Not only is the bridge own federally not state or city side, it also will affect the nation. They will get some kind of reimbursement from insurance (won't be the full amount) but that will take 2+ years.

They know what a massive problem that bridge being gone is going to be for many many years and they are determined to make it a campaign issue all the while including when construction starts they'll pass it off to incompetent companies owned by friends and wealthy donors, construction will take almost 2 decades or more as the funding is stolen, misused or withheld in exchange for some horrible piece of legislation that would stand no chance of passing otherwise.

If anyone ever had dreams of seeing a bridge like that again in reality then they're in for a brutal wake up call

Considering a number of GOP traitors are on record saying they would rather let any number of initiatives they approve of fail rather than risk them being touted as wins for Biden? Absolutely. We are literally livestock to them, animals to breed and raise as cheaply as possible so we can spend our lives working for their benefit.

Hell, Id argue they view people as less than livestock, because no one actually has much in the way of contempt for a cow or chicken.

What's crazy is that there's no reason not to. That bridge is vital for economic means and basic travel around the city.

Man, even with a "fiscal responsibility" mindset that Republicans claim to have, they don't seem to realize the economic damage from having a massive shipping port out of commission for longer will cost more in the long run than just paying to have it repaired as quickly as possible.

We can PROBABLY recoup the reconstruction costs from the shipping company, better to get it clear and functional asap vs waiting for Baltimore to scrape together the funding for repairs and wreckage clearing.
