I do like how well they are splitting the screen time between the three tribes consistently this season. Also giving us a realistic target on each tribe every episode.

Holy crap, we're five episodes in and somehow Mike/Cole/Jessica have never outright lost a challenge. I know we've had strong showings in the past, but it's just not a group I'd expect to be so dominant (like how Cirie made the merge last season without ever losing immunity.)

An edit that makes sense and isn't surprising. I'm not saying I hate the unpredictability of the past two episodes...but sometimes you want something that's just calm and makes sense.

I really don't know how I feel about the season. I mean, on paper, it's great. The edit has been relatively even, there have been some surprising boots, and I can at least tolerate everyone in the cast outside of Ryan. But for whatever reason, it just doesn't feel like there's a real SPARK to it. I can't explain it. I think part of it is how Ryan (who I hate), and Joe (who I appreciate, but don't 100% like) are the only two consistently "big" characters at this point, and everyone else fades in and out of the edit as necessary.

Cole may or may not get a MedEvac. We'll see just how dehydrated he is. We've seen extremes like Swan in Samoa and BMC in Kaoh Rong, but also like Paul in MvX where it was easily recovered.

Can confirm I feel this way too.

Maybe it's just the hangover from Game Changers being such an up-and-down season, with high highs, almost all of which were early on, and really, really low lows.

Maybe it's just how good Australian Survivor was this year - that was a season that captivated me well more than this one had.

Or maybe it's just me having watched way too much Survivor this year. Game Changers, Australian Survivor, rewatches of Cook Islands, Fiji, China, Micronesia, and Cagayan.... it's my favorite show ever, but am I overkilling it?

You never can trust the weasel

I think he made some pretty big mistakes here.

1) keeping a weak member at challenges like Chrissy who literally lost them an immunity challenge when he's already a weak membber at challenges who literally lost them a reward challenge is pretty iffy. It's a good way to come straight back to tribal council.

2) He blindsided Ali so bad here. This is worse than Cole telling all of Jessicas secrets. He might have irreparably damaged a very strong relationship. He really could have just told her what he was intending to do. She wouldn't have antagonized Chrissy so much at tribal council if she knew Chrissy was staying. Weasel really hung Ali out to dry here.

3) Chrissy is honestly kind of erratic. Despite the idol play that made a bond, I don't think she's a great ally to take further into the game. Roark probably would be more reliable.

As much as I bash Ryan (because he's a shitty personality), I think he made the right call:

Ryan already proved he's weak at challenges. It's the Cirie strategy from Micronesia. If you lose immunity and the focus turns to "oh, we need to keep the tribe strong", then it could easily be Ryan on the chopping block (especially with how non-threatening JP is from a strategic standpoint). Keeping Chrissy around keeps another target in the game. PLUS, it's not like Ali or Roark were super useful in challenges themselves. They cost the tribe a lot of time during the balance beam portion of the challenge. So really, aside from Chrissy not tagging out during the ball maze, she's not THAT much worse than the other options.

Ryan has no idea what the idol situation is. I mean, granted, he maybe should've warned her in some capacity, but what if he warns her and that information gets back to Roark? Again, you can't be sure Roark DOESN'T have the idol.

Roark was absolutely the best option to take out, and given the pitch Roark was making to Ali, Ali was stupid for accepting it. After four tribal councils, the Healers had lost no one and Heroes/Hustlers each lost two. If you get rid of Chrissy and JP (Ali's plan), then you're putting yourselves at the Healers' mercy. Roark SAID she was close to a bunch of people on the Healers tribe and that she could pull them in with Ali as like, an extra number. That's BAD. Chrissy is someone Ryan has a close bond with, AND it's numerically advantageous to keep her around for now.

yeah I think Roark was pretty clearly the best option to take out. That being said she's my current pick for the Wentworth slot on the inevitable Second Chances 2 based on her performance at Tribal Council.

I agree it was the best option to take out Roark. Ali really wanted this to be Cagayan with her being Tasha and Ryan being Spencer? Really? It would amount to Joe purging a Healer every other round but the minority having zero chance to make the end.

I thought it was going to be Chrissy leaving because the edit was too obvious for a Roark boot. I loved Roark pre-game but her edit was awful. She could be a Wentworth, who was equally robbed by the edit but was awesome outside of it. She got to come back and slay everything, showing how awesome she is. Roark has Wentworth upside, but whoever ends up being Wentworth 2.0 will never be as good as the original.

Roark isn't coming back, though. Second Chance II won't be until season 39 or 41. They'd pick someone more recent since the casuals would have completely forgotten about Roark by then.

Also, I would argue that Ali, Jessica, and Chrissy have all been shown a large amount and would be considered big characters.

Btw, I love that moment where Chrissy told JP there was a women's alliance and he flipped his opinion immediately.

Roark is okay. She's no supermodel, but she's no toadfaced Ashley.

Weird opinion, I actually think Ali is the hottest girl this season, then Jessica.

I'm not saying I really want Roark to return but I think that Tribal Council made her meet the minimum memorability requirement and I think she'll be active/popular in the Survivor community post-season given her ATF connection like Kelley was. That being said I think we still have 3 more seasons til Second Chances 2 so who knows who'll come along to fill the same role.

Also if Chrissy wins she will be the first person to be the oldest on the season to win. Not Bob, not Denise, not Tom, but Chrissy, who still looks pretty damn good

Fine then I will take it even shallower and say that Kelley was flat out more attractive than Roark. Which was the original point but i didnt want to be crude. Though to be fair without looking at bios I really did think Roark was older.

It was always a "wtf, Tara is 32 instead of 42 or something?" situation because it seemed so out of place. Then again, Locky and Henry were younger than I thought too, so hell if I know. People's ages on Survivor is sometimes the most bizarre thing, on it's own. Lol, I guess "age blindside" is a thing now.
