For me personally, 2006 and 2017 were my lowest points. 2020 has been terrible on a global scale, but pretty decent for me overall.

Honestly despite world events, 2020 has been one of the best years for me so far.

Granted it's likely because last year was just that awful for me and is honestly probably the actual worst.

From a personal standpoint? Hell no. I'm actually doing pretty well right now, and even if I wasn't, it'd be hard to top my 2007 or 2010 on the shit-o-meter. In terms of the state of the world, maybe.

I would say so, but that's not saying much because I don't think I've had any other bad years. Even 2020 hasn't been that bad from a personal stand point

My next door neighbor and good friend of mine couldn't pay his rent for three months due to COVID-19 lay-offs so he killed himself, his wife, and all their pets in a double suicide.

2012 is when someone close to me died, so nothing tops that.

I did have my cat run away from me this year, so that sucks...

2011 personally

objectively yes 2020 is the worst year overall in my life

In addition to COVID, Australian wildfires, police brutality, the very real possibility of another four years of Trump, and lack sports (I know this isn't like the others), I devastatingly and abruptly lost the best pet that I've ever had and am on the verge of losing another cat and one that has been there for over half of my life.

My personal worst was probably 2006. Personally in 2020 my life has improved dramatically, largely as a direct result of quarantine. The simple act of taking long walks 3 times a day started fixing my mental health, which just rippled out into everything else.

In terms of humanity as a whole? Idk, it's tough to say. Death on a massive scale is awful but there's worse things that can happen. And I mean there's always political scandals and shit. I will say that all the negativity has brought overwhelming new forms of positivity so that's something.

Oh, well, I guess this year has seen my most difficult experience with loss so far. However even losing my uncle really changed the way I see the world and my place in it with respect to my family, in a positive way. So despite the pain, which is temporary, I grew from it quite a bit.

Depression-wise, I'm in a much better place than I was in my twenties, and none of my loved ones have died (yet) this year. So no, it's certainly not the worst. 2004 was probably the worst.

2010 was really bad, so unless theres a war or something then no.

2009 was the Drizzling shits as was most of last year. A good chunk of 2010 was ass too.

2013-2016 was the low point of my life, with 2019 being pretty close

2015 was a year that uh, I still despise.
Massive break ups, realizing I was doing nothing with my life, it was not a good year. Far worse than anything 2020 has thrown out.

I'm trapped in my house, but at least I have a job and savings.

Better than in 2014 and 2015 when I was trapped without a job and was broke.

Worst year for humanity yes, but overall, not the worst year for me. At least, I'm not suicidal anymore.

The current situation is not great for my mental health but my personal circumstances are mostly okay

My grandpa passed away at the end of last year and had been a big reason I had to stay home a lot the last two years.

My plans for this year were to get out of the house a hell of a lot more.

So needless to say, 2020 completely ruined me.

So yeah, fuck 2020. Easily the worst year of my life.

Personally no.

Globally I don't think so, there were some during the heights of the anti-terrorism wars that were worse, showing absolutely no hope for the future. At least the current disasters have a sense of progress and future attached to them. The death and violence is more visible and harder to ignore, which is a good thing, and does not mean it's worse than before.
