So I started reading a manga called Slow Motion wo Mou Ichido.

It's basically, japanese 80's nostalgia - the manga.

The story centers around a popular guy in high school who has a secret love for old 80's songs and idols, and a girl who he discovers shares the same hobby.

It's a pretty comfy and sweet romance so far, though I'm still on chapter 14, and it's tagged as drama so I'm expecting something major to happen soon.

The main thing I want to note is that, it sorta introduced me to a lot of old japanese songs.

I haven't started that manga just yet but I plan to. I did check out those videos though. My favorite was the first one; that whole thing was fire, from the bass line to the totally 80's hair (reminded me of Masakazu Katsura's heroines).

That cello rock video was crazy too.

Speaking of playing things, I finished Starless. >_> Got 8/10 of the endings on my own and used a flow chart to get the last two. The very last ending I got was the only good ending and even then, it's not really a super happy ending. It's messed up like Euphoria though, just a little warning. I kinda feel like they wanted to do more with it, but didn't for whatever reason. I was hoping for more Marisa stuff.

I mean, yeah, sure it's great to finally have some closure on what happened in Negima.

But I'm still salty about the fact that it wasn't there in the first place. Like, seriously, one of the most disappointing endings I've ever read.

Also, there's the fact that it doesn't really matter since it technically happened in an alternate timeline from the one in UQ holder. And I remember reading something that the author considers the UQ holder timeline, the canon timeline, so yeah... it's basically one giant fanservice/fanfiction thing.

I'm usually salty about how mangas and anime end cause they hardly ever end in a good way. I don't remember not liking the Negima ending though. But I don't recall it being good.

Wouldn't the ending being and alternate timeline since then things can work out better than what the ending was?

I can understand how that could be upsetting, but I love UQ Holder and Negima too much to let that upset me XD

To be fair, the mangaka did take the time to make short end panels for each character in the epilogue, so there were some loose ends tied up at elast.

But it really was just a rushjob of an ending. The manga had been building up for this climactic fight between Nagi and Negi for literally years, and then it suddenly cuts it off and shows everything all fine and normal, without so much as an acknowledgement of what happened.

Bah, it's useless to get into this now anyways. What matters now is that Negima fans finally got the ending they always wanted.

Speaking of endings though, Jitsu wa Watashi wa is ending in 2 chapters!

And really, it so refreshing and rare to see a manga end on its own terms. No axe, or rushed ending, no sudden asspull or plot twist (I love Emilia anyone?), just a very satisfying victory lap showcasing the wonderful moments the readers have had with the series, and highlighting all the ways the characters have grown over the years.

It really is a different experience when reading a good manga you know is going to end. You want to see the payoff for all the time and emotions you've invested in the characters and their world; yet at the same time, you just want the manga to last for just a few more chapters, because you have invested so much of yourself in the story that it's hard to let go.

Dude, it's probably a good thing you're reading One Piece, then, because that's a lot of heavy-hitting titles. You need something a little lighter to break that stuff up once in a while (IMO).

Tell me about it. First manga I read was berserk (waiting on new chapters. Reee he is dragging this dream world on forever. However next chapter should get crazy) then kingdom, then Vinland Saga. And Vagabond which I didn't add to the list because probably not gonna be a new chapter (2+ year hiatus).

One Piece is wonderful. When I didn't read manga I thought One Piece was silly and something I wouldn't like because of the animation style (I knew nothing.) I was wrong. Favorite big shonen for sure.

I did read the konasuba manga too but that's really short. But yeah the manga I consume definitely massively weighs towards the heavy hitters.

I watched Baoh, a late 80's OVA. It's basically proto-jojo. It was Araki's first work ever. You can see a hell lot of obvious influence from it affecting Jojo pt 2 and a bit of pt 3, which is the most interesting thing about it. Aside from that, it's got hallmark late 80's edge/gore/violence, and a very simple story if at that. Highly recommend to any diehard Jojo fan.

