The 1000 dollar question was way more difficult than I ever would have expected a manga question to be in Jeopardy

Probably harder than any gaming question I've ever seen on Jeopardy - I pretty much know that's going to be a clean sweep every time I see it

I love how they threw the $1000 one in there just to embarrass anime nerds who would be feeling super egotistical about nailing all the easy ones

I really love all the replies to the tweet being like "I got four out of five!" yeah no shit you did

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I was impressed with Trebek's pronunciation there on that last one and the fact that they pronounced "manga" correctly

Trebek's always a pronunciation nerd. He's always really precise about it whatever language it is

Also, I'm surprised that one of them actually knew that, considering it's definitely not common knowledge among a generally Japan-media-centric audience

Since it's the Jeopardy round, I think they give you a chance to rephrase as a question. I think not dropping the second half make it incorrect, though.

For whatever reason I answered the English name "Attack on Titan" without thinking but almost said "Tetsuwan Atom" before correcting myself and saying Astro Boy. Don't know why.

Why is everyone using spoilers for this topic. And yea I bet it would be incorrect if you said Shingeki no Kyojin

There's a decent chance that either they already have that written down as an acceptable alternative answer (many questions do have them), or Trebek would initially rule it wrong because he doesn't know but they would double-check the answer and award him the points after the commercial break (they double check pretty much every incorrect answer).

Unless the word 'titan' was needed for the correct answer, but I'm not sure about that one.

Didn't get Astroboy or Speed Racer. Got Sailor Moon and Attack on Titan. Think I could maybe have gotten speed racer because I remember the movie.
Probably would have been 0 if I hadn't been on b8 for so long
