Lucina is a main character from Fire Emblem Awakening, and is largely responsible for Nintendo upping its waifu game in the last few years. Seriously, Nintendo spent about thirty years making the occasional waifu by accident, then FEA came around, and suddenly its every major game. They know exactly what theyre doing, too. Anyway, Lucina is a time traveling princess who has to change the past to stop a bad future, but she really does nothing useful toward that goal except give Robin information and save Chroms life one time. Otherwise shes just another unit with a bad personal weapon.

Looks-wise, Lucina is undeniably pretty. Long blue hair that frames her face nicely, a professional-looking, not-slutty-at-all outfit (which needs to be mentioned since shes from the same game as Tharja and Nowi), and just generally a good look to her. I am a little confused about her shoes, though. I dont understand what that thing halfway down her feet that pokes up is supposed to be.

Personality-wise, Lucina is kind of a wet blanket. I know shes supposed to be regal, loyal, determined, and all of that, but she really came off to me as just a person without any substantial unique qualities of her own. That could be a function of her intentionally aping Marth, who is the most generic lord in the series, but eh, shes just not for me in this regard. I know she has a few more unique lines that come up in some of her supports, like buying her mother an ugly dress, but theyre few and far between.

PWC-wise, shes a princess capable of adventure who doesnt go on adventures unless necessary, is prepared to travel through time to help you, and is super dedicated. I cant imagine any difficulties with her as a waifu.

Overall, I can see how someone might completely fall for Lucina, and I can see how she became as popular as she did, but I dont know if I can have a waifu whos this standard of a hero.

Jemma Simmons is the scientist in Team Coulson, part of SHIELD. So do you think Marvel realizes that real government organizations usually arent named after things? Like the NYPD isnt COP.

Looks-wise, this is a reasonably attractive woman. Shes not crazy beautiful or anything, but what she does have is a sexy accent. We havent really mentioned accents yet because very few waifus on the list had anything but American or Japanese accents, but Jemmas got an English one, and I like it. A few extra points for her because of it.

Personality-wise, Jemma is a science buff, calm, rational, optimistic, and forgiving of most offenses, and her biggest weakness is being bad at lying. The only problem here is that shes attracted to men who act heroically, and well, Im not crazy enough to believe thats me.

PWC-wise, Jemmas got a solid job, isnt a crazy adventurer who goes around the world, is a scientist, has a good personality, and I will be able to lord my sexy-accented waifu over my all of my friends whose girlfriends have normal boring Newscaster or Valley Girl accents.

Overall, Jemma seems like one of the saner waifu choices on this list. Maybe not the most rawly attractive waifu, but definitely one of the more normal people.

I personally enjoy it but it's definitely not for everyone. It's not as "kiddy" as a show like Sofia the First, it tries to be an action-type show for slightly older kids with a lot of Disney magic type stuff in it. Also there's a song in every single episode.

Also Aimee Carrero voices Elena and holy shit can she sing.

Hakaze is the leader of a clan tasked with protecting the Tree of Genesis, the source of magic used by her clan. Okay then. Secretly, she has super luck that ensures things always just work out for her, to the point of logic not really being that important to making sure her wishes come true.

Looks-wise, no way around it, shes very pretty. I like the red hair, I like the way she wears it, I like her generically pretty anime face, shes really well designed.

Personality-wise, shes direct, frank, kind of rude, but loyal to her word. She has a softer side as well, so I guess were looking at a tsundere situation.

Her PWC is what helps get her this high. Having vaguely defined super luck powers is greatly advantageous for obvious reasons, because I assume that if shes my waifu, those luck bonuses will transfer over at least a little to me.

Overall, shes pretty good.

The highest of the many iDOLM@STER waifus on the list, Takane is the half-European, half-Japanese (seriously, why are there so many of them in anime stuff?) idol whos implied to be super rich.

Takane benefits a lot from my ranking system of only using the hottest picture. Most of her pictures would have landed her at 60~, but it happens that I really like this ninja outfit and the way her hair is done up in a big ponytail like that. Ever wonder what real ninjas would have thought about how theyre remembered in these distinctive black outfits, when their entire gimmick was not being noticed?

Takane is smart, regal, polite, and slightly confused by the lives of normal people. Some of those create some kind of minor problem, but the benefits obviously outweigh the drawbacks.

As for her PWC, shes got a job, shes rich, shes good at most tasks she puts her mind to, yeah, I think there no problems here.