Some of the influences being main guy was a lot like a pillar man from pt 2, guy looks like star platinum from pt 3, dogs, masks, the constant use of explaining a thing, and then doing it. (unintentionally hilarious in Baoh, which seems certain to imply that Araki saw that in hindsight, and made sure that when it used it in Jojo, it was clearly tactless and over-the-top). I'm sure there's more.

(needless to say OP is one of my favourite series ever)

Anyway, I haven't posted in a long while, I finally decided to sit- no suffer- through Dragon ball super, I'm almost caught up with the new episodes (on 103 right now) and my god has it got reaaaaaaaaal bad, the earlier episodes were decent but the whole "tournament of power" arc is utter bollocks, the intro of finally adding female saiyans into the series SHOULD have been cool but no, both Caulifla and Kale are terribly written and get the most ass-pulled power-ups I've seen since end-game Shippuden

Not cool at all, these problems added to some low-quality animation and bad fight scenes don't make things better either, I'll continue watching with low hopes

And yes Zoro is legit but Luffy is actually my favorite from strawhat crew. Zoro second. Have they started the running gag of him always getting lost? I love that haha

Ohhhhh in that case give baccano a shot and watch the dub. Plot is very important in that and is revealed in a unique way

K-On and Season 2 since I love that series!

Pure comedy?
Yuru Yuri II (I'm not sure if II just means second season but if it's the Yuru Yuri I watched then I suggest it cause it was hilarious!!!)

Something funny but also has goodness in it?
GTO yo! One of my top anime! And also one of the first anime I bought the whole season of on DVD. One DVD at a time...

Nana is supposed to be good, but I never watched it and I know the mangaka got sick or something and was never able to continue the story. But if you ever watched Paradise Kiss, it's the same mangaka so you may like Nana.

Yuru Yuri is totally plot driven. Really though baccano and ergo proxy of that list have strong plots (although some people do not like ergo proxy, plot is definitely a driving factor).

I'd recommend at least half that list and probably some more depending on your tastes and me refreshing my memory for a few of them.

Manabi Straight is pretty cool, but there are probably better slice of life to see. And for some reason they went way heavy on the loli designs; for several episodes I thought the characters were in grade school.

GTO is fantastic and definitely worth watching. And you have to see Redline; you just have to.

Well, sorry to disappoint you guys, I picked No game no life. I'm feeling for something short I guess. Based on one episode, I really like how vibrant and saturated the colors/aesthetic are. Visually, it feels like an acid trip. I can't think of another show that dumps that much color on you.

I finished Irregular at magic high school like last week, and now I'm going from OP protagonist to OP protagonist. Oh well.

About the other anime you guys mentioned:

Baccano, I heard runs a bunch of concurrent plots/characters that coalesce at some point, I'm not feeling for an anime to think hard on.

Ergo Proxy, I think I would have watched if I didn't pick something already. I know it's sci-fi heavy, and has Paranoid Android for its ED; OK Computer is one of my favorite albums.

GTO, I'm in limbo after watching like 3/4ths of it. It was a lot more enjoyable at the start than where I am now, I still want to finish it though.

Yuru Yuri, I enjoyed the first season, and will get around to it when I'm feeling it.

K-On and Manabi Straight, for some sweet SoL, when I'm feeling it. A shorter one or longer one to boot.

Yea, you get the point. Anything on the list is priority to watch, and I only disregard it for seasonal anime or a strong spur of the moment for something else.

The title basic translates to slow lesbians. I didn't really expect much more than bait honestly and was pleasantly surprised. Kyouko x Yui for me. I enjoyed the chinatsu x akarin scene though, that was hilarious and awesomely yuri. I hope we eventually get more.

Roughly translated, the tweet is saying that the next chapter of the One Punch Man manga, will have 125 PAGES

That's almost half an entire tankoubon's total pages. In ONE CHAPTER. That's insane.

Especially considering the last chapter had 61 pages, and he did that one in 5 DAYS.

Of course, he might just end up using most of those pages to do his infamous keyframe style again.







And honestly I'd be okay with it.

The main concern I have is that he might go into a very long hiatus after this.
