She's just one Tear, not many.

also her full name is Mystearica which is really cool and also totally Tales at the same time

NBIceman nominated her as "Tears Grant." Somehow while looking over her Wiki pages I noticed the Grants typo but not the Tear typo. And Mystearica seems like standard JRPG fare, yeah.

I'd be really surprised if I made that mistake, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Good ranking, though, I'll take 25.

Well, I know I transferred the names of the nominated waifus onto a notepad and then copy pasted them into a column in Excel. I never actually wrote down her name until I did her write-up today, so at no point could I have made a typo.

Anyway, TotA has been on my backlog for years. The only Tales game I've played is ToS.

I don't seriously hate when fantasy stuff throws weird terms at you unless it gets really obnoxious, and even then it's usually just funny.

I have the opposite opinion regarding technobabble. I prefer it when fantasy worlds employ proper world building and invent new terms as needed. Even if it gets a little crazy, I prefer having too much rather than too little.

It's been a long time since I played, but wasn't the religion in TotA not actually inherently "bad"? Like, Ion was your buddy and the precepts taught by the church were well and sound. I think it just had a handful of members who were cuckoo (which, to be fair, included the notPope)

Ehhh... I think it depends how you viewed The Score. Ion's faction was good for the most part, but they didn't seem to really have any power within the church and the way things were portrayed you got the feeling that Ion's attempt to reform things weren't gaining much traction, if any.

Origin: Persona
Nominator: profDEADPOOL (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 75
Personality: 65
Projected Wife Capacity: 73
Overall Score: 71

Tae is a doctor whose reputation was destroyed when a patient died for reasons beyond her control and had to open a back alley clinic. Now she spends her time refining a weird drug. Okay.

I dont normally like bobcuts, but in this case it works. The messy hair conveys that shes kind of a shut-in, and like all shut-ins, shes smoking hot and has excellent fashion sense.

Personality-wise, shes got a morbid sense of humor but is still friendly and sort of professional? I found conflicting information about how professional she acts as a doctor, but its at least clear that in her personal life, shes fun.

PWC-wise, well, shes a doctor.

Overall, Tae looks like an excellent waifu in every way but for the whole destroyed reputation aspect, which, honestly, is unlikely to apply outside of Japan anyway.

23. Naomi Turner
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/disney/images/e/e4/Naomi_promo.png/revision/latest?cb=20170128191544
Origin: Elena of Avalor
Nominator: RySenkari (0/4 Remaining) (ELIMINATED)
Looks: 68
Personality: 78
Projected Wife Capacity: 70
Overall Score: 72

Elena is an adventurer, member of the Grand Council in the Kingdom of Avalor, a commoner, and from a show I didnt know existed. Serious talk: I combined this show with Sofia the First in my mind (which I had to look up the name of) and just thought they were the same thing. Does Disney just have two shows about Hispanic princesses in magical kingdoms? Is there going to be a Hispanic Fairytale Princess Cinematic Universe ala Marvel and Star Wars? and is Naomi the token white person?

Looks-wise, tomboyish short hair, blond, blue-eyed, it all works for me. The animation style might hold her back a little, but Im confident that shed still be high up there. As an aside, I like how her clothing is clearly meant to be like a down-to-earth commoners, but its still really elaborate compared to anything real.

Personality-wise, Naomi is practical, more sensible than the people around her, determined, down-to-earth, and wants respect. All of these are perfectly good qualities.

PWC-wise, she serves on a big important council. Shes technically an adventurer, which Ive spoken out against before, but I suspect most of her adventures can be confined to 22 minute episodes and take place around where she lies.

Overall, a very good waifu choice. I definitely see the appeal.

Sofia's mother is from a kingdom based on Spain, so while Sofia IS technically Hispanic, she's not Latina. Elena is full-on Latina from a kingdom based on Latin America. And yeah, Naomi is sort of the token white person on the show XD

Well, we haven't actually seen Sofia's biological father (her mother remarried the king), but that's the assumption.

As for Naomi, fans like to ship her with the main character Elena even though there's very little chance of Disney actually letting it happen.

Well, there was the episode where Naomi was thought to be moving away, and when she tells Elena how much she's going to miss her in particular, Elena looks away and seems to blush. It's extremely subtle and might just be humility but it's easy to read into something like that.

22. Urbosa
http://www.startlr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/C6W-oTOWYAA1R-K-700x500.jpg
Origin: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Nominator: Murphiroth (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 62
Personality: 72
Projected Wife Capacity: 83
Overall Score: 72.3

Urbosa is the champion of the Gerudo in Breath of the Wild. Despite being like eight feet tall and a swordmaster, she was killed by the second easiest boss in the game before the game even started.

Looks-wise, Im not a huge fan of the Gerudo aesthetic, but for her it works pretty well. I like how she somehow wears high heels despite being from a desert, which is possibly the most high heels-unfriendly terrain in existence. The giant poofy ponytail works well enough. I also kind of like tall girls, though Urbosa is like twice Links height, so that might be too tall, Im not sure. I almost included a joke about her nose and saying Im allowed to make it because Im Jewish, but I figured it was safer not to.

Personality-wise, shes very strong and courageous, caring, and teasing. She was certainly the most interesting of Links companions in that game. Shes the only one Id like to see more of. Screw the Falco knockoff in particular.

