Also, I've never felt like the Ryder/Ziggler matches were ever "formulaic". They all seemed rather fresh and new. Ryder isn't the best wrestler, no. But he's steadily improving. Working with Ziggler has really helped him. I'm thinking back to the latest match and really having a hard time seeing how it was formulaic at all. It was pretty fantastic how it was presented, and it was the perfect culmination to Ryder's entire road to the US Title.
Ryder gets beat on, sometimes obeying the Steamboat babyface principle. He does the big boot, he goes the "knee to the face" reveral, he doesthe leg drop. Hoganesque minus hulking up.

Heh, as far as "like him as a person" goes, even if he's a dunce in real life I'll take 10 Ryders over 1 CM Punk any day.
My love of Punk has everything to do with his hard work and devotion to his (somewhat shared with me) ideals about the business, that he alone truly has the platform to vocalize seriously, and also our shared drug-free/alcohol-free life policies, although I hesitate to slap a label on myself about it to identify with some self-important subculture like he does. I really don't think he's all that cool in real life.
Of course, there are plenty of happy mediums like Bryan and Cabana where they're both great workers and great people.

You know this is almost word for word what i just told someone about Cena and Punk oddly enough.
But yeah Punk I like, and I have a lot of friends just like him even if they are prickly people. I do think personality iso ne of those things thats irrelevent until its not. I have no idea what Cody Rhodes or Dolph Ziggler are like, I dont really care. But if it comes out they like I dunno, kill puppies thatd change my opinion of them.

So do you have a hard time going back to old Chris Benoit matches?

Its pretty difficult because I marked for him so hard back then and just feel really uncomfortable any time he would come up in say Chronics PPV watches.

I was sad to find out that he is a jerk irl since I loved him just for giving me someone to point to and say "see its cool that I don't want to drink."

According to Nash, last night was his retirement match. Way to put some hot young talent over on your way out, Kev.
Also I found this tirade hilarious:
- Following Daniel Bryan's World Title victory, Batista posted the following on Twitter
"excuse me! did i hear that right? Daniel Bryan World Heavyweight Champ. ummmmmmm.....ok."
"man did that comment bring the tough guy haters out. well i'm at Gracie Fighter Tampa daily. 6333 s. dale mabry hwy Tampa FL. stop on by"
"so to clear up any misunderstanding about me hating on Daniel Bryan...actually i've been a supporter of his for years, unlike most of you Johnny come lately smart mark supporters. we actually had a hell of a match together that was originally supposed to be a squash match until this old broken down ex bodybuilder who never deserved to be champion and only had it handed to me because HHH was my boy...refused to job the kid out because i knew how good he was and wanted to have a f***ing match with him before i left the company. and a hell of a match we had considering where our respective places in the company were at the time. so yes im aware of all of his accomplishments and hard work through out the years and i'm thrilled to death for him....but still...World Heavyweight champ???ummmmmmm...ok. opinions are like a*******. my Twitter account,my opinion. and to all the b**** a** haters who just dogged me out and b****** about how horrible i was.....i've worked with HHH, the Undertaker,Rey Mysterio,Randy Orton Stone Cold,Edge,John Cena,Chris Benoit,Ric F***ing Flair!!etc.etc.. and they all respected me and my work. Eddie Guerrero respected my work. so don't expect your little bulls*** remarks to actually carry any weight. in your B**** a** faces!!"
Some extra censoring by me to pass the TOU. <_<

If I had to guess, Batista thinks it's too early and not much build up for Daniel Bryan to be champ. ...Of course, he could just be full of s*** and think Daniel Bryan would never deserve it. But I think it's more likely the former.
I do remember his match with Bryan and all of us thinking that he's going to be squashed, so I buy that he wanted to have a great match with him.

No, Batista's an outspoken member of the "Main eventers need to look like they can kick your ass" club. It's not that he disrespects guys that don't, he just thinks it's bad for business and for attracting casual fans.
I just thought all of his swearing and defensiveness was funny,

I know we all want our favorites to get the titles right away, but at the same time there is a point where there does seem like not enough time is being spent building guys up either. It took forever to Eddie and Benoit to get titles. It's only really been the Cena (well I guess Lesnar) era where they get titles in a couple of years. If things continue to dilute there will be a time pretty soon where half the roster will be world champions. If you think Barret and Cody are due reigns soon then your highest guys on the roster who have never held a world title is Kofi Kingston.

Out of boredom (and I know the year isn't over yet but still), here's every distinct pairing* of World Champions WWE had this year:
Miz/Edge Miz/Dolph Ziggler Miz Miz/Christian John Cena/Christian John Cena/Randy Orton CM Punk/Christian CM Punk/Rey Mysterio/Christian CM Punk/John Cena/Christian CM Punk/John Cena/Randy Orton CM Punk/Randy Orton Alberto Del Rio/Randy Orton Alberto Del Rio/Mark Henry John Cena/Mark Henry CM Punk/Mark Henry CM Punk/Big Show CM Punk/Daniel Bryan

I would totally do that if they had any idea who you were. And to explain to my friends would mean admitting where I get all my wrestling factoids from.
Oh btw, I have been stealing your Jakyl Fun Facts and telling them to my friends/posting them on another site. Thanks for making me look really knowledgable!

Man, I was gonna say that these next two weeks are gonna be filler-tastic just because viewership might be down over the holidays and its clear that there's some new direction or something coming on 1/2/12.
But then I realized that Raw next week is in Chicago, Illinois.

From: vcharon | #424 I don't really recall how many matches were tag matches (website doesn't say), but upon a tag loss a while back with Khali (pretty much the beginning of his end) he had a 26 match win streak.
Whatttt
How many of these were on Superstars jeez
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
This Chicago RAW was planned several months in advance I think. *looks through b8watchesraw chat logs*
Yeah, this on the 18th of July (right after MitB)
XDanteX2005 (03:36:46): WWE added a new location for RAW on december 26th, in Chicago Illinois XDanteX2005 (03:36:59): the last show scheduled before that is Nov. 23rd
Hopefully something special happens. Maybe this is when Punk introduces a new belt, or we get CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION MATCH OMG.
So I watched the most recent ROH TV episode this morning, man Michael Elgin is kind of awesome. Like he pulled out a bunch of moves I've never seen outside of a video game and just put on a great match. I'm actually sad he lost.

Yeah, Elgin is a beast and he's so unique on the ROH roster.
He won Survival of the Fittest so he's already due a title shot at Davey anyway despite losing that Proving Ground match, so you'll see these two fight again in 2012!
...unless Edwards wins this Friday of course!

watching tlc (up to the barrett orton match, lol zack's facial expressions, wtf they keep showing rosa) and just randomly wondering if there has ever been an Ironman tables match?
-- Got TURKEY MAGIC'D - Woo Woo Woo! You Know It! some line about the guru winner here
i can get behind michael praise. yes the guy isn't very fast but he can pull off some really nasty looking moves and is rather surprising in the ring at times. now mind you, haas vs. him was a major bust. that was supposed to be a heavyweight match and just turned into... well what everyone thinks of when they imagine henry/show.
what those matches tend to be is what we expected. what we got is what you'd expect of that pairing on a gut reaction.
