20) I Won't Say I'm in Love From: Hercules Nominated by: PrinceKaro
Definitely in my top 3 romantic numbers and in my top 30 overall songs, here it lands 20th, and let me just say that any Hercules song featuring the Muses automatically > any song not featuring them. I love the Muses so much.
19) He Mele No Lilo From: Lilo and Stitch Nominated by: Natwaf_akidna
Fo the longest time I had no idea what this song was about, but look here! A translation just for you and me:
Anyway, it's a beautiful song in which children sing and sound more like angels than screeching imps with no concept of pitch. And I love the accompanying hula dance because rhythmically swaying hips are just sexy regardless of your gender or sexual orientation, darn it.
18) Everybody Wants to Be a Cat From: Aristocats Nominated by: jdizzy
These swingin' cats all just ooze #swag from their ever fur. Well... almost all of them. There's one thing killing the vibe here. You guessed it: children- er- kittens singing badly and off-pitch. Bleh. As cute as Marie is, she absolutely butchers her part of the song. Good thing it's a brief part. I could also do without the harpsichord solo changing the mood of the song. So with these glaring flaws, why in the world is this so high? Three reasons: 1) Nostalgia- self-explanatory 2) The Paragon - it's the only song in the entire movie worth half a damn (O'Malley the Alley Cat? It's okay, but it just ain't scat. Scales and Arpeggios? Don't make me laugh, daddio) so I might tend to go easy on it due to lack of in-movie competition. and 3) This song is just so damn cool it masks the squares with circles and triangles! Anyhoo, I already mentioned that I love jazz, so if none of the above explanations gel with you then substitute it with "jazz bias" and move on.
17) Zero to Hero From: Hercules Nominated by: SuorGenoveffa
My favorite song from Hercules. YES INDEED!
16) Bare Necessities From: The Jungle Book Nominated by: vcharon
This song is just such a classic you can't help but love it even if it has a pretty bad message: wait around and be lazy and you might not get everything you want but you'll surely get what you need. Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong, but I'm more inclined to believe Baloo is just not that great a role model. Still though, he's Papa Bear <3. You can't not love such a fun song sang by such a fun character, you just can't!!

I nominated it for "lulz" because I thought I remember you saying you hated that song, but I think I got you confused with someone else and now I can't remember who it was. >_>
It's not okay that you forgot, Genny. I will never forgive you for that (also Gaston's low placement) unless I'll Make A Man Out Of You and Prince Ali are in your top ten.
-- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig. Started: July 6, 2005
I remember the last one I've nominated yet to be placed. Good placement, underrated track! Glad to see it up this high, my favorite song from that movie and I love the message. Classic stuff (assuming you didn't accidentally omit it =()
15) Title Theme/Tale as Old as Time From: Beauty and the Beast Nominated by: Pokewars
From: Pokewars | #133 From: GenesisSaga | #122 There's literally only one romance song that would place in my top ten Disney songs of all time
Better be the correct one ;)
Close, but not quite. Sorry champ. Anyhoo, this is one of the two romantic songs that I would place in my personal top 25 of all time. The other, as you can imagine, has yet to appear. This song starts off pretty slow but builds up into something powerful and beautiful, mimicking The Beast and Belle's relationship. Mrs. Potts has a beautiful singing voice for an older madam, but at times it gets a bit weak and fragile. However, those minor imperfections are kind of what I like about it.
14) Colors of the Wind From: Pocahontas Nominated by: SuorGenoveffa
Classic. Why in the world would you think Almost There would place higher than this man!? Nostalgia alone could boost this over many things, but man it sounds beautiful and has a nice message too. I especially love the phrase near the end "for whether we are white- or copper-skinned, we need to sing with all the voices of the mountain; we need to paint with all the colors of the wind". I'm... actually not even sure what that means. Respect nature, I guess? Well I don't even need to completely understand it to love it. I love nature, and the animals, and the colors (, duke, the colors!!) so it's both pleasing to my ears and eyes.
13) Why Should I Worry? From: Oliver and Company Nominated by: Emporer_Kazbar
Your last song, Kazbar, is one I adore. <3 Billy Joel as Dodger. Briliant casting choice, and fantastic song full of fun. I feel so sorry for poor Oliver though, little kitty goes through quite the rough patch because of this character... Favorite line: "The rhythm of the city- boy, once you get it down you can own this town, you get to wear the crown~" Favorite scene: ... every scene, but I especially love the one in which Dodger plays the piano with his tail and then grabs some flowers with it and throws them to the b****es (they're literally female dogs...) below. Talk about #swag. Guess it's not exclusive to cats! Props to the cameos from Pongo (101 Dalmatians) and from Peg, Jacque/Jock, and Trusty (Lady and the Tramp) at 2:39 and 2:44. Nice! Even the singing rats look cute. :3
12) Friends on the Other Side From: The Princess and the Frog Nominated by: Anagram
It was so difficult to decide whether to rank this song above or below the next. I looove Keith David's deep, dark voice- it's perfect for a villain- dare I say the voice is even more perfect than a certain villain who's song has yet to appear. The song is really fun for a "bad guy"... almost a little too fun in the beginning. It takes until the last minute to know the man actually means business, and when you see the shrunken heads and voodoo dolls singing "Are you reeeeady" it's too late and you know you're screwed. Anyhoo Facilier is awesome. Fun villain character who can get down to business when the time comes- like the opposite of Jafar, a almost all-business villain who occasionally lets loose at others' expenses.