PWC-wise, we actually get to see Gerudo training techniques for finding boyfriends in the game, which lets us know what kind of expectations and skills Urbosa has. I will admit, however, that when I made these rankings that I didnt take into account that the Gerudo live in a desert city and dont let in men. I was confused on that point, like, where do their husbands live? Because they explicitly have husbands, and theres no way they all live in that little merchant tent village nearby.

Overall, a solid waifu if you can get over her being twice your height.

21. Elle Woods
https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/characters/images/a/a7/ElleWoods.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160121043358
Origin: Legally Blond
Nominator: Raka_Putra (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 74
Personality: 64
Projected Wife Capacity: 79
Overall Score: 72.3

Legally Blond is a movie I saw one time when it came out. From what I remember, Elle is a girl who goes to law school to impress a boy, impresses a different boy, and solves the case at the end by illegally cross-examining a witness at a point in the trial when no lawyer would have been permitted to do so. Its also worth mentioning that I was prepared to search for more information about it because I figured there couldnt be a Legally Blond Wiki. Oh, how nave I was.

Looks-wise, Elle is just really pretty. She hits that kind of general just really hot area where theres nothing in particular that stands out but she still looks like a bombshell.

Elle is girly, sweet, energetic, ditzy, and a bit smart. More importantly, shes the archetypal Valley Girl. As a guy who lives in the valley for which Valley Girls got their name, I cant actually remember if she gets the accent right. Lots of stuff tries and fails, but I can confirm that Valley Girls are a real thing.

PWC-wise, Elles a lawyer, and apparently she scored a 179/180 on a difficult exam, so shes not dumb. Sounds good to me! Besides, were from the same place, so we can pass the time by complaining about the same substandard businesses.

Overall, I think Elle is probably the highest ranking normal person waifu on this list.

Origin: Tales of Xillia
Nominator: Sceptilesolar (0/5 Remaining) (ELIMINATED)
Looks: 74
Personality: 71
Projected Wife Capacity: 73
Overall Score: 72.7

Milla is not really the lord of spirits, which makes her able to control elemental magic, but leaves her with no useful knowledge on how human society functions.

Looks-wise, shes got the appropriate blond hair I like and apparently likes ridiculously short miniskirts. Works for me.

Personality-wise, Milla is constantly enthused by learning more about human society and behavior. With no real knowledge of how it works, shes interested in things like runny noses and ends up respecting humans. Sounds decent to me. What, you think I have a problem with any of that? I like explaining things.

PWC-wise, well, when I made this originally I didnt realize she becomes a god at the end of the game. I guess with that in mind, shed probably be a poor waifu since Im not also a god. So for purposes of this, lets assume that she either makes me a god too or that shes still able to hang out and play video games with me, which is obviously the real purpose of a waifu.

Overall, Milla seems like a really good version of the supernatural being learns what its like to be human trope, even though shes not quiiiiite an example of that. Oh, and a good waifu, too.

19. Anna
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/4/4b/Anna_fates_portrait.png/revision/latest?cb=20170120221806
Origin: Fire Emblem
Nominator: WhiteLens (1/4 Remaining)
Looks: 90 (Number 3)
Personality: 44
Projected Wife Capacity: 84
Overall Score: 72.7

Anna is a character who appears in almost every Fire Emblem game. Or at least she was, until they retconned them all to being identical sisters and cousins. God knows how that explains Annas recurring boyfriend from the first couple of games. In the first few games shes just like a girl, but in the later games shes a horribly greedy merchant.

Looks-wise, well, theres not much justification here. Shes just really good-looking. I like the thick ponytail look, I like the red hair, and she even manages to dress in a less ridiculous way than most Fire Emblem characters (heres Charlotte, a deadly warrior: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/0/0b/4Koma_Charlotte.png/revision/latest?cb=20160909124714). So yeah, Anna is masterfully designed.

Annas personality is where she suffers. Shes basically an insanely greedy woman who is motivated only by a lust for money. In Awakening, even if she falls in love with you and marries you in the game, she only says that she may one day love you more than money. In Fates, she just bluntly asks is it okay if I still love money a little more than you? So yeah, Annas personality issues reduce her from like top 5 to top 20.

PWC-wise, though, shes clearly hardworking and can hold down a job. What, shes also an adventurer for a few weeks because she owed you for rescuing her in the game? Whatever.

Overall, Anna is crazy hot and clearly good with all of the boring economics stuff a marriage involves, but that endless love for money, man. Its not perfect.

Origin: Steins;Gate
Nominator: resistance_pro (ELIMINATED)
Looks: 68
Personality: 81
Projected Wife Capacity: 70
Overall Score: 73

Like all real life scientists, Makise is a master of multiple subjects. In particular, shes an expert neuroscientist and time travel physicist. Her seeming death kicks off the plot of Steins;Gate.

Looks-wise, shes very pretty but not outstandingly so. You dont really get a brilliant scientist vibe from looking at her, but in terms of pure hotness, she gets the job done.

Personality-wise, shes sensible, mature, calm, practical, slightly timid, and hates being nicknamed. All of that sounds good to me, especially since I assume shes really smart since she apparently mastered time travel. Speaking of nicknames, as a kid my sister once got upset about everyone calling her Max instead of her full name even though wed been doing it for years, so to show me how annoying it was she started calling me Ad (for Adam) and I just laughed at her.

PWC-wise, the only flaw here is that she has a tendency to be murdered. Im not going to count that. Im just going to assume that if shes my waifu, itll be in the timeline where she isnt killed. Therefore she does pretty well here.

Overall? Makise seems like an excellent waifu whose actual job will be really hard for me to understand, since I know nothing about time travel or neuroscience.
