AviSynth has nothing to do with codecs. Really, all you have to do using the template I provided is:

- Open up Notepad.
- Paste my Template.
- Paste the file path to the image and audio into the two lines for them.
- Write the amount of minutes and seconds into the two lines for them.
- Save the file as vgmusic.avs or whatever, name doesn't matter but extension does.
- Open up in your favorite video editing/encoding program and encode. (VirtualDub and MeGUI both work fine for that)

That's all, really.

The problem with WMM and similar stuff is that there's probably no option to use uncompressed or lossless audio, which means there'll probably be three lossy reencodes of the audio once it's up on Youtube (once from the CD or whatever to your .mp3/.ogg/.ac3/whatever file, once when you put it into the video, and once when Youtube gets it), unless your source file was .flac in which case there'll be two, which is still not good but better. This is even worse when it's a new-ish game and there's no official soundtrack available, since in that case your source (from the game audio files) is already lossy, giving you a total of four lossy encodes.

Ideally you want to have exactly one lossy encode, which is done by Youtube once you've uploaded the file. And even if that's not possible, the point is that you want to have as few reencodes as possible.

VGMusic of the Day 380: Troddlers (SNES) - Nuclear Holocaust


Troddlers is an Amiga puzzle game which was ported to SNES and DOS. The Amiga version has a cool soundtrack by Allister Brimble, and the SNES version has a faithful conversion by the composer himself. I actually prefer certain tracks on the SNES, such as Nuclear Holocaust, but both versions of the soundtrack are great. The DOS version has a less-cool soundtrack by a different composer, though it did make up for it by getting some extra art of the adorable duo, Hokus & Pokus (the SNES version was the most graphically snubbed in comparison).

Also:
Every mission in the game uses one of five graphical themes. Each of those five has its own BGM. I'm calling this music track "Nuclear Holocaust" because it plays on all missions with that theme. "Tight Time" is merely the first chronological mission to use said theme. The More You Know

VGMusic of the Day 387: Zool 2 (Amiga CD32) - Swan Lake


I barely ever played any of the Zool games/ports. Despite the sweet character design of Zool, the rest of the games' aesthetics range from silly to tacky. And its core, it's just another platformer series. The Amiga CD32 port of Zool 2 had different music than other versions, which is far superior, IMO. "Swan Lake" in particular channels the best of the 80's (to 90's) dance/hip-hop vibe.
