Cubs currently have the highest runs per game and the highest runners left on base in MLB (2nd in runners left in scoring position by .01 to Cleveland). So not only are they scoring a bunch but they are wasting their opportunities the most.

This has obviously been bolstered by their last 6 games where the offense has started showing signs of life, but still...

I would love to see the Orioles' offense pick up a bit. Gausman might be broken, Ubaldo has been Ubaldo and I don't know what to expect in the future with Bundy, Miley and Tillman when he returns.

It has been crazy, for about 2 weeks the starters were playing well and the bullpen was a mess. Since then the bullpen has been lights out and the starters have been getting rocked.

Cespedes injured his leg on a double and is coming out of the game. Hopping on one leg, had to be helped off the field.


THIS TEAM IS LITWRALLY THE MOST FUCKING CURSED TEAM ON THE FUCKING PLANET. Over the last 30 years it feels like almost no one has had to deal with as much fucking letdown bullshit and injury literal insanity. Either they are fucking terrible or when they actually have expectations which is like 4 times over that 30 year period they fucking hit you the fucking hardest and crush you the most by having their whole fucking team get hurt.

Cespedes and Syndergaard both hurt today why can't we just have fucking nice things for goddamn fucking once in my goddamn fucking miserable baseball life and don't any of you tell me i am bitching or whining because you would be doing it too if not on this post than at least in your head but Idk if any team has ever had to deal with this kind of injury and disappointment disaster on the level the Mets have had to over the last 30 years and where players get hurt only when the the team has actual talent on it

Yup, 2009 mets went through a similar thing where they had so much hype and it was at the time the worst injury season they ever had and all to important players . The 2017 mets have relived that in april

You can't force someone to take an MRI if they refuse. But you can bench or dl him until he does. This is on both parties but it's more on Syndergaard for being a dumbass.

Anyway he went on the dl today with a partial lat tear. Matz had the same injury last year and missed 2 months. The original Syndergaard MRI issue was for a biceps thing. We're they related? Would the MRI have turned up either bicep or lat or both? We will never know and i guess frankly it doesn't matter.

Y'all know the Mets have not only had the worst injury luck of all teams ever but they also handle it worse than every team in both actual management of it (like not putting guys on the dl when they should or issues like this) and in PR of it (because every time they say an injury is "this bad" it is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS at least 5 times worse, and that is barely an exaggeration)

Maybe the reason they have so many injuries is because of the management and there's not a coincidence there...

It doesn't help that's for sure. But even the ones that aren't mismanaged. I mean they mismanaged a lot relatively speaking, way more than most teams do but tahts still only relatively speaking. Mismanagement aside we still have to deal with a buttload of injuries every goddamn year but because god is cruel it only happens most excessively when we have high expectations.

There is clearly something wrong with training and conditioning and there has been for at least 15 years - with the same training staff. It's more on the conditioning team probably than the training team

but what I don't get is when a team starts losing a lot over a long period of time what do teams usually do? Fire the manager and coaching staff even if it's not really their fault right? Like unless they turn it around this happens eventually and they take the blame rightfully or not. How does the same not hold true for training staff with injuries this repeatedly for this long?

Mismanagement is one thing but it's still only once in a while on an overall scale (not relative but I'm talking total quantity here). How can there be this many injuries every goddamn year? Even the most incompetent mismanaged injury regime on earth (enough to at least have a professional job and not be fired) can't have things go this badly without truly catastrophically awful luck
