kazuki and Soushi have a brotherly relationship. They're really close and they clearly care about each other a lot.

Oh yeah I think the line was "Geez you're so awkward" when Kazuki called Soushi that in the haircut scene, and Kazuki was smiling as he said it I think. Man I really need to watch Exodus again. All these feel moments.

So... seriously though, what would the next season be about? the new mir that landed in the island? i guess they're waiting for miwa to grow so she can communicate with it, also is kenji's and sakura's kid gonna have the same powers and miwa? or any other child born on the island for that matter?

Actually, will any of the people who where sick and would probably die off the island just die now that they had to move to the new island? didn't the old island mir kept them alive? unless the new island's mir also changed the environment for them?

Speaking about pairings, i really hope kazuki's dad and maya's mom end up together, they been teasing that since forever lol

I know, the manga is great but after reading it and seeing some eps it seemed like they put more "effort" in the anime with the animations and actual content, pretty sure it has more than the manga at least on the first few eps.

Fafner the Beyond should deal with that new Mir that Miwa will communicate with. She should be old enough now. The new island is keeping those guys alive I guess. Kenji has gotten fat LOL. His head is a rectangle now. By the way I think Fafner the Beyond might be a movie. Which will kinda suck since we'll have to wait longer.

Also don't forget about Jonathan and his Mark Raison in space. I'm sure he'll come back too. Hopefully he'll be saved and join the good guys.
