Agholor had a solid year last year, but that was with a QB that can throw. He's also nowhere close to a WR1 and that's essentially what he is now, unless Bill goes WR in the middle of the first round.

Bourne is bad, but is probably better than our entire current WR corps. That doesn't excuse him being bad, but I guess anything is an improvement there. Definite overpay on both WR signings though.

At this point if Bill doesn't go QB or WR with the first round pick it's going to be rough, and even then we'll see.

Smith is serviceable and a good leader, but he wasn't a very good QB last year. He's not worth the risk you're taking on with his health.

Less talent than Gronk and Hernandez, but also less murder than them as well, so it balances out.

The Pats are a competent QB away from actually being good again. I feel like a dozen teams have been saying the same thing for a decade, though. I'm not even sure how Jimmy G can fit in at this point, but I'm still not opposed to it.

Yeah, I feel like every year half the teams in the league think they're a QB away from being competitive.

How does it feel being your average NFL fan now?

I don't mind the team in theory, but it is a bit strange to move on from Brady with no real plan. It comes across like BB treating QB as though it were any other position. If we stick with Cam (obligatory "I like Cam he just can't throw") then I don't think we're a playoff team, but we have enough quality to make it to 6-8 wins.

it feels weird to me because Brady forced out Jimmy GQ, you would think Bill would draft another backup or have another plan, but somehow he just treated Brady with disrespect and tried to lowball him during free agency and then was shocked when he left

I mean, I feel like you're either already competitive or "just a QB away" No inbetween.

Like give the Jets a good QB and I'd think they're competitive! Not Super Bowl competitive, but "Make the playoffs, make the divisional round maybe" competitive! The Jets!

They somehow went 7-9 last year with a team that was worse in all aspects compared to their current one and with a tougher schedule on paper, so saying they'll get less wins in a year where there is also likely going to be an extra game played seems kinda weird.

he was literally airing out bombs left and right and couldn't be stopped, he might have dropped 60 on the 49ers before the night was over and forced the NFL to fake a blackout to slow down the Ravens
