4chan already is saying that Launchpad is their champion. They just have Einstein as a backup plan incase Launchpad gets knocked out somehow.

Just reeks of people expecting everyone else to have the same random nostalgia as they do. I actually watched DuckTales and I barely remember who he was. How does anyone under the age of 20 know him?

Kinda... They just have a banner on the front page. Recently they did change the wording on the banner to say it was round 2, and the votes have spiked since.

Yoshi's caught up to Einstein. I'm guessing 4chan abandons everything else and just focuses on Launchpad now, although he looks safe anyway. Toad losing to Daxter is surprising, although looking at Clank's power makes it less so.

Gamespot gives kits to these companies to rally. Look on the facebook page, its like a pre-designed thing: http://www.facebook.com/fallout

So basically all they have to do is post it, and they also already know about the contest going on. Gamefaqs doesn't really promote it to companies so they don't even know about our contests going on.

Dogmeat's match has the most votals by about 1000 votes (or roughly 10%). The next highest is actually Tails/Lucca. Launchpad/Zero seems just a bit higher than the average, which suggests that Launchpad could have definitely won even without 4chan support.

The next highest is actually Tails/Lucca.

Well, that's not really surprising. The first match of the round generally gets one of the highest vote totals of the round just by virtue of being the first match people see.

Dominic Santiago has opened up a huge lead on Chocobo outta nowhere (Chocobo was in the high 50s last time I checked). This match now also has the highest votals, eclipsing Dogmeat/Agro. There's gotta be a rally going on; Epic probably found out about this contest and is pushing their guy either on their forums or Facebook.

Also there are comments telling people to go vote for Frog on quite a few youtube videos with Frog's theme.

So Otacon's got nearly 60% on Frog.

I wish there were some way I could turn that into a positive spin for the NRT, but I don't think anyone really believes Otacon's got a shot against Frog here!

But Epona only getting 60% on Navi isn't really good for her.

Okay... let's see what we have here...

Currently losing on my bracket:

Chocobo (WOW, strong Epic rallying)
Moogle (WHOA! I didn't expect Cortana to be THIS powerful. Were did this rally come from?!)
Zero (huh... Launchpad down to 55%? 4chan F-A-I-L!)
Toad (what the... is going on with DAXTER?)
Diddy Kong (49.2%... pretty normal, he'll recover quickly)

Additional thoughts/notes: Everything looks pretty normal aside from the Dogmeat rallying and the things I mentioned above. The Cube and Otacon finally recovered, as well as Tails and Yoshi. This is looking great.

Nothing wrong with giving Otacon some credit; CT's had a decent contest, Otacon did well in the vote-ins, and we don't exactly have counter-evidence about his strength. I'm skeptical of him doing that well here too, but...hey, so far so good for the guy.


I thought Epona would probably break 60% on Navi, so this has been in-line with that thought so far. She looks to be gradually going down so that may not maintain, but it's not a bad showing either. Epona barely beat Navi in the vote-in (where they each did well overall, including soundly beating Midna) and Epona's not one of LoZ's big three...so to turn that theoretically-even match into a 60-40 victory is worth being content about. These two characters are who's competing for the most face-time in the series outside of the triforce-holders -- in a big year for LoZ, too -- so this puts Epona in a good place. Now only Dark Link has a real argument against her for the strongest LoZ-character we haven't seen here, and I'll take Epona now that she's proving something of a legitimate fanbase (something I don't think Dark Link really has).

All that's really left is to hope she puts up a good fight against WCC. I don't know what to really expect there, aside from Epona likely outperforming Rush. That'll be enough of a GameSpot-resume to say she's proven her worth for a chance at GameFAQs: best LoZ-character in the vote-in, blew out fodder, and won an SFF-match against the second-best LoZ-character from the vote-in...hopefully "doing well against a potential champion" joins that list too.

So Dominic is getting a Facebook rally too, huh? Man. I love how the biggest rallies in this contest don't even involve 4chan!

All in all, my bracket's doing pretty well here. I still don't know what the **** happened to Toad, though - that's an even bigger choke than Wakka last round! Did anyone seriously take Daxter to beat him?

Navi beat Midna in the vote-in. Not that you have to take that at face-value, especially at GameSpot, but given that Navi/Midna share similar roles in the same series and Navi comes from the significantly bigger game, that puts her into okay position to win that battle...and Epona's now 60-40'ing Navi. Epona can do well if she could actually 60-40 Midna.

Navi's hated, sure, but she's seen a lot and isn't hated like Tingle...and even Tingle did okay here against Sora (before being ripped to shreds in an SFF-fest of a four-way). Part of it might be that we aren't giving Navi enough credit -- you know, like we haven't been to the rest of the LoZ-cast we haven't seen. Part of it's also that we shouldn't expect Epona to have strong SFF-powers, even against Navi.

Yoshi is not looking good to me here. Einstein is behind by only 1500 votes and has almost 3 days left to come back. That should be well within 4chan's capabilities.
