I'll get to the final three episodes of Australian Survivor when I get to them. Only have time to watch one tonight and I know I will. Didn't have time last night since, as has happened before, an RHAP LFC surprise came up. There went two hours, xD

That only takes priority because I like having the chat for those. The chat goes away. Availability for #SurvivorAU does not. So I'll get one down tonight and watch the finale + reunion (and comment on them) at a later time, once I've watched HHH and written my blog. Even though, honestly, I've been enjoying the Australian variety more than HHH. I don't want to see it end. Any word at the finale regarding another season next year?

Yeah I dunno. It's not on the website and Rob hasn't said anything on twitter. Wonder if he started uploading and messed something up? I assume the feed for the first season won't be the same as for S2, so I probably shouldn't have gotten those two episodes.

My Big Brother 2 ReWatch:


I am 11 episodes in and I know Will Kirby wins but what I am having a completely hard time figuring out HOW and I guess I am going to have to wait in see. I just don't understand how they thought the "Chilltown" alliance was going to win this game, and I guess they do technically. ChillTown just does the things you aren't supposed to do from what I have seen from Modern Big Brother.

Also, without a Veto Comp these episodes could probably be cut in half. There is not a lot going on in 2 of the 4 episodes in the big brother week. It's hasn't been great but I am passed a third of the way.

Make the target big enough and eventually it disappears

Nothing formal, a few people did mention people auditioning if they were interested. The channel it is shown on here (10) was in financial difficulty and got bought out by CBS a few months back though. It has rated pretty well and had a lot of positive feedback, so all that seems to suggest it will likely be back.

I would think so. CBS wouldn't let one of its flagships die in Australia, either, would they? Now that they own Network Ten, I would expect them to make sure it never got canceled.

Australian Survivor Episode 25
I am amazed that Tara had the balls to do that. It was a great move for her, because if it ended up going for an hour-plus like it's known to do, it could give her a chance at the end. However, given the result, she's probably not going to win the game. All she needs to do is throw the Final Immunity and hope Pete wins it and takes her. She has a better shot against him and not being the one to vote out Jericho would get her a free jury vote.

Yeah, Michelle blew it when she pitched a conniption when Jericho said he was getting paranoid that she was scheming against him. She got way too defensive, which tipped him off and thus doomed her. Jericho never told her who she could and couldn't talk to - just that she should include him if she wanted to retain his trust. Had she listened, she would not have suffered this fate. Alternatively, she also could have, you know, learned to make fire. Guess she didn't want to break a nail (like she said she'd be like back home). Overall, Michelle was a fantastic character and a solid player to boot, even if she is a bit of a spoiled brat.

If Jericho doesn't win this, I will be shocked and disappointed. I find Pete boring and colorless and Tara to also be a spoiled brat. Neither would satisfy me as a winner - either would put this season outside of my top 10 (akin to Amazon, which is phenomenal aside from its atrocious Final 2). Right now, my only knock against it is the vote-out-a-juror twist, so I hope it stays that way!

...I'll watch at least part of the finale now. Have more time than I thought I might!

Australian Survivor Finale
Thoughts as I go!

Yeah, so glad they're doing the same Final Immunity Challenge as last year. It worked so brilliantly, so why the hell wouldn't they? It going into the night makes it even cooler. Could be they didn't want to have to scramble the final three to Tribal the same night when they're all in pain. Might also be because they don't want it to go 8 hours and would rather it be done after 6 >_>

A torch walk? They don't even film that anymore in the US version. Here, it's a brief recap with nothing that wasn't already in the show. (Aside from maybe AK? It was ONLY the swap that screwed him.

Tara is almost blowing her cover talking about horses. She can't think after almost three hours. It's only natural. It's also amazing that of the six people who have done this challenge in that very spot across two seasons (we're not counting the Dream Team, who didn't have money at stake), the worst time is two hours and fifty-five minutes. Take note, Probst: The US version needs this as a Final Immunity Challenge! Scrap a couple of the "balance the balls" challenges earlier in the merge for something different and end it with something high-stakes, all-in, and insane like this. Makes for compelling TV!

As expected, Jericho pulled it out. Would be SHOCKED if he did not win the $500,000. Crazy effort - he was in the zone. Barely moving, but subtly trolling when he did.

Jericho, you need to take Tara! You didn't get ANY votes cast against you until the FINAL FOUR. Tara was voted out pre-merge without the tribe knowing there was a twist. She is the ONLY person voted out with that circumstance, seeing as Anneliese right after was something that should have made the tribe suspicious. Jericho could easily say: "As far as I'm concerned, Tara didn't even make the merge. She was voted out long before. Are you going to give that much money to someone you beat?" and win over the entire jury that way.

