He's not which is why he interviewed with every team in the league before signing a one year deal.

I dont really understand what the ravens are doing. They seem dead set on having a run first offense and their passing game being "let lamar scramble and hope he makes plays".

honestly if Watson doesn't play this season (either through a trade/suspension/holdout...arrest) that team has a really good chance at being one of the worst teams of the century, at least on paper.

The Jets haven't had one since 1967
The Browns haven't had one since 1980
The Eagles didn't get their first until 2019

All other teams have had at least 2 seasons of 4000+ yards

That's actually more than I expected. I would have just been happy with a third, but to get a 2nd (even if it's next year) is huge. Jets are set up to have many picks and a lot of rookie contracts during the next few years. If Saleh and Douglas do this right this is the best chance in a decade the jets have to be good.

I hope the best for Darnold - he certainly didn't get a fair shot on the Jets given how talent depleted and, well, coach depleted we were.

Fail to get Watson(which may be for the best), make no real moves on any other QB and settle on Darnold? The Panthers front office is really out of it, eh? Even more to the point where if they really wanted a new QB, USE THE DRAFT! I'm not even talking first round. Pick Trask in the second or third. Or Ehlinger in the second or third. WHY go for Darnold when dude has to be mentally rebuilt?

I don't mind the flier on darnold at all, my issue is that every flirtation/committment to another qb is another indictment of that bridgewater contract...except bridge hasn't even been that bad, last season iirc was his first full season back and he was fine, but we seem content to move on because this FO is convinced that we must win RIGHT NOW despite the defense being a dumpster fire.

Darnold is a fine gamble, he's only 23, and NYJ was SO BAD that I'm willing to give him a pass for basically everything. But that's just more indicative that the FO feels they missed hard on bridgwater, which isn't inspiring for the future.

I fully understand and agree that some QBs need time to reach their full potential as well as the fact that some teams don't want to wait for a QB to peak if it takes "too long."

At the same time, it's difficult to have faith in a QB that literally admits to seeing ghosts on the field. The actual definition of LITERALLY, not the millennial meme definition. As in, he LITERALLY saw apparitions on the field that rattled him.
