My mom's name isn't very common (for women anyway), so I've never really had to worry about it.

I have never in my life called my parents by their names, so this wouldnt be a problem at all.

That being said, my moms name isnt super common, so the odds were very low.

To the people saying no, does this extend to the opposite gebder versions? Eg if your father is Andrew wpuld you date a girl named Andrea?

I don't know anyone under the age of about 60 with my mother's name, so I would say it is pretty unlikely. Not impossible though.

Parent's names don't bother me because as someone mentioned, I don't call my mother by her first name so it's not an association that is very strong in my mind. It's hard to imagine sexualizing anyone with either of my sister's names though.
