Yup, Zwei and Agito have full-sized human forms at this point in the story, but it apparently takes a fair amount of mana to maintain them. They go back to being smol when they're in battle (whether fighting alone or being used as unison devices to power up Hayate or members of the Wolkenritter) because they have to focus on using the mana for combat.

Deca-Dence is so fucking stupid but I love it so much. Where else in anime will you get a badass montage with badass music for a cartoony little robot with Mickey Mouse hands literally shoveling shit and it still actually feels badass?

Nanoha Vivid is down. I'm so confused. It's like they were setting up for a second season but a second season never happened. Nothing was resolved and the tournament was only like half over. I don't know what episode 12.5 is, but there is no way it will resolve everything.

Honestly, I prefer the magical martial arts fighting of Vivid and Vivid Strike over the magical battles of the original series. I need to rewatch Vivid Strike one of these days, being the entry that got me into the series in the first place.

Sadly, one of the flaws in Nanoha ViVid's anime is that it's a very incomplete story. Unlike the first three Nanoha anime seasons being original anime, ViVid was based on a manga and is clearly meant to be a "go read the manga for more" kind of anime.

Both Nanoha Force (the next serious story after StrikerS focusing on adult Nanoha/Fate/Hayate) and Nanoha ViVid began publication in 2009, and the original plan was to have Force continue the main story and ViVid would just be a lighter side project. However, Force wasn't well-received by fans in the beginning, and it was eventually put "on hiatus" (a full cancellation hasn't been officially announced, but it's been "on hiatus" for seven years now) and ViVid was basically promoted to being the main story in its place and continued for a lot longer than it was originally planned to.

The anime didn't air until 2015 and only adapted 30 chapters out of the 70+ that existed at the time, and the manga ended with 102 in total. If you're interested in it, I've heard that the ViVid manga, as well as the ViVid LIFE comedy 4-koma that goes alongside it, are both very good.

UX wasn't hitting so I'm moving towards BX. Long story short there's three series I need to see to fill out the list: GaoGaiGar, Raijin-Oh and Shin Mazinger. The high episode counts of the first two (49 and 51 respectively) are something of a hurdle to you know, actually playing the dang game...
But regardless, started em earlier today and what do you know, they're a great match (combination sequences and pollution/waste themed enemies).

As for what each did singularly, I thought Raijin-Oh had some smart animation regarding the "5th dimension" enemies (villain punches at the robot on his viewscreen and his fist appears, giant-size, to physically strike it; later he and his underling literally slip through the cracks of a wall and floor to get to Earth). GGG meanwhile had a really intense DE-combination sequence of all things, with the MC's life put at risk during what in 90% of mecha anime would be downtime.

So I'll try to rip through these over the next few days, pick up Shin Mazinger at the halfway point, and then finally play BX <_<.

Now two episodes away from finishing Katanagatari, and this show is honestly just incredible. The story is really interesting, the dialogue is constantly fun, the comedy is on-point, the action is awesome, and the animation and character designs are absolutely gorgeous.

I finished Katanagatari today, and wow... that honestly felt like a 10/10 anime for me. I might cool down on it in a week or so and end up dropping it to a 9 (like I did for Granbelm and a few other anime in recent years that I initially wanted to give a 10) but either way, I absolutely loved it.

I've picked my next anime to watch. So back in 2017, around when I was starting to dive deep into following seasonal streaming anime, I watched a decently fun magical girl anime called Twin Angel Break. @Spidey5 I remember you also watching it with me that season. I bring this series up because, at the time I watched it, I had no idea it was actually a sequel to a previous Twin Angel series, Twinkle Paradise. Since learning that, I've had both Twinkle Paradise and the two-episode Twin Angel pilot OVA that set it up in my plan-to-watch list, and I'm just starting on it today.

Done with GGG through 25. First half was thoroughly middling, too much stock footage, too low stakes. Having the MC literally sacrificing his health and wellness to protect people is infinitely more interesting than "lol magic hammer," but gotta sell those toys I guess.

- For currently airing simulcasts (for example, Deca-Dence) generally they can all be watched with a free account a week after the episode goes up for premium members, similar to how Crunchyroll handles their simulcasts.

- For older shows that have already completed, they're generally all available subbed for free accounts. Shinku is still one of the best anime characters ever.

When you're done with that (and Ouverture) I would recommend watching the new season that came out in 2013 (I'm pretty sure). Zuruckspulen or something like that.

It seems like it may have been unpopular but I liked it. Just kind of ignore the first episode.
