Previous results: a. Yesterday's matches looked like they would yield us our first tripling until Caverns closed the gap a bit against the Deus Ex main theme. Still, Deus Ex advances, 19-10. b. Similarly, Vacant Interference got some late support against Scrap IO. Neotokyo advances, 19-10 also.

Weakest day so far. Trisection is ahead of Dark World (which uses Song of Storms and the original Dark World to hold itself up), which are just miles and miles ahead of the two MM soundtracks. Trisection>>Dark World>>>>>>>>>>>>>Opener/Shadow Man.

Why wasn't I here for yesterday's matches to vote for them?! It was an amazing day and I could've said a lot about it. But well, it wouldn't have made a difference, really. Deus Ex Main Title nearly doubling Caverns? Scrap I/O nearly doubling Vacant Interference?! WHAT?! So hard to believe considering Ys Seven was probably the most frontloaded OST so far.
Anyway, onto today's match:
Opening Stage Shadow Man Stage
Very weak day all around. The 2 first match songs are too random in different ways -- MMX's Opening Stage being a little messy, like the song forgot that it wasn't using a chiptune anymore, and Trisection being a rather uninspired and totally forgettable orchestral composition.
On the other side, Shadow Man Stage has cool bits and has some original bits as well, but it's awkward at times, and Dark World is just such an UNREMARKABLE rearrangement of the original version that it's just not excusable at all. I'm sure that a properly done rearrangement of that song could surpass the original song rather easily and become an extraordinary piece by itself, but it's like they didn't even care about doing THIS arrangement.

don't like either much but dark world is an abomination, like most of the barwl remixes are. this game honestly got nominated over several mario, zelda, and metroid games? wtf, I can accept that board 8 is nintendo obsessed but at least appreciate nintendo's good work!
