Played it for like 5 minutes yesterday before going to bed, and it's fun so far

Just wanted to know what the local residents of B8 thought of it

EDIT: Also, I've been thinking of picking up LEGO Worlds at some point, so if anyone has any input on that too, that'd be great

I borrowed it from a friend when we were eleven. I moved away and forgot to give it back to him. About fifteen years later, I found it in a box and looked him up on Facebook, where I found that every picture was of him at weird raves. I ended up giving the game to Goodwill.

Also it was a pretty good game in the late 90s. No idea how it holds up.

I still speedrun the game to 100% a few times every year. I forget what my personal best is, but I think it's sub-4 hours. I don't do anything crazy, I just like to play through as fast as I can because it's such a fantastic game.

It's close to my top 10 of all-time, but definitely top 15.

Yeah, I play through it like once a year and it's gradually becoming a speed run because I just know the game so well.

Tooie blows because of how it constantly keeps making you only do half of each level before forcing you to go on, thus creating a bunch of annoying backtracking

not only that, the levels were not that good because there were several times where you just would wander around, wondering what to do next. Even when you're SUPPOSED to be in there at the time. The Underwater level and the Factory Place come to mind

the entire game is such a chore, Kazooie did occasionally have a backtrack segment every once in awhile but not to that degree, it was much more straight forward

like I said, Tooie did offer some improvements to the actual gameplay, like a much needed edge hanging ability, but everything else just brings it down to an unforgivable degree

exploration, interconnected levels and obtaining different abilities to clear up areas in a platformer focused on collectibles is not a flaw tbh. it's the reason I vastly prefer Tooie since the focus isn't on being straight-forward and quickly clearing up areas without being ridiculous about it (see: DK64). I especially appreciate Jiggies that require you to do something in one world to activate something in another or carrying things from one level to another.

Super Mario 64 is a brilliant platformer where things to collect are used to guide you to objectives to achieve in the level.

Banjo Kazooie is kinda like that, but replace the phrase "objectives to achieve in the level" with "things to collect" and you've got a better idea of what you're in for-- how brilliant that is is up to interpretation, but if the obsessive-compulsive within you likes collecting things this game should be a blast.

Banjo-Kazooie is on my N64 top 8, probably at #6. Had fun all the way through and managed 100% at just the point where if it had gone on any longer I would've started getting sick of it. Can't think of any other games with such a perfect length like that.
