I wasn't aware that there was more than one Unlimited Blade Works, and for some reason the product page doesn't have any information like the run time, so I may have been screwed over.

Ouch... is this the part where I tell you that if your gonna go the anime-only route for Fate that it's a good idea (imo) to watch Zero before UBW because it adds a lot to the experience? (that and Zero is flipping great anyway)

Man, there really are a lot of trashy isekai manga out there now.

It's almost to the point where you just see the word isekai in the title, and you can immediately tell "oh it has an overpowered MC with a cheat ability," "yup, there's him steamrolling through the kingdom that summoned him", "oh and of course there's the obligatory slave girl harem." "oh and of course they're so in love with the MC that they're literally throwing themselves on top of him." (Seriously though, what's with Japan and slave girls?)

It really makes me appreciate the really standout ones like the non-combat isekai, like "pharmacy isekai" "farmer isekai", "pest-control isekai", "forced to become king isekai" and especially ones that subvert tropes like Shield Hero, Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic, and Mushoku Tensei.

I was prompted to rant about this because the two new chapters from Mushoku Tensei were so heavy with intense emotional drama, deep insights into the characters personality and development, some excellent subversion of expectations and tropes, and overall just some damn good writing.

Why can't all isekai's be like this?

Though I say that, I will still continue to read every new isekai manga, just on the off chance that they might be a new hidden gem. :P

Yeah, the only isekai that I really like are Konosuba and Mushoku Tensei. I need to catch up on Mushoku though, I think I left off right after Rudy and the bodyguard got transported to demon territory or something; I don't remember too well.

I went to Pax unplugged for saturday and sunday, and I didn't have any time to watch Houseki no kuni until today. By the way, 4th or 5th time saying this, I love the show. I haven't been this hyped for a seasonal anime since Jojo.

Shonen Jump will probably drop him and if he can't draw while in prison he will probably start self publishing after? I doubt a lot of invested fans would stop reading it. And if it stays profitable he must get picked up by some company.

Has anyone read Wolf and Parchment? It's the next light novel from author of Spice and Wolf.

And I saw a Gun Gale Online alternative manga that follows a girl that creates a chibi-ish character and is trying to make friends. I flipped through it and it seemed genuine and neat. I like the idea of exploring other characters in these games besides Kirito.

Fair warning though, it's about the daily life of a widower and his daughter (and his brother moving in to help with the chores), so expect some chapters with heavy emotional scenes depicting them coping with their loss, in equal parts with adorable and hilarious moments with the daughter.

I don't really care for streaming, but I do hate having to wait to watch things.

I started Eyeshield 21. I'm a football fan, but have held off on this in case it was done in a way that would annoy me. I'm not very far and there's been one small peculiarity, but it was a small thing, so not a big deal.

Welp, it's finally ended.

I think all of us here has experienced that bittersweet feeling when you finally finish reading/watching an amazing series you've invested so much of your life and time into.

You know that feeling? That feeling that you know you'll never read something like it anywhere else again. That feeling that your journey in seeing your beloved characters grow, and seeing yourself growing with them over the years, is finally ending. That feeling that, although you feel sadness that its finally ending, you feel grateful and genuinely happy that you've gotten to experience and share just a small part of these characters amazing lives, and through them, made YOUR OWN life just a tiny bit better.

I don't think I can ever truly articulate how much Jitsu wa Watashi wa has affected my life over the years.

All I can say is, thank you, Eiji Masuda, for bringing such joy and genuine happiness into my life.

Stuff like this does kind of make me wish I had a series I'd stuck to for a long time. I suppose I have a similar feeling with game series but that's not really focused on a story element so you don't have the same growth of characters as you what you were talking about.

Not since kissanime set itself up. Pretty sure if I did pay for a streaming service I'd still probably watch it on kissanime anyway since it's format is better and having everything in one place is vastly more convenient. It's a real shame licensing issues and exclusive licenses are a thing.

Which goes to show, piracy is a service issue.

Kissanime's media player is top notch. Nothing else compares. If only the bit rate was a bit better, then I'd be as happy as i can be. Ublock origin fixes the ad issue.

Bleach is ok till like episode 17 (or whenever the first real arc starts), then AWESOME for the soul society arc and then trash forever after that. All IMO of course but it's a pretty common opinion. The show really should have ended after that arc cause they had done all they really could with things and animation wise had already reached the biggest explosions and faster then eyes can follow speed so where can you really go from there? Yeah I just finished episode 67 and it has gone down hill fast. The new villians are stupid, annoying, and just are unenjoyable to watch. Also the main characters feel dumb. Like trying to find the imposter why didn't they just use the substitute soul reaper charm on everyone until the mod soul was coughed up just like they did in the last episode? Why didn't they just use their powers to prove it is them. Honestly this might of been tolerable if ryukia was with them but no. Idk if I even want to continue watching it because the new villans are just so terrible. Also please don't spoil anything past episode 67 please. Cause idk if in the spoiler tag if it is pre or post episode 67

The tracking for it is pretty messy.

Fall television anime usually premiere around early October, and winter anime usually premiere the following year. If Violet Evergarden is a standard television anime series, an advanced screening on October 21 would imply a 2018 premiere. This advanced screening is not on tv and not available anywhere.

Yeah last season initially had magus bride and violet evergarden listed as airing that season when neither really did. The both had some advanced screenings or something and MAL is all confused about where to put em. Seems they moved magus bride to this season since it's airing now but who knows when violet evergarden will be placed.

She definitely has a unique charm that sets her apart from the rest of the traditionally cute anime/manga girls.

I think it's mainly because of DAT HAIR!

The artist really knows how to make the hair seem straight from the 80s yet somehow fit in with the modern art style mangas have now.

The latest promised neverland wew! I have several thoughts and one major question.

im assuming the poachers he mentioned are not the demons running grace field because it would not make sense that they would dump Emma at Goldy Pond. Since she's really smart and supposed to be a meal for their god creature or some such.

I thought the kid in the shadows was Norman until they revealed him.

Makes sense why the older guy was bringing them there.

Now the question! Why was Minerva's note leading them to Goldy Pond if it's what we just found it out to be. Is there a secret hidden there (probably)? Is "Minerva" fake and a secret plot to "poach" escaped children for the upper echelon of the demons? Who wrote "Check your pen" on Emma's hand?

I was under the impression that the voice saying don't go to Goldy Pond (last chapter) was not the older guys since there was no indicator in the voice bubble pointing to him. But who would have said it? Not the poachers. I guess it was him but idk seems odd

Hey look, it's saturday. Time to watch Houseki no kuni and then gush about how much I love about it here. Apparently in Japan, it's the second most popular/successful anime this season by far after the juggernaut known as love live sunshine. The show started at a 6.9 rating on MAL and is now a 7.6, if you value MAL statistics. It's a travesty that it doesn't have the popularity even close to the other show's this season, but thankfully, there's a ridiculous amount of fan art for the show given how much of a following there is in Japan. It's definitely well made and great looking, but nothing out of the ordinary has happened in it yet. I do like the characters though. Haven't hit an ero scene or ending yet.

I finally managed to buy all of the Gun Blaze West manga. Got all three novels from a game seller I go to. $5 a piece. I'm pretty pleased. Only problem now is that, because Nobuhiro Watsuki was arrested, it makes me seems like a creep.