Man, I am LOVING this catfight between Tara and Pete. This is BRILLIANT for Jericho because both of them are damning themselves. Suddenly, I think Jericho is voting Tara out and taking Pete with him. But he doesn't. Tara's the safer person to take with him... and thinking it out, I agree. See: Above. She made herself into a bigger threat, but Jericho has an argument that will instantly destroy Tara. If Tara wins, it would equate to Lill winning Pearl Islands, and would ultimately tarnish my feelings on the season as a whole.

(Quick aside: I love how Jarrad wore Tessa's hat. It was like she was there in spirit!)

I think Jericho 100% has votes from Luke, Sarah, Henry, and Michelle. I gotta wonder about Tara's allies in Anneliese, Locky, and Pete. Ziggy is a big question mark.

Tara's confessional about her arguments against Jericho show how absolutely stupid she is. "Jericho had it easy! He only had his name written down once. He never left Asaga, while I got voted out of Samatau..." are all reasons why he should BEAT YOU, moron! Jericho avoided being a target for 50 days while you got voted out. Jericho stayed in a good position through good gameplay. He had it easy because he made it easy.

Tara's opening speeche is LONG... yawn. I hate the "triumphant music." Jericho gets the "villain music" and the villain speech, despite have been the heroic underdog so far. He's screwing himself. He's burning them. Luke is gonna love it, but I don't know about the other two. Then he did it again.

Australian Survivor Finale - continued
Jericho is owning his game, but is going too far. Mostly softballs for the first three. Ziggy has a good question, but neither gave an answer about strategic play. Jarrad is a bitter jerk. Sarah is the opposite: Seeking revised testimony after contradicting evidence. She doesn't get it. Scrap that vote for Jericho. The rain machine goes on. Luke quarter-Murphys Jericho (only a QUARTER%!? Come on, Luke!). Tara flubs Pete's question (a FAILED move?). Henry OUTS Tara's job out of the gate! (HOW did he know?) Tara gives a HORRID answer to him, too. Classic final juror evisceration here. Jericho mentions the "Escape Goat" (Princess Victoria reference much!? Wow.), but delivers a FANTASTIC answer and owns it.

...Sarah voted for Tara!. Yup, Jericho really did burn her hard, with contradicting himself like that. Luke, as expected, LOVED Jericho's trolling. But his quarter-Murphy was nowhere near what it should have been. I think by showing a surprise Sarah vote for Tara... they want to mislead us to think Tara wins, even though she only played the game for six fucking days. She was a waste of space. Someone who got voted out pre-merge winning would destroy all this buildup. Jericho did not do as well as he should have. Should have brought up Tara being voted out in what was thought to be an elimination vote as a reason she did not deserve it.

Nice to see a big venue like this - sharp contrast to the Final Tribal Council last year, which felt so... bizarre. Jericho and Tara are almost unrecognizable. I really hope Jericho wins this. This "reunion" looks very, very abbreviated based on the very short amount of time left.

Jericho... Jericho... (this is bad given voting patterns)... Tara (Sarah's)... Tara... Tara... Jericho... Jericho... and the winner is... JERICHO! WHEW! I can breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to rank a winner below the likes of Michele, Jenna, and poor Bob Crowley, who has been in last for a long time.

Winner montage! Just like it should be. Beautiful.

Wikipedia says Tara's votes were from Pete, Sarah, and Locky (would have thought Locky'd vote Jericho). I'm still most curious about how the jury knew she was a barrel racer a la Fan Favorite Sierra Dawn Thomas (the only barrel racer they would know).

Tara shows she did not prepare for the game at all. Imagine if this lady won it all. Imagine if she got voted out and at Ponderosa had no idea who Sierra Dawn Thomas is - a name she absolutely SHOULD know to exemplify her job to jurors (especially since they started filming right after FFSDT got voted out of Game Changers).

A.K. getting a montage that indicates his return in an FvF or All-Stars. His strategy worked given how he turned the tables on a dire situation and managed to command the game to the point that it took a swap to get him out. I'd agree that it worked out for him.

Ring, I do think JLP has been a fantastic host. He's almost as good as Probst in a hosting capacity after only two seasons! And based on what you said, he's better at hosting a reunion than Probst since he gets to more players... but my video cut out when they went to commercial just there so... I'll have to find a way to watch the rest some other time. It's just after midnight where I am, so good night all!

He's just kinda generically in a leadership position without being especially interesting. Part of the problem is that, with Survivor being 35 seasons in, they love making any and all alpha males the focus of tribes because they're more likely to be in charge during the pre-merge "keep the tribe strong!" portion of the game. Ben is average and yet gets a bunch more screentime than his personality warrants. Same reason I hate Ryan. He's obnoxious and gets ALL the fucking strategic screentime on his tribe.

You didn't miss too much. It is probably available on the official site (tenplay.com.au/survivor), but I think from last year, that may not be available outside Australia.
