Makoto is just another random character from BlazBlue. In fairness, fighting games are the one genre where you basically need a million plot irrelevant characters, so I dont mind. Just look at Tekken. Everyone except the Mishimas is pointless, and even some of them are kind of pointless. Oh, also Makoto is a squirrel girl or something. Ill be honest, I played exactly one BlazBlue game and all I remember is a lot of terrible fourth wall breaking humor, a completely incomprehensible story about someone with green hair trying to trap computer people in a time loop in another dimension, and people online spamming the blond guys ranged ice attack.

Looks-wise, shes a cute girl with a giant squirrel tail and ears. Im less into the squirrel aspects and more into the cute girl aspects, but eh, theyre not the worst thing ever. I wonder how she sits in chairs, though. Actually, wait, is that a miniskirt so short that its held in place with straps? How does her gigantic tail fit through the skirt? And is she showing forty percent underboob? This is less impractical than the mummy girl with the giant circle over her boobs, but this is top three impractical outfits for sure.

Personality-wise, shes silly, whimsical, and scatter-brained. Super loyal to her friends, kind of flirty, friendly, and so on. Pretty standard stuff for anime-inspired stuff, actually. All of it works and is good. Apparently she has a bad ending where shes turned into a doll and tortured for eternity, which sucks.

PWC-wise, shes got a job (despite being a teenager? I read the Wiki and Im still unclear how old she is) and shes clearly dedicated to everything she does. I see no likely problems here besides that her job involves nearly constant risk, but shes also not exceptional in any way.

Overall, Im not sure if she does better than the actual Squirrel Girl. She is definitely hotter, though.

A running joke is how many in the cast think her tail is snuggly / fluffy (at least end fight winner quotes)...when she isn't beating the shit out of em with it during the actual fight with her grab I suppose..?

Amusingly enough she actually has more plot relevance compared to a lot of the other characters (although that ends in CF but then again mostly everyone there except the main main people are pointless there)

Makoto is a double agent with the main factions and actively takes part in the plot to stop the apocalypse and she actually plays some big roles (helping to stop Izanami and Izayoi / helping save Ragna near the end along with some other stuff)

Yeah that's probably why since just CS only shows her in a few flashbacks during the Academy days as comic relief I think.

Makoto tier wasnt just that she was bottom-tier its that she had no right being so bad. Her kit was strong. She had a great b-n-b. Good mixups. The fluffer throw. Air game was meh but man, she could get in!

...but her damage was so bad. She would full combo you and get the same damage as if Hakumen just hit you twice.

Ann is a Phantom Thief and one of those Im part white so I have blond hair and blue eyes but Im still mostly Japanese so Im not too foreign characters Japan loves so much. Im just surprised they didnt make her fully Japanese and have blond hair and blue eyes anyway ala Karin in Street Fighter. Like seriously, after reading her Wiki, nothing would change if she was just not Japanese at all. So weird.

Looks-wise, Ann is one of those few waifus so far whose looks are in-universe super amazing and enough to make everyone lust after her who actually justifies it. Like, shes pretty hot. I normally hate twintails, but something about her pulls it off. It may just be this particular pose chosen for the artwork, where theyre flowing over her shoulders instead of behind them, but either way it works in a way that most twintails dont.

Personality-wise, shes restrained when around normal people and withdrawn around other students because they think shes a slut, yet when around complete strangers shes open and forward with her opinions. Later she becomes more lively and confident. One thing I like about her is that she apparently has no problems showing off her body except when shes not in total control of the situation, like having to pose for someones skeevy portrait, where she becomes flustered and irritated.

PWC-wise, she possibly has a job (model), likes video games and specifically dislikes mobile games?, and hates soda. All of these things work for me. Since I cut soda out of my diet I lost like forty pounds, its great, although that certainly has more to do with other tactics than just cutting out the soda.

Overall, Ann seems like an A+ waifu if you can forgive her dressing up like dominatrix Catwoman in her spare time.

P5 is the first time they've had costumes, but they're Phantom Thieves, so it comes with the territory. Some of them are not fond of what their costumes turn out to be, as you might expect.