Overall, Takane seems like an extremely good waifu.

Aranea is a boss and party member in FFXV, which already puts her way above that one chick from FFXIII who was heavily advertised and did nothing the entire game. Shes captain of a military unit, and likes spears, which you probably got from her last name.

Looks-wise, shes hot. Shoulder-length silver-blond hair, nice face, silly armor, multiple belts, everything about her works exceptionally well. What prevents her from getting into that higher category of 80+ hotness is that she just doesnt quite have anything unique to her style beyond that armor.

Personality-wise, shes streetsmart, snarky, free-spirited, and flirty, and opposes using demons to slaughter innocent people, which I guess has to be specified as a positive trait in the FFXV universe.

PWC-wise, shes got all of that going on plus shes the leader of a hotshot mercenary company, which means job.

Overall, Id probably play FFXV if I had a PS4 or XBone. Im still a little salty over FFXIII, though. As I said before, its my biggest gaming disappointment.

Yakumo is the most popular student in her class, and she also has telepathy. According to TVTropes, she becomes attracted to a boy because he look sort of like her father from behind. That has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to mention it.

Looks-wise, Yakumo is as high as a waifu can go with that art style. Its not quite generic anime, but I dont know exactly what it is because I dont know much about animation. Either way, I like the hair style and bangs, and black hair is fine.

Personality-wise is where she kind of stumbles. Everything in her Wiki and TVTropes section constantly plays up that shes the definition of Yamato Nadeshiko, the ultimate caretaker and stuff. She does not have a personal agenda or goals and her sole desire is to serve her family. To be honest, I dont really like that? Id have knocked her lower than that but for the TVTropes page discusses how she actually can get angry. I said this way before, but Im not super into the Yamato Nadeshiko personality.

PWC-wise, though, I guess it goes without saying that that makes her pretty much as close to perfect as you can get. Kind of contradictory, I admit! The only problem seems to be that her telepathy makes her constantly aware of what youre thinking, which, Ill be honest, is going to be something of an issue.

Overall, I can see how Yakumo would be the perfect waifu for someone who likes her personality more than I do but I dont! So shes merely a very good waifu.

Yes, the pages mentioned that she's super defensive about her sister, which is good and helped her gain a few points. The chief problem is that I personally just am not crazy about this particular archetype, but I can see how someone who likes it more would love her.

Makoto is a straight-laced honor student, a Phantom Thief in Persona, the most balanced character in the game, and most impressive of all, has a Japanese name that Word doesnt mark with a red line.

Looks-wise, Makoto is perfectly serviceable. Theres not much to say, she looks a bit above average in overall waifu levels and about average in Persona levels, and shes got on what I assume to be a school uniform. Japan really likes those school uniforms. I had a friend in high school who attended Japanese high school for a year for whatever reason, I dont remember anymore, and she complained endlessly about the uniform skirt being too short during winter.

Personality-wise, shes a perfectionist, smart, strict, hardworking, and secretly compassionate and understanding. Her only major flaw is an inferiority complex about her sister, who at one point calls her a burden. Wow, what a dick move.

PWC-wise, her hobbies are: housework, aikido, reading sci-fi, and touring stuff. All of this sounds great to me except maybe aikido, and hey, whatever. Apparently she likes to eat thirty different kinds of food per day? I dont know whats up with that. Eventually she decides to become a cop, which sounds fine to me.

Overall, this looks like an A+ waifu.

She also has clothing that also looks like something almost real, which is a benefit, as opposed to someone like Vincent Valentine. Im not a huge fan of popped collars, but I can overlook one. I remember once seeing a picture of a guy wearing like ten shirts so he could pop all of their collars and man I just knew I would hate him in real life.

Personality-wise, shes seemingly serious and cold, but its not hard to bring out a softer and more compassionate side, and is modest about her appearance, which is supposed to be breathtaking in the world of Tales of the Abyss. All of this sounds fine to me.

PWC-wise, shes willing to stand up for her beliefs, isnt afraid of doing difficult things, and seems to have no major problems other than that shes part of a crazy religion. I didnt even read about the Order of Lorelei in the Wiki, just knowing that its an organized religion in a JRPG. Serious talk, though, are there any examples of big fancy religions with cathedrals and knights in a JRPG that arent evil?

Overall, Tears seems like an excellent waifu, and I can see why someone would nominated only her and not her and four others.