11) Dig a Little Deeper From: Princess and the Frog Nominated by: vcharon
I've finally decided that this is my favorite song from PatF, so no we have this in common, char! For the longest it has been tied with or slightly below Friends on the Other Side, but no more! It was Tiana's last note that sold me. Anika Noni Rose is the greatest! Anyway, great colorful imagery, exciting energy, and a fantastic message. I'm not even a huge fan of the Gospel songs, but damn this gets me every time! Naveen makes the cutest faces when he watches Tiana sing and dance. So <3.
HM #2 Once Upon a December From: Anastasia
Yeah... A list of not-quite-Disney Honorable Mentions would just be stupid without this song. Pretty much self-explanatory. That said, there is one more not-Disney song I love more than it- my favorite, and I'm having trouble finding a halfway decent clip of it. :( I'll keep looking...
A real writeup for Zero to Hero since Suor is a big babby:
As I've already mentioned, the Muses make pretty much number they're present in, this one being no exception. They're funny and the lead one can sang. No, that's not a typo. She doesn't sing, she sangs as we say down here. She's got soul. She's super bad. I'm getting off-track. The song! So, I love the fighting montage of Hercules' Labors. It's pretty accurate for Disney standards. He faces the Lernean Hydra, the Erymanthean Boar, the Nemean Lion, one of the Stymphalian Birds, and Cretan Bull. Disney messed up by adding a random serpent, Gorgon, and manticore in there but oh well. Also he doesn't face them in nearly the right order, but eh- nobody's perfect.
Fun fact: I used to think the Nemean Lion was a Scar cameo (I didn't know any better as a kid, leave me be). Favorite line " When he smiled the girls went wild with oohs and ahs. They slapped his face on every vase-" "On every vase". ^_^

Friends on the Other Side isn't really even that great of a song. Too many speaking parts for my liking. I love Facilier though, and this song just highlights everything about him that makes him awesome.
By the way, who nominated Hellfire? I take it that's the one villain song you'll rank above it.
And Vish, it's one of the snubs. It'll get on the mock list eventually so don't worry (ba dah ba babadum) be happy.

One of these four was not. I shan't say which because the mystery is afoot.

I think two or three a day starting tomorrow. And probably posting them one at a time.

Hades has no song at all! Which is odd because James Woods doesn't have a terrible singing voice if that Family Guy song was any indication.

Hellfire A Whole New World Under the Sea Part of Your World I'll Make a Man out of You Girl Worth Fighting For Honor to us All Look Through My Eyes This is Halloween
and uh...
Are You a Man or a Muppet?
Last one is a random shot. Every other song is amazing and has to be on the list.
You said only one love song in the top 10, right? That would be Whole New World. If two were allowed, then I'd say I See the Light.

10) He's a Pirate From: Pirates of the Caribbean Nominated by: ZaziGuado
Congratulations, Zazi! You are the first of only two people to have one nomination land in the bottom ten and one place in the top ten! The other is coming up soon. And congratulations, Vish! You were correct. Was I, charon? Huh, huh?? Anyway, I quite love this wordless theme. It speaks of adventure on the high seas, thrilling chases, and action- constant action! It hits hard and it doesn't stop hitting right up until its conclusion. Also I didn't know whether you were nominating the orchestral or original version, but to my untrained ears they sound pretty much the same with one being drawn out, so I just put them both up.
This theme reminds me of a time when the original movie was yet untarnished by the poop that came after. Okay, that's not really fair... Dead Man's Chest was watchable, but man At World's End was terrible- unbearable even! On Stranger Tides gave me hope that the series is still salvageable, but those hopes certainly aren't high apple pie in the sky hopes, no sir! But enough of that. This is an iconic song that's been used in ever PotC movie to date and it's just marvelous. Makes me want to embark on a journey right now. In fact, screw this list, I'm running away from home, y'all!

This honor is one that I will hold dearly for the rest of my life.
If I was creative enough, I'd find a way to make this into a meme where people are doing mundane things and then all of a sudden this song starts blaring and pirates come and **** their **** up.
I know, this is weeks ago, but I've got to comment:
83) Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah From: Song of the South Nominated by: cody11533
Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Day! This song is cheerful, merry, and gay! Oops, there was one more gibberish song: the quintessential Song of the South (which I have never seen but have heard of many-a-time). Well, there ain't much to it at all, but the song fills me with glee and makes me want to skip down a road barefoot. It's the truth, it's factual. This song is satisfactual- that is until it's ruined by a chorus of tone deaf children toward the very end. WHY!?
If you'd have been alive for when The Cosby Show was on and in its heyday, you'd have a much higher opinion of this song. Why? This commercial right here:
Yep, Claire, Theo, and Rudy Huxtable singing and dancing through Disney World. Every 80's kid, regardless of race, wished they were a Huxtable. This commercial helped cement that in our psyche.
